I have installed google authenticator to use it for 2fa with bittrex and a couple of other exchanges. I don't understand how can I take backup of my google authenticator application? If I loose my device or if the app gets deleted, how can I then find the 2fa to login to various place I use the app to login with? Should I take screenshots of the barcode that are shown in bittrex and other websites and then again scan them in new device, will this work?

If you search on the net there are a couple of methods to backup the google authenticator data (google for authenticator backup), but I didn't use that.
What I did use is the "secret" string. All (or most) websites show along with the barcode a string (which they call "secret"). That is just as powerful as the barcode and google auth can be set with the too. You can test, you'll see the returned numbers are identical.
So you have to backup the secret string.
