I thought it would be used when you logged in or processed a buy/sell order, though it is probably good to be a bit neakier from them to stop hackers!

For me it would be better if you enable it. In addition, HashNest also recommend users to have it to ensure the accounts safety and avoid hacking. As far as I know, you'll receive a text message with a verification code every time you log into your account, and maybe yes, when you withdraw your coins as well for an extra level of security. If you don't receive any code in your phone, you must double check that the phone number is correct. However, if you will still encounter any problem, I think you already need to send a ticket to Hashnest's support.
Then my phone's inbox will be spammed due to the remote login warnings.
Also, this was about Google authenticator instead of SMS verification.
