There is no need to discuss this video card anymore in this thread. I think that devil2man has already realized his mistake and will sell his video card or stop mining. The cooling system of these video cards is bad, they are not designed for mining.
The demand for similar video cards on the market is high, so this purchase may not be unprofitable.

in the end i could not resist and i bought it but the results are somewhat disappointing i am trying to mine aion but the profit forecast is 22 cents a week i hope to improve a little with the overclock

That can change and it can quickly go into negative territory with the price of aion changing or difficulty increasing, not that you are doing any profit even now. This is a clear mistake that you did while we all warned you that the GT 1030 is a junk card for mining as you cannot see it in any real calculator.I tried it in whattomine website based on real data which it could do 4.6 Mhsh in different Eth related algorithm like Ubiq and so on and every single coin it can do is already in negative, small negative like -0.10 USD daily but a negative.Looks like money thrown away to me unless you make use of this card to play non demanding games to justify somehow the cost of it.

With such a forecast, you will not earn even a dollar a month, and overclocking on these video cards is minimal.
For example, the 4GB Px 470 makes more than a dollar a day, and this is the most budget-minded graphics card for mining.
https://whattomine.com/gpus/24-amd-radeon-rx-470-4gb?cost=0.1
As you get tired of this mining, then change the video card to a more powerful one.

You cannot mine RVN with a 2 GB card because the RVN Dag file size is almost 3 GB right now so it is impossible to mine RVN coin.Your only options with this type of card are Ubiq which has a DAG file size of less than 2 GB which is at 1.44 GB right now and other coins like this based on Ethash but with Dag size less than 2 GB but the profit will be extremely low, nevertheless your card does not consume energy,I have seen 40 Watt for this card or less but don't know in mining so in the end these are your options.

Beside that many calculators online does not take into account this card and the ones that do give wrong values,so most probably this card is worthless for mining right now.
I have a question. I have been seeing gaming laptops such as the ASUS TUFF or the GIGABYTE AERO that have an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 graphics card. Can one mine some altcoins using such a laptop without any dangerous of frying it up?

I am in the process of buying one, but not sorely for the purpose of mining. However, having been into crypto for a few years now. I would like to just perform a test mining operation so that I get to learn the basics of mining alts using GPUs
Notebooks are not designed for such loads.
If you have a warranty of 2 years or more, you can fry your laptop Smiley
If this is your work computer, then you shouldn't.
You can break your working computer at any time.
I advise everyone to study mining on video cards, because with such a load they have been working for more than 3 years.

Nvidia GT1030 has relatively good performance on different variations of Cryptonight, megabtx, megamec and verthash algos. I'm using it for CN_GPU mining on zergpool. More info about mining on this GPU is here: https://www.cryptoprofi.info/?p=8338

It's possible but it's abuse. Even if it's a gaming laptop it's not designed for 24/7 full load. Heat affects everything inside, not just the GPU.
The battery is the biggest risk from heat and could cross the line into dangerous. At a minimum everything will suffer accelated aging
and will be prone to premature failure.

If you're only testing with short mining periods you should be OK but remember, the time mining is worse than the same
amount of time gaming.

This is a list of current video cards for mining
https://whattomine.com/gpus
If you hit a try, then buy the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti 4GB.
They should not be expensive, because miners prefer not to use these video cards due to the low hashrate.
But it is better to purchase more modern video cards.

it seems that my chances to mine with a 2gb gpu are really limited i am still undecided whether to buy it and mine ergo or wait and buy a 4gb gpu as soon as possible

If you can wait would be the best choice because Christmas is near and we all have a bit more budget at that time and who knows you may be able to even buy a 8 GB card at that time so you maybe able to mine a whole lot of different algorithms. What I would do personally is to wait as I don't like limiting myself to that card which is almost good for nothing and it would be a waste of money.

Mine Firo coin this will net you 23$ per month and you don't have to worry about low DAG size, the DAG is still very low too, 2GB mem GPUs are good for new altcoins, you can also try Ergo (Autolykos2)

GT1030s are low budget GPUs so not good for overclocking but yes you can use this card to mine ravencoin (kawpow algorithm), this will give you 8MH hashing power and you will earn 254 RVN coin per month, that's roughly 29$ per month
