BitInstant has worked great for me in the past. All you need is cash and a WalMart or CVS nearby to buy BTC, and it's fast.
Also, Bitcoin-otc is a great place to find people who will sell BTC to you for just about any type of payment under the sun. Be wary though, it's also a great place to get scammed if you're not careful.

consider that you will either be paying extra fees by using bitinstant (moneygram fee). you may also want to contact the seller directly because i am on localbitcoins selling with a 5% commission and nobody seems to be biting, and i'm open to negotiate

Why is it so difficult? I've spent the past day or so trying to figure out a good way to buy them, and I have not found one. I do not want to send a wire for $30 that will not be available for 3 days. The only other quick way that I have seen is to deposit cash at a Chase bank location, of which there are none remotely near me. Why won't banks offer services that allow you to exchange money for them? It's so frustrating ._.
