This could actually be a fun thing! To bad the only bitcoin users in my town are me and a couple of drug addicts (most of them are nice though)! Cheesy

I think its a nice idea if people could organise local events however bitcoins birthday is right after new years so people could already be partied out.
It would be better to co-opt new years.

Trying to get some video shoutouts for bitcoins birthday here:

What about a "three years till Bitcoin halving" day?

Hi everyone,

Coming januari it will be 5 years ago that Bitcoin was born (the genesis block)

Wouldn't it be great if we would use this as an opportunity to have a global party?
We could have a "Happy birthday bitcoin" in hundreds of cities across the world to spread the word about bitcoin!.

My idea was to find some sponsors in every country/city so that we can create a free event to just have a great time and tell people about bitcoin.
We already had some great events and conferences, but they all cost a lot of money to get into and i think we need to make it more accessible.

I am currently looking (in the netherlands) to get this thing off the ground,.

So:
- if there are people in the netherlands, willing to helpout, please let me know.
- Can we make this a global thing ?
