There were few attempts in the past for gold backed coins line OneGramm in 2016. But at the end all failed.

In general, I'm skeptical about those gold-backed ICO's. If you are gonna lock your money in gold (or any other tangible goods) why do you need the crypto-equivalent in first place. Keeping physical gold is expensive.

From current players, Puregold looks most solid choice.

it's always tricky to claim to be backed by gold because you're getting under sec scrutiny straight away. I honestly don't there is need for gold backed ico, as icos can be backed by the idea, team and development process and potential outcome.

I suppose that there are more speculations around gold than real bussines in most of gold backed ICO. Remembering the fraudulent pyramid schemes associated with gold "mining" or "trading" in 2010-2015, i dont have a trust in these ICO. Maybe it's stupid and a prejudice..
