Goldcoin was one of the first cryptos I received years ago (lead was giving away some for signing up in their forums, or something like that). Cool I thought, free money, this will be like bitcoin!

Of course it wasn't... and isn't.

OP is apparently shilling Goldcoin as someone who 'found' it. It's a junkcoin, mostly used for pumps and dumps.

Then I looked more in to Goldcoin and saw it has similar features to Bitcoin and Litecoin but with some new features.

Dont you know there is like 1000 Bitcoin copies? It is simple to do it and you can use all bitcoin infrastructure. You dont have to do anything except chose a fancy name.

If I was to launch a coin I would never come up with the idea to call it anything Bitcoin because the branding the real Bitcoin has will just crush you.

Goldcoin > Bitcoin? No, definitely not. No coin in crypto is better than bitcoin.
There are certainly some promising alts, but I would say ETH and XRP are the only coins really that can take a decent proportion of BTC's market share. I don't think a new coin has much of a chance really, at least not in the short- to medium-term.
Bitcoin is still better than other altcoin types because Bitcoin's development team is a global community.  Bitcoin is not controlled because no individual or organization has stood out since Satoshi disappeared.  Other altcoin is held behind and every change in their route is an important event.  That is called concentration.  For example, in 2017 there was a rumor that the founder of Ethereum died of a traffic accident, which caused the ethereum value to drop significantly.

Yeap, this coin does not have the resources in marketing but if this coin can prove that it is better than bitcoin, maybe GLC will get some bitcoin market capitalization. But I'm still not sure whether traders and investors will trust this coin. Moreover, this coin is not developed by companies or famous people.

Do you know how much work and time and money went into Bitcoin right now? And still you think a fork comes around the corner and is better than Bitcoin even after almost a decade of coding from the best hackers all around the world?

I found this cryptocurrency called Goldcoin (GLC) via a p2pfoundation account a couple of years ago. I've been using Bitcoin for years now but it's getting very expensive and slower to transact in the present. However I've been looking for an altcoin to use instead of Bitcoin and tried ETH, LTC, XRP etc.

But for a change I tried Goldcoin and it worked well too. Then I looked more in to Goldcoin and saw it has similar features to Bitcoin and Litecoin but with some new features.

  • Proof-of-Work Blockchain
  • Scrypt Algorithm
  • 2 Min. Block Interval
  • 2 MB Blocks
  • 72 Million Supply
  • On-Chain Scaling
  • 0-Conf. Transactions
  • Free Transactions (5% of Each Block)
  • Every Block Retarget (Golden River Difficulty Algorithm)
  • Advanced Checkpointing with Difficulty Detection (ACPD)
  • Genesis Block : 2013 May 15

Also found in the news that there will be a new hardfork on Bitcoin blockchain in July called Reverse Bitcoin Hardfork (RBH) that will distribute GLC to each BTC holder.

Please do some research and I want to know your opinion about this currency.

Come on! Please do not compare this Bitcoin with projects that have no meaning. Do you really think it can be compared to goldcoin or whatever Bitcoin?

A new account meant to shill goldcoin?

There are many projects like the one you are shilling that kept on saying they are better than bitcoin when it comes to technology. Guess what? They are still behind bitcoin. Why not just focus on your own and stop using bitcoin's name and popularity.

the fact majority of platforms that used shilling accounts don't have a good credibility or reputation among the crypto users. goldcoin is such an example about bad the shitcoin is.
History of its coin said the fact when the shilling account was promoting it with a good words

I think Goldcoin was one of those forks when there was a wave of Bitcoin forks because the creators thought it is easy money (which it sometimes was for them). I would say almost none of them had geniune intentions for their fork projects except for getting filthy rich.

every now and then someone finds a random altcoin with no usages and thinks they have struck gold and lose a lot of money getting caught up in the pump and dump games that the pumping teams play on them.

this is more than enough to know it is a useless coin because it practically is telling us that it has been around for 6 years and it still hasn't done anything at all! there is literary 0 adoption and the only place it is used is on exchanges for pump and dumping!

The way I see it, the RBH is an ambitious project, more than just a casual pump and dump scheme.
But it's a double-edged sword.
It can be a hit, but if the team fails to deliver the promised supercoin, Goldcoin will fall into oblivion.
It's all or nothing now. See Bitcoin XT.

I don't mean to hurt anyone but in my personal opinion, goldchain is just another scam coin. They are just a speculative pump and dump coin for all these years and now they are forking bitcoin just to provide some buzz to the coin and increase it's price for another dump. You can check their price here https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/goldcoin/#charts
They are not even listed on a proper exchange for all these years.

Goldcoin is a community-developed coin. It is not backed by multinational corporations or banks or governments.
Subsequently, it lacks the resources for extensive marketing, and listing fees on big exchanges.

Nevertheless the promised feature set is impressive and its community is great, so I strongly believe that Goldcoin
has the potential to grab a few percentage of Bitcoin's market cap.

Regarding the transactions, Goldcoin could be ideal for beginners or for investors in developing countries.
One could jump in crypto without the need to pay the sometimes ridiculously high transaction fees.
