After your reading of the topic and if it is good. You can give it a point of maturity. All this in order to improve the quality of topics in the forum.

What is a sMerit, something smaller than a Merit?

sMerit pretty much means sendable merits. This is so the Merit points you have under your name doesn't decrease when you give someone merits.

You have Merits, those you cannot send.
You also have sMerits, those you can only send, they have no other purpose.

When someone gives merit to you they lose sMerit of the amount transfered and you gain Merit as well as sMerit (which in case you can send again).

Eg should I send 10 Merit to you for a post, my sMerit would decrease by 10.
Your merit would increase by 10 and your sMerit would increase by 5.

Merits are exclusively earned, but the sMerit part you also get keeps the circulation flowing.

(Ignoring merit sources here, for the sake of making an easy example.)

If you have not already spent any of your smerit till date all you would be left with is 7smerit
And do you think that's qualifies you to start such contest.
Merit is not begged for or should it be debated on if anyone deserve it or not

Thanks for trying to tell me what to do with my merits.
Try again next life.
My account is more useful than yours even tagged.
I don't give a single fuck what other people replied.
There is no quality posts than those from Satoshi itself.
Everything else is abuse, propaganda and censorship.

what is merit? I am newbie but I still don't understand why would I need merit to rank up?
isn't ranking up based in activity?

I need a ranking up.  Do I ever!!

I've been a newb since starting at the forum and I remain a newb.
WTF??? Did you literally just gave merits for these posts? I think you misunderstood the point on giving merits, its not for people begging it or even asking what is it for as they are the ones who don't deserve it in the first place. Didn't you saw what the other members have replied to you? You should have instead search for quality posts in other threads and not give it away like this. With what you did you just really wasted your merits by now.

EDIT
Oh now I understand, you got tagged from your previous actions here in the forum and you think your account is not useful for you anymore.

I tough we are free to do whatever we want without violating rules.

There are a number of actions you can make that do not violate forum rules but is unethical and frowned upon by the community. This could get you tagged at worse or put on the ignore list of other members and limit your chances of ranking up.
It is very possible to give out merits without making a spectacle of it, while rewarding quality posters.
I don't give a fuck will i get tagged or not.
I don't see nothing unethical giving newbies chance for rank up.
Stop rising your post count cunt.
I don't give a fuck is their post quality or not.
Like the way no one gives a fuck i tried to do something good but i got tagged.

Misuse of sMerits at its best.  Roll Eyes
Start a Merit Giveaway thread and give away the Merits to newbies who doesn't even know what Merit itself is, and promote them to Jr. member so that they can join a signature bounty campaign and spam the shit out of the forum. That's great!

Thanks for your useless words, enjoy the abused circle merit.

Pretty much what logfiles said. Never said it violated any rules. It's simply just pointless and very redundant. Not because you're free to do it, it doesn't necessarily mean that you should.

I’m not exactly sure either, I’d just assumed it’s ‘internet points’ but going by how wet everyone gets over them I guess there is more to it. I know merit IS required to rank up but going by 99% of posts on here I’m not sure how valuable the king shitposter crown is...

I’ve had a couple of merits recently for nothing other than posting normal stuff, and one for helping a guy fix his Ledger nano stuck in boot loader mode which I guess I’d merit someone who helps someone out.

Just make normal posts like you would in any other forum and not some wanky “how to use capslock in the internet” type posts and I guess what will be will be, I guess Smiley

Merits are needed to rank up (toghether with "Activity"),higher the rank, higher the Signature Bounties payouts

It's a great thing to do uplifting Newbies but it would really be nice if you could look around the forum and give merit to a couple of merit worthy newbie posts.

Imagine each one of us here who had merit just created a merit giveaway thread. What would the forum look like?
Would you love to log in each day and see each board with over 10 merit give away threads?

People would even stop on focused discussions on bitcoin and cryptos and would only switch the focus merits and merit threads which is not the sole purpose of this forum.
Take merits as something like retweets/likes. You get something you like, you Retweet/like it. You get something you dislike, you ignore.

Man, people should stop making these threads honestly. The threads from merit whales makes sense, but now what pretty much even people with a dozen merits create them? Just read around topics and conversations and give merit to people who  actually deserve merit; because merits were intentionally made to be given that way in the first place. Not from these types of threads.

As tittle says, i have no use of those sMerits so please, let me know why should i send you 1 merit.

While you surf through the various threads when you find a post worthy of the merit you can award that newbie with it.

I know what would be the reason on why you should give him/her a merit because he/she contributed and want to contribute to the forum and deserves a merit. I think the criteria is simple enough which is obvious what it would be. Have a good time finding newbies that are deserving enough to earn a reward from you.
