I don't really get the benefit of vanity addresses. They may look cool at the first glance, but not only you need to spend extra time to generate them, you will also need to reuse the addresses which is a bad idea.
first it is cool to have an address starting with your name, other than that some websites and/or services use these kind of addresses to present their site without having to add public note

Do you mean vanity address that starts with a specific keyword ? Otherwise there are lots of offline wallets, among which Bitcoin-QT is the best.
