Is it still worthwhile getting back into crypto?

i think all knowledge which you have since 2011 is no longer worth because Crypto Currency Market changed a lot of thing. So if you want to go back Crypto the best you should study necessary knowledge.

The total market cap for all Cryptocurrencies is about the size of one large cap company. This shows there’s still plenty of room to grow once institutional investors enter the market.

In my opinion, time is good, but you must also be able to use it. Focus on one activity and do not drag your actions to great proportions. You will definitely succeed if you are patient and persistent.

If this is not the time to get involved with crypto, I do not know when it should be. Yes, there is a certain amount of people that were smart and/or lucky enough to get involved in the rightest of times, but we are still not nowhere near late to the party. We just need to enjoy its perks and help crypto shape the future - even though there are many ignorant people around us you can always feel that changing bit by bit. The future is bright fellas, and I am sure glad that I am part of this world and witness all of this amazing stuff happening. Cheers and HODL

There is no good or bad time to enter crypto (re-enter in your case). You should always be a part of this game!  Good or bad investment decision is something else though..
As for the wallet that you mentioned, you might want to check this analysis: https://www.tokens24.com/wiki/cryptocurrency-hardware-wallets/
Good luck!

It is always better than yesterday! I hope you understand me.
Blockchain technology is the future and it will soon be used in all segments of our life.
We will probably have the chance to see more coins  that will not be worth anything, but technology itself will soon conquer the world.

Now! Get back in track...what happened in the past should have served as learning so as not to repeat tje same mistake. Don’t be so easily discouraged. Mistakes, negligence, wrong decisions...these are all part of learning and becoming better. No need to be skeptical about getting back into crypto.. The opportunity to earn today may actually be better than 6 years ago... Wink

That's great advice- well put

I think blockchain is something we'll use everywhere in the future.

Even if lately there is lot of uncertainty around crypto (china, ICO, etc..), there is no doubt about the fact that every company in the world start to be interested by the blockchain.
And crypto will still know a lot of up and down but in long term, it will be bullish for sure.

So my advice, yes it's still the right time to get back on the crypto train.

it's wothwhile, maybe not for the mining but the entire crypto landscape offers a lot of opporunities besides that. The technology itself is worth getting into and you can for sure find some case study that you're interested in, and in which blockchain can be applied to. Since February 2016 things have seriously taken off and you can see the market cap going from about 10-20 billion to over 150, so you get an idea of what growth we're talking about. There are alot of activities you can get involved in, helping projects, trading, moderating communities - that all depends on how much time you have and to what degree you want to commit. Buy and hold is still as important as it was back in the days when you used to mine, so that'd be my suggestion to you as well

I think it is. Why not try? Remember giving up is always worst choice you can make. I had break from crypto too, I sold all my coins (NAV and few others) back in 2016 and realised in 2017 NAV was 2$. Mining will be hard but possible if you have money to invest in good mining ring. I have a friend with 7X 1080 Nvidia's and he is making profit in Poland for sure using wwww.nicehash.com

I have 2X Radeon's 270X and I mine only crypto only few hours a day, my work commitments (mixed shift patterns) not allow me to run miner 24h. It's a couple of dollars only for 2 weeks mining.

On the other side investing in ICO's or coins is the way to go. Bitcoin is slowly rising too.. Price predictions are 7500 then 10.000 I know it sounds crazy but last time I heard that about 2000$ price. I personally invested small amount of my monthly  income in few ICO's - and I will keep them for long term and I might get rewarded one day. Stick to rules not invest amount you can not afford to lose and you should be just fine.

i asked the same question when Bitcoin hit $1000 USD.  I regretted not getting in at that time once it reached $2,800.  I finally got in at around $2,400 and I'm glad I did.  Stellar Lumens jumped 166% a couple days ago.  BitConnect has soared into the top 10 recently.  There's so many opportunities out there that any time is a good time to get into crypto.  Just do your due diligence first and actually know what you're buying.

Anytime is a good time to get into crypto, but it will be best if you get into it now instead of waiting more years.

Price is getting higher and higher each day last week it just hit the all time high of $5800, even if it is falling right now
the graph will still go up. So for you not to regret it get into crypto as early as possible. Don't wait for the price to go
back to the 3000 level as it might be impossible.

Watch and learn before taking the plunge. After a while you will recall the recent history of a coin/alt and have a better idea of whether the price is good, bad etc.
Also, start small and check the fees on different exchanges

The crypto subject is more and more common in mainstream media, which means that each day they become more popular.

Of course, it is worth getting interested in - in my opinion it is the future of financial markets.

As for mining, unfortunately it is not as profitable as in 2011 but you can still find some altcoins with low dificulty, so you can try.. But with so many alts on market it is much more difficult for them to rise the price.

getting into crypto tomorrow is later than today.. there is never too late if you can make the most of it.. hit me in PM if you want some tips

In my opinion it is never too late. You just have to break the barrier of fear of a possible failure. If you hesitate, do not go into it because you will never be sure of yourself. Unfortunately, if you want to earn more for less, there is always some risk.

I think crypto investment is like creating and storing assets, where value of asset increase exponentially. But user must have aware of all possibilities about specific cryptocurrency before making investment.

Due to blockchain and cryptography technology many new innovations are still to come, but till dates investment in right cryptocurrency can make more rich that never think before.

It has always been a good time to get into cryptos, only that the price have been increasing a lot in the last days. Just check the charts, the only ones who have been decreasing are the altcoins, and those who nobody know anything about them. But if you want to invest, then do it now that there is a big bullish trend approaching, so you can make some profit from that, the same applies for alts, they are so cheap now.

yep, BTC price rise for sure this week,, while ETH remains stable and decreasing a bit... I think, the faster you start investing again, the better ~

Ofcourse it is... there are a lot more ALTcoins than earlier you might wanna check...

If you've been dealing with crypo earlier then you will not need too much time to get back into business. I guess you've mastered the basics a long time ago. If you're thinking of going back to mining jobs, then you will need to invest a lot and currently the ROI is a very long. Although this depends on your personal circumstances.

The altcoin market have started falling from the August of this year and still it is not recovering. I would like to suggest you that if you wan to get into the market then go for the trusted coins like bitcoin, eth, dash etc. This coins are safest to invest and very well supported. You can find lots of cheap altcoins but they are not safe enough to invest.

I was mining bitcoin back in 2011 but lost my wallet/gave up etc etc...

Is it still worthwhile getting back into crypto?

Yes it is because there are many opportunities in crypto as long as you know what you are doing. There are a lot of options like mining, trading or joining bounty campaigns. Every now and then, there is an announcement of a new coin that would offer a campaign and it is a good opportunity to join or you can even invest on it and join the ICO to buy the coin when it is cheaper. There are many successful ICOs and there are also scam ones. Make sure that you research first if their project is viable and the developers are not the ones involved in scam ICOs before. In trading also there is a lot of money to be made because of volatility as long as you know the right time to buy and sell.

Welcome back. Yes, it is definitely worth getting back to the crypto world. More and more people are getting in, don’t be one of the last.

If you are thinking to start mining again, check out the mining calculator to see whether it is still profitable. As the mining difficulty has changed since 2011.

Otherwise, you can always buy some bitcoin with fiat. Good luck!

Its a good time if bitcoin is growing, this certainly seems the case as numbers of users and usage is still rising so I think the answer must be yes.     As far as mining I would mostly say the time has passed for casual mining by very small scale operations, I used to mine as well and its been a while since I did any.   I wouldnt risk buying into BTC mining not because I dont think BTC will go anywhere but its become more commercial and the scale is now business sized.

I wish it was still home based personally, I think it would have more distribution around the globe and be a positive but its not that way.   If you want to experiment there is still alot ideas and new chains being started in crypto generally, nothing wrong with that.   Anyone can ask for BTC as payment and generally I think thats worthwhile as an interest not a business unless you pick up a particular idea  Smiley

I was mining bitcoin back in 2011 but lost my wallet/gave up etc etc...

Is it still worthwhile getting back into crypto?
Of course it is still worthwhile, because crypto is the future. If you wont enter now, you will regret. I have no doubt that blockchain will change the world and for me important is not only getting profit, but being part of progress.

If it's the best, we unfortunately only know later, but it's good in any case.

Now we can say that back in 2011 the prices werer very low and we should have invested, but it's also possible that we remember the year 2017 with btc prices lower than 5000$.

That's why it's always advisable to get into cryptocurrency!

OP, welcome back!
Best time to enter crypto is NOW.
Best time to enter crypto was 6 years ago Smiley

Now mining (btc, dont know about other coins) wont be so efficient as it was years ago, but trading is always relevant and always will be.
Imo, any time is good to start trading.

Honestly it will be hard to predict bitcoin but if you are not weak hand holding your bitcoin for a  long time you must ready what will happen sometimes in bitcoin because bitcoin is unpredictable if you know how to hold your bitcoin and are strong to hold them even you are seeing the price of bitcoin was gradually decreases you should still need to hold your bitcoin so that you can't be lose of profit instead you can make a profit because bitcoin will be more popular the price of bitcoin will continue to increase and more business online will accept bitcoin..
If you  can compare the price of bitcoin before and now its totally different.. and you can realize that bitcoin can be potentially increase its value in the future..

If you mean getting back into mining -- may be worth it, but will depend on your electricity price and require a lot of commitment.

If mean getting back into crypto in general -- it's always worthwhile to get back into crypto. Just watch out for scammy ICOs, useless alts and other questionable investments.

Agreed its always a good time to get back into crypto on longs you a Hodl  Cheesy

Mining is always tricky especially if you 're not willing to reinvest in hashing and have plans for scaling up.

Depends on your financial situation.  If you can afford an investment that you can afford to lose, wont drive you crazy looking at the price volatility, and ok with not seeing an actual return on investment for a couple of years, then my suggestion is always yes.  yyIMO, the price will keep going up long term, short term after you buy back in you might be in the red and lose some money, but eventually it will go up.  There is still so much room for growth, and so much opportunity.  Still early in the game, and best thing to do is put some money down you can afford to lose and feel invested in the community.  Best of luck in whatever you decide to do.

Also, do you still have the wallet.dat file for your old wallet?  If so, ever think of a brute force app or a password cracking service?  They take a % of the total funds if/when its recovered, but better some money then no money?

Buying coins is still worth it, but mining, you need to mine other altcoins since bitcoin mining requires a lot of power and expensive hardware to get profit (or even breakeven) from it. After that you can sell your altcoins for btc then hold them until you get some nice hefty profit. It's never too late and it's always worth it.

Wink

I would say yes it is a good time to get back into crypto, not just bitcoin but there are a lot of other projects out there now in comparison to 2011.  I hope you didn't lose too many coins as I would imagine mining back then you would have gained a handful at least.
