So a question or two about PROHASHING.com --
1. Do you have to trade the mined coins automatically into the coin or currency of your choice? In other words, you can't keep the native coins that were mined? They have to be automatically converted into another coin for everything? If I mine .01 42 coin -- can I sent that .01 42 coin directly to my wallet for me to trade with my own strategy?
2. Also - how is your per Mh/s profit calculated? If I send 400Mh/s your way -- will it be accurate to say that I would average .18 BTC per day (based on your .00045527 Mh/s)? What is the per Mh/s profit calculated based on how much hash is sent? Obviously smaller miners can mine different coins than larger miners.
3. Why no NVC? :-) I like this one.
I'd be glad to answer your questions:
1.) We do not have the option to directly keep the coins that were mined. All coins mined are sent to our automated trading engine, which sells mined coins and buys payout coins at our six exchanges on a regular basis. This automated trading engine is part of the reason why we can maintain such a high profitability. Since we have six exchanges, the automated trader always selects the best exchange for buying and selling each coin, ensuring that our users make the most money.
2.) The profit calculation is really complicated and involves many variables. Put simply, comparing two identical miners, the only difference being their hashrates, we will pay the same rate to both, which is the average of all coins being simultaneously mined at the pool. The full explanation of our earnings calculation, all the variables involved, and reasoning for the choices we made is in the help section of our site. Keep in mind that the number posted is the average profitability of the past day; the current day's average profitability could be higher or lower depending on the markets.
We also have work restart optimization. We track how long it takes your worker to restart new work, and we will assign workers with long restart times (e.g. KnC Titans) coins that have less frequent blocks. For each worker and each coin, we calculate the percentage of hashrate that would be wasted in work restarts and then assign coins. It doesn't make sense for a worker to mine a coin that is twice as profitable as another coin if the more profitable could would cause the miner to be restarting work 60% of the time. You get paid the average payout of the pool minus a "work restart penalty," which is the profitability of the coin you were assigned divided by the profitability of the pool. In most cases, there will be zero penalty since you will be mining the most profitable coin, but even with the penalty, you will earn more money than you would on a pool without the work restart optimization since you get more hashes into the pool.
3.) The only reason we don't have Novacoin is because until now no one has requested it. If you would like me to add NVC, just let me know and I will add it to the pool.
