I put together a short informational video for this promotion: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LdtdS1uibJA

If you own a Raspberry Pi, you should definitely set it up as a Peercoin node. It's a lot of fun, and is literally quite rewarding!  Wink

Could be as easy as adding a requirement of a pic of a kill-a-watt or something... ton's of low power arm boards on the market these days

Well this is definitely a great idea... let me take inventory of my unused pi's and I will see if I can get one running.

One last question, is this just for Pi's? Or would other low usage arm boards qualify?

Right now it is just for R-Pi.  But the program might be expanded to other hardware someday.

Yeah there's been a few requests to accept others, especially BeagleBone. It could be a possibility down the line.

Cool promotion

10 PPC was once worth 80$. Those were the days or were they?

Small devices are the future for cryptos. Peercoin's small blockchain design was a brilliant move on Sunny's part.

Giving away money?

Ok I will bite... do you have too many PPC or is PPC in that dire need of full nodes?

haha... sorry to disappoint, there is not too much money nor a dire need of full nodes.

It's just a friendly promotion that gets technical people involved and demonstrates in a nice manner how Peercoin Network is secure with full nodes on less than 3 watts per node.

Three watts per full node for security is pretty low cost; how much does your network have to pay? Smiley

There's no huge need for full nodes, at least that I'm aware of  Grin

It is mostly for encouraging people to use Peercoin on Raspberry Pi, though having new full nodes is obviously a nice benefit. We have other projects involving Raspberry Pi too, and due to Proof of Stake we are looking towards a future where the entire network could theoretically be maintained and secured by low-end efficient hardware.

It is also good for promotion as it gives newcomers a chance to easily get some PPC  Wink

Hi all,

I would just like to let you know about a project from the Peercoin community to give tips for setting up a full node on a Raspberry Pi. We already have 35 new nodes running as a result, and have plenty more tips available.

All you have to do is follow the guide to setup the node on your Pi, post in the thread on PeercoinTalk, and we will give you 10 PPC!

You can find out all the details here: http://www.peercointalk.org/index.php?topic=2800.0

Feel free to ask any questions here or on PeercoinTalk. Looking forward to seeing some new nodes Smiley
