Would you invest 2000$ on a 140MH rig? Forget what the GPUs are I'm talking about MH wise, is this a good investment or a bad one?

I am ready to buy a RTX3070 (not LHR) at 1,600 CAD which gives in average 62.37 Mh/s to give you an idea!
$ 1,280 is a great price for this graphics card, but in the store you'll end up buying the LHR version.
In my country, 3070 non-LHR versions are currently on sale for $ 1900. Without a document and a guarantee, it can be a little cheaper.
If you show me where you can buy for your price, then I will sell these video cards Cheesy

Actually it's been 1 month and a half last time I bought a RTX 3070 on Ebay.ca so probably the average price has changed plus now there's more and more RTX 3070 Ti (which are LHR). You have to search on Google, you type the model name + "product page", you'll find the manufacturer product page and you have too double check there to be sure it's not LHR.

I was wondering if regular RTX 3070 (not LHR) will still be available for my next purchase on Ebay.ca or will I have to buy a different Nvidia GPU model.

That's a good offer but very hard to believe unless you are buying used GPU models only, we all know that a 3090 that gives 120MH is way over 2000$ presently, can you shed light on the model of the GPUs you plan on getting? I'm think it's old gtx or rx570/580gpus

You are asking the wrong question.
If you are buying RTX 3060 and RTX 3080, then this is a very good offer. If you are offered to buy a 5xR9 390 five-year mining farm, then this is a bad offer.
You will recoup your investment if the farm works perfectly, so which equipment you buy is very important.
Can 5x R9 390 gives 140M? I don't think that's possible, for OP I think 🤔 it's all about the hashing power (140MH) and not how many watts the GPU will takes or how old the cards are, it shows that very electricity is available somehow, my advice is to keep things tidy it's better to go for bigger cards unless price are too much, rx580 and 1660 super are great options

If the rigs is pc then is worthed, if asic better buying coin then, there is no single gpu can do 140mhs at this very moment, and dedicated gpu mining from nvidia has no resale value in the future, dual rtx 3060ti or 3070ti should be fit in your budget

If the rig contains like 2 big cards like Rx 5700 xt, 6700 xt plus a single small card like a 1660 Super or ti then I think it is very much worthy as if you buy these components alone you will pay more than 2000 dollars. If the rig contains old cards but in bigger quantity like 6 x 1060 then it is not worthy as those cards have been used really hard a couple of years ago when they were very efficient back then.It all depends on what is your gear,GPU-s are very important as the newer ones you get better hash rate also in Ravencoin mining a thing which you don't with old ones.

There was a full, used but in good shape with good hardware rig local to me right around this total hash and within 5% or so of price.  I was very tempted and was indeed going to make a lowball offer probably around $1600usd but just never got around to it.  These should be cards at or much greater than 6gb memory and it should be a price for a full rig, motherboard, psu and everything.  But seems like an ok price.  ymmv, not investment advice or anything.  Shouldn't be shitty cards with bad fans or anything, everything should be nearly 100%.
