Please edit your original post and remove 50btc from your list. The pool is essentially defunct and hasn't reliably paid-out in months.

How about adding Slush and BitMinter to your list instead? Also, there's a typo in your Eligius link.

50BTC.com = SCAM
no payout in more than a week and owner is not responding to forum

Not to beat a dead horse, but I'd stay away from Slush too. Your best bet is BTCGuild, Eligius, or Bitminter since they communicate with users on the forum and elsewhere. Anyone else you are taking too much of a risk in my opinion.

I have been on slushies for almost 3 months with zero issues... :S.

Hey guys, Anyone who is using Ghash.io to mine on might consider switching to BTCguild or any of the other pools.
35% of the network is running on Ghash.io and I don't think thats a really good thing for BTC..

Other pools:

https://www.btcguild.com

http://http://eligius.st/

To name a few.

Decentralize!

It's about pointless to even make a new pool unless you can bring in 300 th/s of power
so people can at least see they are making money.
One pool I play around on has 34 th/s and has not seen a block in a month.
How can a operator expect people to mine there with no payout in a month?
I'd love to open a new pool since every pool out there has either increased their fees/added fees or left them the same
since bitcoin was $2.00
P2p is cool if you have good latency and enough hashing power to do it.
I'm working on starting a new one and going from there.

Until then, at this magnitude of hashpower, 33% doesn't seem to be a big threat.

Assuming 33% is accurate. Blockchains pie graph is more of a pretty good guess than an accurate account of the distribution of blocks across pools. 25% of block finders are listed as unknown, it is possible that anywhere between 1% or more of the unknown could also be Ghash either by accident or via nefarious means.

So there is a chance they could be mining between 34% to even ( although unlikely ) over 50% of the total hashrate.

BTCGUILD has fees that Ghash does not, nor you can convert your NMC or IXC coins.
I have guild as a backup too but need lot more to become No1
after all its a world wide opinion so mine is only a small drop
all the users cant be fools

Latency is important with P2Pool so find a fast node close to you Wink

www.nogleg.com:9555

the latency fallacy again

It is a good mantra to chant to encourage people to set up their own nodes and keep things distributed.

However, it is a lot of work if you want to merge mine.

When someone with enough time on their hands decides that ghash.io is a big enough threat they may build a pool that will actually compete with it. It doesn't have to be 0% fee, it just has to have feature parity and I would switch, and so would many others I am sure. Until then, at this magnitude of hashpower, 33% doesn't seem to be a big threat.

P2Pool is ready and waiting!

Variance is higher, but payouts will be equal over time....

There are P2Pool nodes all over the world to choose from, mine is in the US East, check it out at http://mining.coincadence.com

0% fee, TX fees paid to miners, payouts directly from the newly generated coins....

Why should I move from ghash.io ( reliable, pays, good website) and go to another pool that'll just get bigger with everyone switching just because you said to?

well it's reported that 50BTC is not paying...so that is not a choice to tell people to go to. I mined at eligius for a while and was not happy with the way the payouts are done or that the stat page is always down. Which leaves us BTC guild on your list. I mined there before moving to GHash and find the pool operator the best for information and I use BTC guild for my back up pool and if I would switch this is where I would go.
