I don't see eBay making a site or a contract to any site with bitcoins as major currency.
Last year, eGifter did an interview about how great their deal with eBay was for people to spend bitcoins. How could eBay have entered such a deal without knowing that Bitcoin was a prominent component of eGifter's business?

It isn't surprising that a company to stop offering bitcoin as payment because they have the right to do so
I do not dispute their right to do such things. However, it is quite disappointing. What could have happened recently to make them back out of this?

the reasons for doing that is something that we can not accurately identify unless they state it themselves.
Fair enough. But seeing as eBay is not known for being friendly toward Bitcoin, I have to wonder, you know? Anyway, I know full well it could be something else entirely, which is why I added the "Or was it something else?"

By the way, eGifter's own Bitcoin promotion page (or whatever you want to call it) clearly states at the time I write this that you can "Buy any of our 200+ eGift Cards with your bitcoin" (emphasis mine). The great big graphic even features the eBay logo right on top of a stack! Dropping Bitcoin for eBay seems to be a recent thing, so they may just not have had time to fix it, but they do need to fix it soon.

When I asked, they told me they no longer offer Bitcoin as a payment option for eBay gift cards.
If this is exactly what they said than that mean ebay may have flagged them not to accept bitcoin payments to buy ebay gift cards as ebay and paypal both don't love bitcoin as it is non refundable.

That's quite a bad assumption you got there. It isn't surprising that a company to stop offering bitcoin as payment because they have the right to do so and the reasons for doing that is something that we can not accurately identify unless they state it themselves.

So, you may know eGifter recently started selling eBay gift cards. I bought a couple myself, the last one at the end of March. Now, I go to buy another one, but it won't let me use Bitcoin to pay. When I asked, they told me they no longer offer Bitcoin as a payment option for eBay gift cards.

Huh?? Does this mean eBay made a site with Bitcoin as a major selling point stop accepting Bitcoin for something? How lame. (Or was it something else?)

I see Gyft offers eBay gift cards too. Do they have the same issue, I wonder?
