hey-ho

i seem to have the idiot brigade renting my rigs.

MESSAGE TO THE IDIOT BRIGADE:

miners take time to ramp in. this is normal. Do NOT switch pool every 30 seconds because the miner will take time to switch

NO, you are not getting a refund, for being an idiot.

We must be due for a new topic now we've hit 300 odd pages?

Should split it into chapters...

Could be a 3 part trilogy... we already have the love triangle of GAW supporters, the villian etc. Would make for an epic movie.

it's a thread on an internet forum mate. GAW is not entirely front page news

Its not front page news? Josh said it was on CNN, Forbes and WSJ... you must be mistaken

You forgot Time.
DONT FORGET TIME! Tongue
EDIT add News Corp to that 2 "It's coming"  https://twitter.com/gawceo/status/535090862632755200/photo/1

I watch CNN every morning at work. I know they wouldn't even mention it's name Grin

i just searched every newspaper in the entire world, over the last 3 days...
not any-page news it would seem.

They´ll have to throw some meaningful money at this thing

if it is to stay above .01.

So the 0.0315 "floor" is done. Someone put 3BTC at 0.0305 but there is not much below that.

Homero has been quoted saying there are 200,000 members on zen cloud. When I look at HashTalk I see the same people. I would guess only ~500 people are on there every day. Let's give him a great number at 2,000 HT members regularly posting. That is 2% of his quoted customer base. So, are we supposed to believe 2% of the vocal minority to be speaking for 98% of the total customers? Are we really going to do that? Because that's foolish.

going by the number of people who have been renting rigs (and still continue to pay inflated prices) there seems to be quite a lot of people investing in peecoin.
I'd be more interested in numbers to know how many TH are being rented and by how many people. But we can speculate...do you know how many TH are being rented?

there's 1.4PH mining on nicehash... and another 1.4PH on westhash
Ok, so just on rented hashrate which is accounting for 50% + of paycoin network. 2.8 ph × 1,000 = 2800 th. 2,800th ÷ .22 (last price of a th for a day) = 12,727 BTC to mine that for 24hrs. 12,727 ÷ 10,000 (estimate of renters) = 1.27 BTC each person is spending to mine for 24 hours. So, 5% of the customers could realisticly be mining. Add more renters and the avg renter spends less. I feel 1.27 btc is actually pretty low, so there may be less. Math, logic.

Thats really short of the 81 PH Josh enquired about on twitter Smiley
Ok, so 81,000 ÷ .22 = 368,181 BTC a day... More than a week's worth of volume over all exhanges for BTC Roll Eyes divide that by how many people are realisticly mining, lets say 40,000 just to humor Homero, everybody is paying 9.2 BTC a day to mine paycoin. Now that seems realistic Roll Eyes

Are you sure nicehash and westhash numbers are separate? In that case my estimate above is wrong, it should be ~5 PH/s.
i presume so.. nicehash now showing Total speed: 1395.1799 TH/s and westhash showing Total speed: 1665.9608 TH/s

You're right, thanks.

According to this: http://paycoin.minerpools.com/index.php?page=statistics&action=blocks

Average difficulty seems to be 150m. Which means the average network hashrate is 10 PH/s I think, unless I messed up my math. Which would make rentals about half of the total.

There are three major rental sites: Nicehash, BetRigs, MRR. Total rented hashrate across all three is ~3.5 TH/s (possibly ~5 PH/s, see below), most of it is likely going to XPY.
