up to 480-490 on gigabyte r9 270 stable under 70c temp

cgminer.exe --scrypt -I 19 -w 256 --thread-concurrency 24000 --gpu-engine 1150 --gpu-memclock 1500

--scrypt -I 17 -g 1 -w 256 --thread-concurrency 12000 --gpu-engine 1125 --gpu-memclock 1500

same card, run with this setting - 3 days 24/7 - no freeze  452 - 454 kh/s

Have a 5 card gigabyte 270 rig and I keep having either of the following things happen.  Display driver crashing constantly over and over like this

or I sgminer.exe will crash.

I tried your settings and it ran longer without a crash but I was getting hw errors. For the 3 hours it ran gpu 0 had 1 and gpu 3 had 10.  Starting to wonder if gpu3 is shot....

try --scrypt -I 19 -g 1 -w 256 --thread-concurrency 11776 --gpu-engine 1050 --gpu-memclock 1500
EDIT: try --scrypt -I 19 --thread-concurrency 2400 --gpu-engine 1129 --gpu-memclock 1475  seems to be the best my cards can do stable, 479~ khs

Been tinkering for days trying to find a good stable setting and this seems to be it as for now. Good luck.

I got the exact same Gigabyte card

It runs at 460 for about 5 minutes and then freezes

What are you mining exactly?

thanks for help mikeybit, settings you had were really close

seems to be a memory issue with my card, whenever memory is at 1500 it crashes, lowered to 1450/1460 and seems okay there

getting 450kh now with cgminer.exe --scrypt -I 18 -w 256 --thread-concurrency 14208 --gpu-engine 1110 --gpu-memclock 1460

I'm willing to bet if you lowered your gpu-engine you'd get a few more hashes out of it...

ok lower it and up the intensity?

how did you get so good at tweaking these settings btw?

Had to lower intensity and settings for my other card 7770, the positioning in the case makes it sit above the R9 270 and so the 7770 get really hot, above 80c (lowered its intensity to 14 at 74c and get it at 160kh instead of 197kh)

If i get more serious with this I'd like to build those open cases with risers but just playing around for now and still not very good at buy/selling/trading on sites, i usually end up losing profits.

Try --scrypt -I 19 -g 1 -w 256 --thread-concurrency 16000 --gpu-engine 1100 --gpu-memclock 1475

no hardware errors yet, hopefully it doesn't crash

spoke too soon, crashed a few minutes afterwards, i wonder if its my power supply... i don't have much in the system but its only 500w silverstone running a 7770 and the R9 270

I've got a gigabyte r9-270 at 455khs setting the gpu engine at 1098, memory at 1500, thread concurrency 16384, and the intensity at 18.  Stays around 70c

edit: started crashing eventually, my new settings down further.

R9 270 no x  (Official name is GV-R927OC-2GD revision 1.0)

Settings for 428kh =  cgminer.exe --scrypt -I 16 --thread-concurrency 12000 --gpu-engine 1125 --gpu-memclock 1500

I can up the intensity to 19 which makes it goto 470-480kh but cgminer would eventually crash an hour later, temps look fine but hardware errors would emerge at intensity 17,18,19 and crash so Intensity 16 is highest i can go at the moment.

Seen some others online stable at 450kh, which is intensity 17 for my settings but it crashes for me there.

Using Windows 7, might try Linux to see if i can stabilize it better there
