Hi. Someone changed my Google password and I can't recover this account because it is set to usb key recovery.

There is nothing serious in that email account. But now I will have to change email to all of my apps.

I there a way to contact Google support?
Have the support replied you? or have you created a new account instead mate because I have the similar problem but instead of someone changed my password, it is me that changed this but forget what is the new one so i cannot access my account though that is a throw away google but there is a single thing I need to open there.

Thanks for the link. I use tablet S6. There is also nothing important. I use secure notes to keep some partly important info.
Since there is nothing important on that email account meaning this is a throw away account ?
if yes then It is better for you to just forget it and create another one to link all your apps because
compromised account will likely a not so safe to use again not unless the Support helps you change
everything but you need to prove your complete ownership first.

Well if there is 1 thing I did learn after all those years. It is that Google does not have a very good customer service system for us to use.

If someone did hack your google email just forget about that email. There is not going to be a easy fix for google to give you the access back to your email.

Did you try using like using your phone number to reset its password and even going through added email recovery for the code??

I remember when Google used to give us option to choose when we created our gmail account, now it doesn't exists, which I hate more google for it. I lost an account previously.
If I am not wrong, the attacker changed every detail that connected to the actual user when the account compromises and this account hack is very common but mostly targeted influencers to take over their social media account and OP must have been clicked a malicious link that has been sent which is why none of the recovering methods provided will work until the support team analyze the IP changes and revert the compromised account.

You over-connected your email to a new and possibly unfamiliar platform without going back in the settings, a 3rd party can take over even remotely, if the future happens again you can learn from the past like this, because email is like a wallet that sends otp and authentication to access web credentials or platforms.

Actually, email is a container for important data for some people's purposes, but there are those who have a backup email like you experienced. You can switch to another email for your account, and I usually install double protection on my gmail such as active cell phone number and a2fa authentichator. I guess you can do what you like when surfing the internet.

Better remove that email from your connected device but if the email has cloud storage and all your data like contacts and other info has been synced then you need to do something to safeguard your security.
That is what I was about saying, he should remove that Google account connected to all his app by replacing a new one. And be very much careful this time. Because if there is any delay they could use it against him. He is very lucky the Google account has not been used for serious activities otherwise most of his relevant things would have been tampered with.

In some cases new phone and new Gmail would be advised. Because the Gmail that was tampered still has the IP of the phone. Thou I don really know whether that would be risky or just it can't cause any harm.

It's possible to contact them through a phone call, check this link --> https://sites.google.com/view/talk-to-a-human-at-gooogle/home

If you want to recover the email, you can with the help of the support and it's free. But if you don't want to spend time then all you have to do is to logout that email for most of the devices where it is logged in.

In your case, if it's only on your tablet and nothing serious then that's fine and good to hear.

Secure a hacked or compromised Google Account

This is posted by the Google support center itself, definitely it is possible to recover your account but it's a kind of more tedious process if you aren't able to verify your identity.

Better remove that email from your connected device but if the email has cloud storage and all your data like contacts and other info has been synced then you need to do something to safeguard your security.
