You need to learn what the hardware in your PC actually is and post it here.  If we know the hardware then we can give you an idea what it might be capable of. There are some good profitability calculators that you can check out as well once you know the hashrate your hardware is capable of you can enter it into the calculators, along with your power costs to estimate profits.

Bytecoins easy to mine yea, but almost worthless for the power you use - maybe even a loss

IIRC Bela is Scrypt based, so mining with a PC CPU or GPU is going to be pointless.  It's in ASIC territory.

Check out whattomine.com and compare your current GPU to the specs/recommendations on there.

CPU only, Monero and Magi are among your few options.  GPU opens up many more, anything Scrypt or SHA256 or X11 is going to not be worth mining with an ASIC rig.

Thanks for the reply. I visited the belacoin site.
And they have a page to 5 mining pools which i have to check out.

Which is better to mine with, cpu or gpu?

The PC i have has a 64bit processor, not sure about.
The graphics card but its not a new system, would i.
Be overworking an old(ish) system by starting mining?

depends what you computers are like and the hashrates they get, my experience of laptops and mining is bad, they just dont get the hashrates of a desktop equivalent and suffer a lot more from heat problems and throttling especially when its running at 100%. Bellacoin might be a good investment, supposedly a big investor is joining, though i think the meeting has been cancelled a few times so not sure if its true, also bellacoinv2 getting released soon, so either something might come of this coin, or its just getting pumped for a big dump coming up. Also have a check on zcoin and the mtp algo they are releasing in the next month, its going to favor cpu's and ram over gpu's and asics so you might be able to mine a worthwhile amount, or at least more than your electricity cost.
