No, just stop.
During Obamas reign and thanks to wikileaks, public could finally see, that US is spying on its allies, effectively commiting industrial espionage.
What happened? Nothing at all.
Teflon Merkel merely stated, that friends shouldnt spy on friends. Bla, bla, bla, bussiness as usual.
This is just another half retarded attempt to somehow destabilize current administration of United States (thats quite unpopular among regressive left). Germany is not sovereign country and unless Americans start droping nukes on it, it wont change. Empty threats.
I think it is very unfounded to say that America can use nuclear weapons to the countries of the Allies. This is not only empty threats but also nonsense. We are not yet sure how the US will cope with North Korea.
I am aware, that the irony might not be clear for everybody. I did not say, United States will use nukes - please, you can leave your fallout shelter. I said, that unless Americans did something THAT horrible, intelligence sharing with their satellites will not stop.
There were far more serious instances of trust breach, Trumps mouth is next to kids play to it. Angela Merkel let it slide. By the way, Germany while for unknown reason being afraid of its own nuclear power plants also hosts largest stockpile of US nuclear payloads outside of United States. And also largest military base outside of United States (perhaps with Okinawa, I did not count all those little green men). What does that tell you? Do you see protests in streets?
NSA spied on Germany for decades primarily for industrial espionage, this was eventually acknowledged by authorities to be true, yet nothing changed:

US air base Rammstein hosts 60 000 US service men. Nuclear weapons are also present:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ramstein_Air_BaseSo, to be clear. This entire ruse is another demented attempt at making current administration untrustworthy. Not to Germans, since those are docile and have been for very long time. To the majority of voters in United States. If you noticed, US foreign policy in the past decade or so is not dictated by actual threats but by its impact on domestic public.
