I have a wallet with BTC in it, problem is I have good fiber internet (100Mbit), still I can download weeks and it still is not completing the blockchain.....
Restarting the client will connect you to new peers, which can potentially improve download speeds. Or use the blockchain torrent https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/ann-bitcoin-blockchain-data-torrent-145386 
if you are familiar wirh LaTeX you may want to try
Try blockchain.info but you'll have to get your keys out
