Sorry for digging up the dead, but is there anything going on bitcoinwise in Ann Arbor, Detroit or Michigan in general? If been searching the web for a couple hours now, but it seems like a dead spot. :/
There are a lot of people who use, and who might be interested in, Bitcoin who aren't on this forum. The best thing to do is to just start a group on Meetup.com and promote it via the keywords on that site and also go promote it on Facebook and Reddit. Expect a slow start (i.e. no one will come to your Meetups for the first few months) but if you keep it up it will eventually grow.
