Maybe a thin piece just for conductivity gold is one of the most conductive materials and is often used in electronics. For example the gold plated connectors for expensive audio equipment.

If it's gold it should have a little mark impressed on the metal indicating pureness degree of it (look for it with a magnifying glass)

hello today i screw up our old gold star telephone,model.Gs2000 ROTARY, MFG.DATE;1983. i found some metals that looks like gold i will like to know if this is a real gold?
