Yes, we had some problems with the winner. I think he was just trying to win another 0.009 BTC, so the whole thing left a bit of an bitter aftertaste. We gained a lot of followers though an hopefully some new app users.

I don't understand how someone could claim the reward with his username? Unless his account was compromised, which is out of our reach. We don't want to complicate things with signed messages and so on as we are planning to do lots of giveaways. One thing we might do is, at the drawing process, we will exclude account which are only retweeting and liking giveaways and not producing any other real content.

We also found out that on Facebook it is very hard to do a viral giveaway as most people don't want to tell other people about it, so they maximize the chance they win themselves. And you are not allowed to make it mandatory to share the post in order to enter the contest (FB rules). It still seems people are sharing, but on Twitter it was way faster. Any tip?

Everyone welcome to our FB giveaway, which is also $50 worth of BTC (ends on Thursday): https://facebook.com/TheCryptoApp

Congratulations to the winner and since I've got time to check, I've seen that the winner is claiming that you've sent it to the wrong person. I can't tell if this guy is legitly telling that you sent it to the wrong one or he's just trying to ask for another 0.009BTC.

Well, do you have plans of giving away $50 worth of bitcoin again in some other ways? if you want to gain exposure with your app, you should also start a signature campaign here in the forum.

Edit:
I guess you should require a bitcoin signed message for the address since many can claim that they're the winner like just what happened on your previous draw, mentioning the username isn't enough.

If not, you'll be dealing a lot of problems instead.
Yeah, you just posted to me earlier with few secs.  Grin

We don't know if that guy is telling the truth and the prize was sent to the wrong one. But for cryptoapp, they already paid it and no way that they will pay for another one.

They dont seem to have many followers on their site, 360 in total, but still they would be getting some cheap marketing and exposure and in return only one user gets awarded with $50 worth of Bitcoins.

Which is quite convenient, to reward a random user. Not auditable, so nobody knows of they are just rewarding their own...

That's why it's important to hire professional managers. OP take a look at services board, some good managers are looking for work there.

This is exactly why we are doing these giveaways. We have a great product and need exposure and we'd rather spend our BTC on real people than be paying big companies for advertisement. Every contest is auditable with publicly posted transactions and selection methodology.

Shortly we will be awarding https://twitter.com/TheCryptoApp/status/1124895068698107905. Don't miss your chance on Facebook.
