We really hope that dangerous applications that can cause negative things for bitcoin must be immediately blocked by Google, because the way to find enthusiasts to enter the crypto world must be explained more to the bitcoin process and its performance so that there is no more fraud in an investment.

The easier it is to make applications, so that anyone can make fraudulent applications, even for only $150 then we can have the Android application we want, this is what we have to be aware of, they take advantage of the popularity of crypto to cheat and most of them are cloud mining and HYIP programs.

If they don't make any positive contribution both on the playstore and crypto ecosystem, it's a welcome move by Google who doesn't want to abet them for whatever wrong doing.

Btw I have noticed all the banned apps have to do with cloud mining apps are these not just targeting user data because  as far as I know 2021 cloud mining isn't has popular as it was.
And it is a good thing that is not as popular as it once was, cloud mining is a scam and anyone that invest in it is going to lose their money, there is no way around it, and when you begin to think about that it does not really make a lot of sense, why would anyone sell their hash rate if they could mine bitcoin with it and earn money that way? The only explanation is that they cannot and they are selling their hash rate to people for huge prices, and that is assuming they have mining equipment which in the majority of the cases this is not true.

Report them if you see them, that's the only way we can help Google find the scam applications that are taking over their platform and stealing money from a lot of people, and the desperate ones.

Crypto Holic - Bitcoin Cloud Mining

Daily Bitcoin Rewards - Cloud Based Mining System

Google is already aware of what is happening in crypto and they are just being protective towards google users .
we also knew how great scammers, hackers and cheaters in this area(cryptocurrency)and so this is why google is acting towards protection of the users.
i admire this now for making action when the last they did is not a good idea banning bitcoin ads in their platform but at least now they are banning scam or possible  scams.

They should've done this earlier, and I think the reason why these apps got banned is due to mass report and the amount of users it has scammed, the amount of profit that these scammers have earned throughout the years, just imagine how many people actually invested money here just to make them think that they'll be able to mine stronger, can't blame them for lacking knowledge but the fact that these scam apps got away is what breaks me the most.

I think 80% of the cloud mining sites are scams. Few might be legit but difficult to judge between them.

It's a good step to help reduce most of this scam minning apps from this very singular act I'm feeling the cloud would become very safe for crypto transactions. My only appeal is for Google team to also look into most of the scam exchanges as well as some scam crypto gambling apps on playstore so we reduce they level of cyber scams

When countries are easy to ban crypto sites, developers use applications on Android and Apple, this makes many fraudulent applications such as cloud mining and crypto, of course this creates a bad reputation when the application is proven to be a scam, as users we must be active to always report applications that scam, because many people are deceived.

As a company that very popular and legal Google should do this. Actually google should prevent other similar new apps, banning the app will not stop the people behind it, I am sure that they will create new one. In my point of view this is a part of professionalism, google should protect their customers. Not just something that related to money but also data and device. I hope google also bann some app that offers money lending illegally, my cousin ever fall into that trap and must pay high interest. If it's related to money google should extra strict. There are also so many good cryptocurrency related app such as wallet that provide stacking option and etc, now I have some mobile wallet app in my smartphone.
While this is something that Google must do as it is the responsibility as the application store they are offering is their product and they need to do the best they can in order to avoid something like this, at the same time people need to learn how to protect themselves, despite the best efforts of Goggle this is not going to ever be enough and many malicious applications are going to make it through and at that point you need to be able to distinguish that the app you are about to install is a scam.

Are there any legit crypto mining apps on Playstore? If yes, What are those? I tried to find out many crypto mining sites but all of those were scams.
Try StormGain.

They are an exchange but the app has a free cloud miner.

Profits from trading using the withdrawn faucet funds only
Honestly, I just heard about StormGain, later I will take the time to check the exchange. But with so many crypto mining apps that are scams,
it makes me hopeless to believe that there are legit crypto mining apps. So it's been a long time since I chose to avoid using crypto mining apps,
I prefer to make money by staking or trading.
especially since I am still new to cryptocurrency, where I am not interested in mining activities. and currently I am making money from cryptocurrecy through bounty campaigns and trading and investing. but I will also try the storm gain, moreover there is no risk in it

It's exactly what you do as a beginner, don't try to get involved with mining activities first. There is a lot of knowledge that needs to be learned
to understand mining, it's better if the newbie really focuses on trading and investing to be able to make money. Then you can try to join
bounty campaigns to make money, maybe you will experience a lot of disappointment when participating with bounty campaigns.
Because right now, there are indeed many bounty campaigns that end in scams, but as long as you don't spend money, it's not something
to worry about. Maybe you will only lose time, but it can be a lesson and experience in the crypto world.
Reasons why they do easily get hooked with these things? Due to fast earning without doing much work or effort and i cant really deny into that because when im still a noob
i do still have these kind of impressions plus your inside greed will surely be poke up which will result into such investing without proper research on how reality works.
Its just right that these companies or platforms would ban out these kind of scammy apps so that no people would really get victimized and lost up money.
Aside on these apps then we should be mindful on our steps even on the outside market.

Both google and apple's app store, are a centralized store. They argue that this is to protect the user from malware, but in reality, it's only to maximise their profit.

A free appstore wouldn't let malware live for very long if based solely on reviews. 1 single negative review would almost for sure prevent anyone from downloading that app.

Good riddance I'd say.

There are simply too many illegitimate crypto apps that are ruining the reputation of crypto in general. I think that it is far better to have some sort of content moderation there than none at all.

As long as there is no active censorship without reason I think that there shouldn't be any issues.

Hope that it can be rectified in a unified way.
Don't believe this kind of mining.

I think Google has been very slow in processing fraudulent applications like this...

Bitcoin mining applications and other Ponzi schemes that take advantage of the popularity of bitcoin are still widely circulated on the Play store and Apple Store. I think this must be resolved quickly so as not to swallow more victims.

yes.. I surely agree with you
Actually its really hard to determine basing up on numbers of apps that do really get listed on the app store and not only just focusing on crypto based app but other apps as well.
Although its just hard to think that for a big company or known one wont really be making out some issues but for sure they do already keep an eye on it.
For now it would be always talking about users own research and common sense. You wont really be finding this to be a big problem if you do
just know on how to spot out a scam.

It is well know for the people who have been in the crypto business for some time now that cloud mining are just a scam and a pyramid scheme, bitcoin and crypto are a market where the scam business is spread especially since the popularity of this industry is raising at a high rate, and that is one of the reason google took actions to ban crypto ads and now they lifted the ban and it is good to see them taking serious moves to combat the crypto scam without influencing the legit ones

Damn, all of them are indeed scam. It is a good action from google and it will protect users from falling into these kind of traps. Those businesses need to be verified carefully because 99% are pure scam so that I suggest you should not involve in. Why dont you stake your coins in some reliable defi project. They are much more profitable and safer.
But this is precisely the issue with all of this, Google is doing the best they can in order to get rid of any malicious application that could be uploaded to their store but this is never going to be enough, people need to learn to recognize when something doesn't look good on their own, that way you gain a way to protect yourself without the need of a third party and even more importantly you do not give those scammers any possibility of getting to your coins at any point in time.

I'm wondering why Google still doesn't ban Pi Network if the Pi network claims to be a legit mobile phone mining app because from what I remembered about Google play store, mining apps aren't allowed on the store. Even though there have been numerous debunkings of this application, many people are still duped by it. People are stubborn and prideful, and they refuse to accept the fact that it isn't a legitimate mining app if we use the fundamentals of crypto mining as a basis to check this Pi Network.

Based on this news, the removal of these apps has since been reported. This means that Google's actions to remove malicious applications are not based on independent research, only rely on reports from application users.

The Pi Network still has a lot of staunch fanatics, maybe on the one hand they are defending the Pi project so Google is still considering removing it. After all, Goolge play is still at its weakest in handling malicious apps.

I'm actually glad to see this happening.  I've seen way too many issues with web providers and social media outlets that allow way too many scammy things to be going on in their platforms.  YouTube, who of course is owned by Google, has a ridiculous amount of scams being promoted via ads that they are essentially doing nothing about.  I hope that this is the first/right step towards better security in that regard.

Is the war going on? When will Google stop hating crypto?
I think Google does not hate crypto but they delete an app containing malware, suspicious content or even a virus inside the app. Those apps are about cloud mining which does not give you profit at all. Google will have its rule on how they will ban the apps and this time, Google is doing the right thing to ban those apps so their user will not get the worst experience while using those apps. Hopefully, Google will be aware of the other apps that look suspicious and will investigate to find out more about the app so when they see something wrong from the app, they can directly ban and delete the apps from their list.

More than hundreds of Bitcoin mining applications are currently available on Google, various models, names and methods, 8 names of Bitcoin mining applications are banned, I don't think it matters for those who do Bitcoin mining, there are hundreds of others that can still be used.

The possibility that it is prohibited is a dangerous scam for miners and google.

Thank you for this information, I did not know before how to flag an app before, the link is very useful, but I have only just glanced through it, but I will make use of it even for other apps that are fake and waste of time.

I have no experience about the pro version, I did not use it because it demanded for money when I wanted to download it, but we all know how bitcoin mining is not profitable on phone, we can even say that bitcoin mining is no more possible on phone.

When I used the lite version in 2019, bitcoin mining difficulty has not been increased up to this point, bitcoin price during that time was $7000 to $8000. I even thought the app is using 1 satoshi for the mining progress, thinking I was gaining, it was later I know the number counting was 1/1000 or 1/100 of a satoshi (I have forgotten the exact mining amount, but it is either of the two). It can makes phone to be hot, though you can reduce the mining power, but the highest mining power is not profitable.

What I later know about the app is that it uses referral to also reward people, but the actual mining is a total shit.

This is not the first time I have heard that Google banned some mining apps on playstore, they should not think twice before they ban those apps because how can bitcoin be mined on phone, it is complete no possible. While most of them are cloud mining apps which is a way to scam people.

But I am still wondering why CryptoTab has not be banned when it is among them
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=pro.cryptotab.android
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=lite.cryptotab.android

All cloud mining apps are fake, they should all be banned.
If you think that they are doing same like all recently banned apps then submit a report against this app and mentioned the exact reason during your submission. I am gonna take a look from my end soon and if I found similarities like all 8 banned apps then definitely they will get a report from my side.

That is what Google should do, protecting us from scammer who tried to stole our money. I think they should have special team that legally takes care of crypto applications available on playstore, so at least newbie can learn to earn in Google supervision. But even so, in general crypto will still be very dangerous for users who are not careful and don't want to read, so my advice is to ask an expert assistant if you want to do cloud mining and some action like that, Don't be persuaded by the profits offered, but think about losing your money if you transfer it to someone you can not trace their whereabouts.

Thanks to OP that willing to write it and inform us!

It was about time google took action about these so called fake apps which in turn scams investors
Too many victims even before they took action but this is better than no action at all. They only need to continue this as part of the crusade to eliminate scam apps on their platform.
There are thousands of such online apps in the world of cryptocurrency that are constantly cheating. All the above mentioned applications are the voice of the people for extra profit Coming with cheating. However, the Google authorities have deleted the above apps from their playlist list. Beware of those apps.
They can't remove all of them at once but let's hope that they're into a clean up that many of them will be gone soon.

^ We can also help Google too if we found apps that scam or something related to the fake app, we must report by them so that they will take action on it.
But obviously, these are all mentioned the OP is very suspicious, mining crypto wallet app that you don't have your own control over is a common scam wallet that we must be avoided. There are too many app wallets like this that are also used by the airdrop, sometimes they registered this on google but I don't how is the process of filtering apps on Google service that even scam apps or fake apps were successfully listed on google play store.

Google needs to step up their game in preventing the flood of fake apps into the Google Play Store; it is dangerous for users when they unknowingly install a fake app on their device thinking it is from Google Play; the action is long overdue, especially in the crypto space where funds are involved; it is easy to have so many fake apps in disguise as the original only to defraud people of their money; the action is long overdue; especially in the crypto space where funds are involved, it is easy to have so many fake

Cloud mining applications are indeed scam and its just right that Google would really ban or remove those apps for the protection of users. Those are just pretending that users who download are indeed doing some mining but its not because in the end of the day it would really be just requiring for you to make out some deposit before you could withdraw.

As long they wont really be deleting those useful and legit apps then it should be fine but deleting these is just really right and i dont really have objections with this or the entire community
surely does.

Google playstore have their own terms of services for uploading apps to their playstore. If the apps indicated to be stealing people data those apps will be taken down by them.
I have experienced that my developed apps been in playstore for 1 month and then get removed because in my apps there is an engine to track people device UUID in purpose of cheating preventing because that was an apps for employee's present.
So i think it's not about the crypto the google remove them, it's caused those apps break the rule of google playstore itself

I thought at first that their Play Store banned those legitimate apps again like back in the days when they banned Metamask. Kind of remembered that news, lol.

An informed individual wouldn't fall for these cloud mining schemes obviously, OP. I wouldn't even consider using any crypto-related app in my mobile, as my phone is usually exposed to many public networks/wifi. I wouldn't want for the same thing to ever happen again back in January 2020 where my account here got compromised, but I manage to secure it finally.

For my news source by the way: https://cointelegraph.com/news/google-play-lifts-ban-on-ethereum-browser-extension-metamask

Google Play store bans 8 crypto mining application
It’s really good that they have taken action against these apps, although I am not the type that’s going to fall for any of these apps ever again. I have had the experience quite a few times. I have used these apps and the experience was very bad, what they promise is not what they give. You will spend a lot of time on these apps and at the end you’re just a tool to generate income for them, cause you’re going to be viewing lots of adverts on their platform (they are always filled with annoying adverts). They are just used to generate income for the devs and cheat the users, nothing much.
- Watching ads and the creators getting paid is only a small part of these apps, there are quite a few that will announce a security upgrade and asking users to take pictures of personal documents as well as some cases will be a small fee, after quite a few days of hard work, perhaps many people don't regret a little bit of money to receive big money. It is possible that malicious code will also penetrate during the upgrade process and the phone contains a lot of privacy, Google Play probably also received a few tickets and reported such errors until making this decision to ban

Bitcoin Miner - Cloud Mining
Bitcoin (BTC) - Pool Mining Cloud Wallet
Daily Bitcoin Rewards - Cloud Based Mining System
Bitcoin 2021
MineBit Pro - Crypto Cloud & btc miner
Ethereum (ETH) - Pool Mining Cloud
Crypto Holic - Bitcoin Cloud Mining
Actually, not only 8 fake cryptocurrency mining applications are scattered online. Based on Trend Micro Mobile App Reputation Service (MARS) data, there are more than 120 applications available online.
These applications actually do not have the ability to mine crypto money and trick users into watching ads in the application. I am very grateful to Google, for telling me, if I don't observe and learn well, I will definitely be stuck..

Whoever has a little bit of knowledge of mining, at least if they know the rules of mining, will never use such cloud mining apps. Because they can immediately say that these apps are fake and possibly contain malware. Because cloud mining is mainly ponzi scams. They ask you to invest and promise to give you a return against your deposit. All rules are same as ponzi but in the disguise of cloud mining.

I am happy that Google has finally taken some action agains these fake apps. They should have done it earlier.
And the worst part is that those people that downloaded apps like that got hit twice not only they are being scammed by people like this, it is also possible those apps contained malware of some kind and they lost any money they were holding in the wallets they installed in that smartphone. It is a shame that people are still falling for this when in this forum we have known for years that cloud mining can be nothing else but a scam.

Yes that's right, I've installed Bitcoin miner and crypto holic, it's impossible to withdraw because we have to deposit a minimum of 100k satoshi, there are still many applications of this kind and I hope we are more active to report to Google if we encounter this application.

If you didn't deposit, then good for you. Most of the time they have to reach the threshold only to see the requirement so wasted time and effort.

I am not really sure about this, I think they go indept to know the sites are actually fake and scamming people will be the reason, because if they remove those that ask money upfront, CryptoTab pro would have been removed.

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=pro.cryptotab.android

You can check it from the playstore, you will see that money is required before you will be able to download the app, the money is requested to increase the mining reward. I have never downloaded it before and I will never download it.

True that, but the base version remains free to use, and this Pro version does make it clear what it does (as it claims that "for everyone who wants to use all CryptoTab services directly on Android device")

Say if CT only makes one paid-only version (i.e. no free version), and lies about paying/ mining then it would violate the policies.

From what I observed from GP's policy, apps that mine should be fine but shouldn't request any sort of payment upfront. That's why some legit ones like StormGain remain.

This is not wrong, even CryptoTab is not hiding, we all know it is a broswer but it is also a mining app, I am still wondering why it is not removed along these fake apps, even two CryptoTab apps are listed on playstore, the pro version require people to pay before use, we all know how bitcoin can not be mined on phone.

There are till many more, Google playstore is not a place we can visit and belief all we see, many apps are fake and the intention of the developers is to scam, some will elaborate to users that they will make profit from using the app and of which it is a lie.

Although I haven't tried CryptoTab (and I wouldn't want to), they do pay but man do they drain the shit out of your electricity with all that mining in the background.

Just another common thing on the Play Store though. Remove 10, there are 100 still hiding.

There is already a proliferation of scammy crypto apps in the Play Store. Good for them for taking action but I think there is still some work needed. I have seen a lot of apps that are pretending to be legitimate wallets like Trezor or Ledger. There has even been some cases where people lost very large amounts of crypto because they downloaded a fake app.

I hope Google play will do their work to just vanish them and never let any kind of apps that has the similar agenda when installed by the user.

Enough for the hoping. There are a lot of fake apps in Google play.
I think Google's power to detect fake apps are only limited and So they aren't able to detect most of these fake apps.
One of the most noticeable fake app today is the Fake Ronin wallet. Several Axie players have lost their Axies, AXS, and SLPs because they downloaded the fake apps and exposed their private keys.
Im surprised I didn't see Ronin wallet app included in the OPs list.
Not only fake Ronin wallet but there are also many fake applications that have not been detected and banned by google. The 8 apps OP listed were removed in hundreds of fake apps. Hopefully next time google will be strong with fake apps to protect its users.

Google really need to up there game in preventing the flood of fake app into the google app store, it is risky for users when they will install a fake app on their device unknowingly thinking it is from google store am safe, the action already long over due, especially in crypto space where funds are involved it is easy to have so many fake app in disguise as the original only to scam people of their funds, people should very vigilant.

Google Play store bans 8 crypto mining application
Those mining applications are scams. It is good news that Google play store already banned them. I suspect some people reported them and Google play store take the necessary action by banning them all. We must thank Google play store teams that they want to accept our reports and care about people's security. If they don't ban it, possibly some people can be scammed.

Are all cloud mining apps a scam though? Or just some of them, like the ones you've listed here? I realize that it might be unsafe and opens so many rooms for scammers that "rent out" hashing power, but can't that be legit sometimes? I don't see what's wrong with someone investing money in pool mining in exchange for a Bitcoin reward share.

Anyway, that got me thinking, is all those apps are scams, how did they wind up on Google Play in the first place? Shouldn't there have been an inspection of some kind?

Good job Google.
Many fake applications are still there, impersonating the official one.
There are fake mobile wallets, fake crypto mining, and also sometimes fake exchanges.
Be careful.
I really appreciate the step done by Google. And I do agree that we must continue reporting the fake ones and scammers to google so they can easily ban and take down such applications.

I hope this initiative will continue because not only 8 crypto apps are fake on their platform but there's a lot more. Not only crypto-related apps but many "money-making" apps as well luring gullible people to try for the promise of earning money but ended up wasting your time for nothing. They will find out that they are now home of a lot of fake apps needed to be removed immediately in the market.

It is good that they ban apps.

Next should be those scam advertisements that are bypassing their approval. I guess that Google is enlightening us with such actions that they do like banning these apps.
I think Google play is not permitting that kind of apps who bypass your approval and of course, there's always a warning sign at first when you try to install something on your phone that you need to accept in order to use the app. Of course, they ban apps that doesn't fit for every user to use and is trying to steal data to a user(s).

I hope they did it a long time ago because such apps existed because of their help and it's their fault of allowing these fake apps. I think there are more apps out there that still existing and I hope Google play will do their work to just vanish them and never let any kind of apps that has the similar agenda when installed by the user.

Apps that Google had been banning since, are either doing false advertising to dupe some innocent people into fake unacceptable plans of mining where scammers lie to them saying that they will be giving huge returns to them for mining some value in BTC or ETH or whatever is shown as a mining alternative in the app. We recommend to stay away from such apps because they can also hack your phone and ask for ransomware once they get all your personal data.

Thats better that google play will not allowing that kind of application to be installed by other people just to scam. Cloud mining is just a sucks platform to earn crypto currency I already scammed with that kind of shit application, at first they will get your trust by just giving you an earning of what you invest then after that you will get hook on that scheme and you will going to add more money in your first investment to earn more but after you do it they will gone they will shut down theyre server and you will lost all of your investment.

Google Play store bans 8 crypto mining application which  describe below ..
Yeah, those are fraudulent crypto applications related to mining with thousand of users as victims.
As the information one of the posts in https://cointelegraph.com/news/google-bans-8-deceptive-crypto-apps-from-play-store
Those applications have been reported significantly because of their reputation. 'And actually, there are still several other fraudulent applications again that we can find out. So be careful always when going to download any application in the PlayStore.
there are also some fake applications resembling the official one.

Google needs to take more steps in banning other cryptocurrency cloud  mining apps because they are just too many on Google play with so many promises that is used to entice more victims especially those persons that have no concrete knowledge in Crypto.
Commonly, they will do activities based on the reports from us. So be pleased to report any suspicious or fraudulent applications if we found. We can help Google to filter and do such banning actions.

Please don't use this apps any more...
Well, its needed to clean PlayStore because of these fake cloud mining apps that sometimes contain some malwares or anything that can clean up your bank accounts in an instant.

Hope that Google will make more actions to these scamming and hacking apps because I know that some of these apps on playstore contain malwares. Maybe lets not fall into these kind of traps anymore. We know how to mine Bitcoin and Ethereum right and we know that cloud mining isn't profitable and mining Bitcoin and Ethereum can't be done using just a simple phone so don't install anything that is related to mining these 2 coins.

I am surprised they only banned 8 apps since looking at the google play store you'll see a lot of shady cryptocurrency apps currently available to be downloaded. I wonder if they will make a follow-up inspection on other cryptocurrency apps(besides these "mining apps") that could potentially scam people who see the app on their site.

this issue should have been resolved a long time ago, google needs to verify a lot if each application complies with the rules and is not some application with the purpose of stealing people's money, I hope google starts checking always so that we don't have apps like these, and of course don't be unfair to harm legitimate apps as well. Cloud mining has hundreds of scam cases and it is a very sensitive issue, there are scenarios where cloud mining is legitimate (it has data centers, mining equipment, finally it has the requirements that prove that it really is cloud mining) but the problem is always It's the same: they don't make profits and there are ponzi schemes so it's necessary that google knows about these differences and adopts rules for each case

It's good that Google Play Store removed these scam apps. The Google team could improve so that the store does not proliferate harmful applications so that users use the apps safely. We often hear about apps that don't deliver on the benefits they offer. In particular, I have no interest in this type of business, it is best to work, no matter how much you earn, the important thing is to save and reduce unnecessary expenses.

Fix your title. Change it to "Google bans 8 crypto scamming apps " and you won't be spreading FUDs. Good thing google started to ban those apps. Everyone knows that almost 99.99% of those "cloud mining" platforms are scam/ponzie schemes. The rest 0.01% cloud mining platforms might be legit, but you won't be making any profit over there.
Now google should start banning those scam advertisements and those videos promoting scam and spreading FUDs.

Well, this is one of the many reasons why I don't prefer Android Device because mostly it's filled up with trash Apps in the AppStore such as these.

iOS checks apps before allowing them to be in the app store and they're already against such apps, however, users can still install these trash apps in dev mode but a normal user wouldn't bother doing that and some tech-savvy might do it just to analyze what data trade occurs between the app and device.

That is good work from them at least they are showing support to the community which is banning and vanishing those suspectable scam apps to the system. They said before that they will filter those scam ads and apps to their system and I think this is it, we should appreciate them for their showing support. Crypto Holic - Bitcoin Cloud Mining

Yay, Google to the rescue. Can you imagine? “Despite these apps not being associated with cloud-mining operations or having any cryptocurrency-mining features, some of these apps prompt users to pay for increased cryptocurrency-mining capabilities via the apps’ in-app billing systems that range from $14.99 to as high as $189.99,”. I wonder how many persons have fallen for this scam. I just read that “there over 120 fake cryptocurrency mining apps still available”. This is scary.

There are still tons of them out and about in the Google Playstore. These apps are getting approved without a tough screening on what the app does and whether or not there are potential security risks with the app. Google just cares about the metrics and the numbers that they are getting on their marketplace, and that is something that is bad with their Playstore. Either way, I'm not surprised that a lot of apps are being published albeit them being useless or have something suspicious in them. Google Ads allow obvious scam ads, what more on apps that are not properly screened and filtered.

The rate at which apps get added on Playstore makes me wonder if the apps actually go through vetting before there are added. I'm always skeptical downloading apps on Playstore this day because of the numerous reported alleged scam apps there, except I go through the website of the said company. One can't be too careful enough as not to fall prey to fraudulent devs. It's good a thing that playstore on its own took the initiative to remove those apps, and I believe more should be fished out to further strengthen the once confidence users had in Playstore. BTW, who still does cloud mining?

This is a very good step taken by Google, because Google has helped beginners who are just learning about bitcoin like me, so as not to be deceived by those who are greedy, Crypto applications that are reported to be fraudulent include mining services, such as BitFunds, Bitcoin Miner, Prizes Daily Bitcoin, Crypto Holic, MineBit Pro, Bitcoin 2021, and Ethereum — Pool Mining Cloud. This list also includes a crypto wallet service called Bitcoin — Pool Mining Cloud Wallet.

A much-needed step forward from Google. There are still a bunch of scam ads that are running out there that people are falling for daily.  They should be ramping up their crypto experts in the marketing area and be taking a much harder look at some of these ads that are blatantly coying legitimate services just to scam people.
Totally agree, they need to take this kind of action to clean their platform of scam applications, and it's going to be a lot of cleaning, I think that the apps that they've banned is just a tip of the proverbial iceberg because I am sure that there's more than meets the eye in this one.

It's probably a part of the policy that goes far beyond cryptocurrencies and mining, the one that bans any scamming or hugely misleading apps out there. This doesn't mean that Google is attacking Bitcoin, crypto mining or anything like that, it's just a reasonable step they're taking towards making their platform more trustworthy. And judging from the article that was linked by TalkStar, it's only a small part of dozens of similar fraudulent applications that are still available on Play Store.

...Please don't use this apps any more...
There was no need to use them in the first place.

...

Don't keep your hopes up that Google will actually do more on stopping these malicious apps from getting into their platform. It will take a lot of reports from third party and the community before they act. There are still many fake apps there like what's reported in the article posted by TalkStar.

Google team have decided to ban all these apps because they were charging fees for illegitimate cloud mining service. I have also read the news on Cointelegraph about it and they clearly mentioned that these apps were forcing their users to watch paid ads and paying for clod mining service which doesn't exist. Its not put any effect on legal crypto services who have their official app on play store.

A much-needed step forward from Google. There are still a bunch of scam ads that are running out there that people are falling for daily.  They should be ramping up their crypto experts in the marketing area and be taking a much harder look at some of these ads that are blatantly coying legitimate services just to scam people.

It's good that they've finally taken this action against this cloud mining apps which is just another term for scam apps that doesn't really yield anything except waste your time and steal your money when you finally try to cash out on the supposed mined bitcoin's. I do hope that more of this apps gets banned by Google in the near future.
