Currently I am importing it from a website, but when the website goes down it messes up everything for me. I need this for other coins than bitcoins so there really are not a lot of good stable sites to grab the difficulty level from.

If you weren't aware, from the Bitcoin-Qt/bitcoind client there is getdifficulty API call:

Other clients might have similar capability.

I need a good and reliable way to get the current mining difficulty level imported into Excel. I would prefer it to be sent directly from cgminer into an Excel cell, but I am open to other ways as long as they are reliable.
