Yes, 'german engineering' if that helps. ;-)
My main reason for building the PCB - is avoiding the Risers fire hazard fun and all the cables.

It looks good and neat, but that is an awful lot of power going through the traces in the PCB. Is that safe even?

All depends on what the price is and were you are shipping from..

You have a picture of product?

A simple mechanical drawing or 3d model would be nice.  Grin

Pics?

this is basically   six risers  on a backplane fully powered by a server psu  using six  usb cables to connect to the mobo.

so all the pcie cables go by-by if done right  it replaces

the psu
the risers
the pcie cables ---- are short  from back plane to cards.
I would guess it has an option for a pico psu.

if you buy a server   psu like the hps-1200

http://www.ebay.com/itm/141720603862?

you need a breakout board
a lot of pcie cables
powered risers
and a pico psu for the mobo

he is offering  a better package then all of the above.

If the price is good and it works it would be nice to have.

Yes, you still need a MB/CPU/Ram. ;-)

The PI is just to remote control the Rig and measure the Wattage. One PI can mng. several Rigs.

Canadian Miner Passing Through~~
Hi, did you make a prototype? If so could you post pictures of it? Also just to be sure I understand this. You are trying to make a 6 gpu miner that runs off a rasberry pi instead of a motherboard/cpu/ram combo? If you are and you manage to make it work I think a lot of people would be interested. Also just a small input from me: could you make it so they're are 2 sets of 3 fans (6 total) 3 infront of the gpu and 3 in the back. Or make a setup like the panda miners for closed looped liquid coolers.

Thanks
KuroNeko~

No it works from rgular 6 PCI-e slot mobo if you read carefuly. You can just connect Pi to control all thing.

So it's still gonna need to have a motherboard,cpu etc?

I'm just gauging interest.

I have a custom Backplane that

  • fits into 19"
  • can mount up to 6 GPUs
  • powered by plugged in 1500W Plat 94% PSU (no cables between PCB and PSU, direct connected)
  • it has 2x8PINs on the PCB per GPU Slott, to draw extra Power for the external PCIe GPU, close by the GPU - so all cable length are short and identical
  • is connected via USB 3.0 Cables to any 6 Slot Board (like the usual Risers)
  • has the option to connect a picoPSU via Board
  • has the option to remote control via rasperyPi (on/off & Output Wattage mesaured)
I wonder if others would want such a package and would appreciate some offers via PM. It would include

* 1500W Plat 94% PSU
* Backplate
* USB Cables
* PCIe external GPU power cables 6x (2x 6+2) splitter cables

If you are real and legit,  I would offer escrow services  for your product.

I also offer to test and demo one for you to show that it is legit.

I would offer you the same deal I offered pandaminer to demo the product.

 That  deal was send it to me upfront ie trust me.
 I do a review  post the review and theb pay for it .
 My discount from them was about 1.3%  30 bucks to be exact.

the review thread helped to launch their product.
