I was using postimages for a long time during the year 2017 to 2019, but I remember that a problem occurred. I do not know whether the reason was from them, or that the forum was not supporting their links. It is good to see them working.
In general, I prefer ShareX, they are open source and have many options, and you can easily do a video or Gif, and many formats are available.

Thanks for mentioning that Firefox has built-in Screenshots take . But what I have prioritized here is to get the direct Image link of that screenshot or image for adding in this forum.  But it's true that Image Uploader was also a good image hoster.

For taking screenshots you can also use Firefox browser and it works really good for someone who wants to use less software on regular basis.
There are other similar tools for uploading images with links that work in forum, I remember one called ImageUploader that is available for windows os and it have many server options.
Here is simple instruction how to make screenshots with Firefox:

This software along with the ones quoted by JeromeTash are very interesting and useful if you need to take and share screenshots frequently, thank you for sharing them. But if you don't want to install a software, I think imgbb.com is very convenient, because you don't need to save your screenshot as a file before uploading it there. You can just grab it with the Print screen key and simply paste it onto the uploading page there thanks to a basic Ctrl+V command.

I have personally been using ShareX for windows and Flameshot for Linux

Both screenshot apps are open source;
1. Flameshot - https://github.com/flameshot-org
2. ShareX - https://getsharex.com

When set up well, all you have to do is take a screenshot and a few edits if necessary, once you confirm, the uploading is automatically done to your preferred image hosting site and the image link is automatically copied to the clipboard.

First of all, let me tell you the main advantage of this post in my language,
  • Get direct links from screenshots for posting Images in forum.
  • No need to go to the website Separately for uploading those screenshots(Images)
I think we often face this problem for adding images to forum posts, we have to take the screenshots and post them separately on the image host websites, and then copy the image address link from there and then complete the process.  hope it will be useful for beginners at least a little bit and save our times.
Features:
  • Quick images sharing
  • Multiple images can be uploaded at the same time.
  • Upload images via the right click context menu.
  • The fastest way to do a customizable screenshot
  • Global hotkeys to activate screen capturing instantly.
  • And many more...                                                         (source)

First of all you have to Download this software from their website https://postimages.org/app
  • Install that setup File then follow these steps.
  • Their Default Hotkeys for taking screenshots or uploads
  • It's really pretty easy just press a hotkey from them . For now, I'm pressing the print screen key that we usually for screenshots
  • Then an interface like this will appear to you ,for knowing your requiring part.

  • select your screen for Screenshot or upload then press to the upload option or press (CTRL+D)

  • Your Screenshot is already Uploaded, you can choose your option from here. (recommended- Hotlink for forums)
  • Then copy and paste the link on your post and all done Wink

    Thank you All
