Well I will only use google search engine when I use a vpn. But I do think it is a good search engine to use  I just do not trust google to not be stealing my information or to be tracking my steps.

The one I do trust more is Duck Duck Go. It does not always give me the best results I dont think. But I feel more safer using this one then google.

With the help of Google we can search each and everything and this characteristic of Google is used by many students which help them most in finding the detailed information. There are multiple applications but people used Google more often and people cannot leave Google as this act as a searching tool for needy.

It provides quick information in a matter of seconds which means that with minimum time we can find lots of beneficial information that we wants to identify and learn. Every little information is present on Google and one can easily search information related to jobs, study and anything else.

I haven't really been exploring other search engines aside from Google. It is just so easy and familiar since I have been using it for as long as I can remember. Google always give the answers that we need and if we are not satisfied, we'll just have to dig deeper. If there's a new search engine that will arise, people might give it a shot. But I think it'll be years for it to happen. Anyway, technology keeps on innovating.


That's why there's an old reminder saying think before you click. Google is providing it's service and it is our responsibility to be careful of what we do online. It is amazing and at the same time scary to think that Google could anticipate what you are looking for based on your previous activities and preferences, but I think it does that so it can offer a more suitable service. Well that's Google for us, it knows more than what we provide.

It's hard to find people now who aren't associated with Google.In the current social system or government system, we are constantly using Google in some cases because Google fulfills many of our basic needs.Of course google has become our friend because with Google we can talk about everything like a friend.I have been using google since 2012 and since then google has helped me in many ways in happiness, education, technology and many other fields.So far many search engines have come but not even close to Google. China or Russia have come up with many search engines, but they can stay close to Google. How can Google's services be so extensive Can provide other search days.Google is providing a lot of services which is enough for now, but it would be good for us to have more comprehensive services.In my opinion google should provide any kind of bad comments or information search so as not to give absolutely true or correct information because many times i get annoyed with Google due to wrong information etc. I think one of my requests is to improve their system with accurate information along with an information search so that I get what I want without any unnecessary business or publicity referrals without doing.Many annoying ads come while using Google, they make us very annoying to get information. Finally, I want to say that Google is providing us with many convenient services, so the bad side is coming No but request to make service to their facility as per present time.

I think Google are a jackal in sheep clothing.... because they are making gazillions of Dollars on your information and they are sharing your data with governments all over the world. 

Yes, the service that they are offering are fast and reliable and it is "FREE" but it come at a cost. They know a lot more about you, than what most people would be comfortable with... but you allow it, because it is "FREE".

Yes, I have been using Google for several years and I love it until now.
Maybe I've been using Google for maybe more than 10 years, especially for its search engine.
I still use Google's search engine rather than the others because I still feel the results are better than the others.
I don't know what kind of improvements Google needs, but maybe Google can focus more on developing its AI to provide more accurate results.
And because my phone is also integrated with Google, everything is connected well and so far, I haven't had any problems.

They know too much. They lied and were fined concerning privacy issues. Everyone should consider refraining from relying on Google services unless it is a necessity. There are various alternatives exist that protect user privacy. However, it is indeed that people must sacrifice some convenience in order to gain some privacy benefits offered by some of the alternative platforms.

That is to say, even though they do some unhealthy and cheeky business practices, a lot of people utilize and gain the benefit of the services offered by them. It is a great service, and the user base speaks about them. But too much centrality and dependence on a big company is surely not good. Personally, I tried to minimize any interaction with Google, and now exploring an option for an alternative that could replace them.

Google has changed the world and has been very useful to us, to the point that we have adopted the verb googlear. Not everything is rosy, however, and a mega-corporation that handles so much data and exercises censorship in a covert manner is not my cup of tea. Although it remains to be seen how I would handle it if I were the CEO. I am not referring to results, but rather that sometimes we criticize decisions or policies that if we had the power to make decisions we would surely act differently in at least some cases than we do now.

I think I discovered it back in 1998 and immediately stopped using the others I was using, Altavista and Yahoo search if I remember correctly.

Since 2014, when I got my first computer at home, it's been 9 years of relying on Google as my primary search engine. I know Yahoo was around back then, but I've always been fond of Google's user interface for search.

I haven't really considered other search engines because I've been so accustomed to using Google all this time.

I wish Google had AI that could handle more complex and rapid commands, like changing the background of a photo or generating images based on the words I type, as well as AI to enhance audio quality.

Yup, for so long. And we've got this word in our country when someone asks a thing, GMG (Google mo g*go). Means google it stupid.

Although there's duckduckgo and bing, I still use Google even it eats a lot of space on my RAM! LOL.

I have no idea, it seems that they have all of it already.

I still use google to this day, and I am aware that there are other alternatives that people uses and maybe one day I will be starting to use one of those but so far at this moment I still use google. They made something that is good enough that I wouldn't need to use anything else so far, I may need it in the future if something goes wrong but for the time being it hasn't provided me with a reason to change it.

I used google chrome as a browser and I stopped using that, so I am not dismissing the possibility of not using google itself one day, but so far it has been my friend. Plus it is still the most used one in the world, so it is really normal and common for someone to keep using it even to this day.

Google is well known search engine and support different services to the user base on my experience it's supports all my need and also being convenient with all the things I need to know. But of course google gets more user friendly unlike the others so id prefer this than the other platform.
Seems like I'm getting old since I used the Google at the ugly version of it.

I remember using Google for the very first time and was amazed how reliable and accurate it was compared to Yahoo, Infoseek, AskJeeves or whatever else was out at the time.

So I am not surprised they grew to this great popularity and pretty much are the only search that most people use. From what I recall Bing is maybe used 2-3% and same with Yahoo.

Google is my savior during my high-school days and until now, it has been a great invention and they continue to grow which we should be more thank full as I’m sure google helps you a lot too. I can’t see anyone to replace Google in the next coming years, probably they are here to stay as well because they continue to adapt change and improve their technology too, we’re all lucky to have someone who invented this technology.

Definitely Google has been my friend ever since in my school days and it's like a magic and charm when I was searching for academic things back then. Going to the library is quite far in my house and my school was also distant and that's why it was like my go-to library back in the days.
How long was it already, 25? Oh my, I'm getting old.. to scare all of you, we're all getting old. But honestly, this is a good technology that everyone has embraced and been helpful to us. Who has thought that this search engine will grow a lot this time and have become the most sought compan by most employees.

I cannot imagine my life without Google frankly speaking since it has become such an important part of my life along with YouTube. Almost every person on earth is a fan of Google which makes sense.

The whole 25 year doodle was amazing and I hope BTC gets a doodle in a similar manner. Also, the name 'Google' is way better than 'Alphabet'.

Can't believe Google is older than some people in this forum  , 25 years of scrapping user's email, passwords and pictures, they should by now be the most search engine that contains the world's information that we don't see, no wonder China and Nort Korea fear the use of their engine in all those regions and I hope there are regulations that protect human rights from how google use this information because these information alone is wealth under google that any secondary company can have with just swipe of money from the company to google, I really hope data protection is really working behind the scene.

If I come after  Google, I must commend them for making Google map easy for the public, it is easy to travel and know your next location and how many kilometres to cover before getting to your final destination, I think their innovation also made transportation system like Uber so easy, they are the reason why most of them are easy today.

Yes, I always use google when I'm having trouble or looking for something and I learn a lot from google. They say that if you don't see the answer, google is there. google is your friend as long as you know how to search

Since I had my fair share of web search before Google existed, I can tell that it was a great leap forward, a great fix for all that mess.
With the years passing by the search results were better and better... then the quality started dropping, the scam links and ads for scams have started filling the space and so on.

Meanwhile GMail was made, and Android, and Maps, and so on, and Google started being more a resource hog and a privacy invader than the initial wonder-tool, making decisions that helps more their ad business than the users. It's a sad development, but this is what money (and hunger for more wealth) does.

I wish to see this kind of questions when Bitcoin will also reach 25 years and I wish to believe it will not become as corrupted as Google has became.

When i opened Google and saw that 25 written in middle of G25GLE, i had no idea what it was about until I came to know that Google has been with us for 25  long years.

Congratulations to Google for the 25th anniversary, today is the 25 birthday of Google. Google is the no.1 search engine.

Back then I was a kid, Mozilla Firefox is the one that helps but after upgrading my computer, Google were the one who's have been with my side. It helps me to almost all of the things for decades even there's a new whenever I upgrade my windows recommendations for other search app or browser, I still find Google and download it. From helping me for my studies, to helping me for my money sources  such as jobs especially in the pandemic days. If I could only see the history of my Google from my old computer to compare the progress and my hobbies today. Actually Google's other app like photos actually worked which is I'm really thankful since my phone broke and couldn't recover it, when I logged in my account to other phone, my grandmother picture was there and I'm crying, I did not save it but Google did an auto recovery.

Google is not just our friend, but it is a trend setter.
It managed to capture the wide number of audience during the days when Yahoo and Bing were making their numbers, still Google left them behind and became the number one search engine. It also gave great earning opportunity to publishers through its AdSense while also bringing advertisers to big web portals through AdWords. When people thought internet is nothing but a time waste, Google proved that internet is going to be the biggest superpower and data will work as a blockchain for it. Though, a point where Google cheated us was when it started selling our data (including preferences of anything) to various companies that used it to lure us to buy their products or services.

Yes saw the news early morning as soon as I opened up my chrome on phone. Google has been my friend and it’s the only search engine that I am using so far. I hardly think that I have used any other search engine till date. I am using google since I got my first internet connection back in 2005. Before that I was not blessed with any internet connection neither it was very much possible at where we lived. It was remote village but things got changed when we moved to city and also got to know there are cyber cafe around. That’s where I saw google search. Then rest is history and till date it’s just google.

I don’t think there is anything else we want from the google. They had Advance search tool back in the time and you can do that till date. However they have gone way ahead with the technology. Now we are able to search with images using google lens. I am pretty sure that we all use Google with its full capacity.

I am so much into Google that I almost use all the products launched by then using Google one storage. Happy Client.

i remember when i first started using internet back in 2002, Google was one of the first few websites I heard. With time Google has grown up to capture not only search engine market but also acquired smart phone market through Android OS, YouTube, Cloud market and many more. In these 25 years my experience with Google is excellent and I seriously think how life would be if we don't have free services of google around us.

Google has certainly been helpful to me as a search engine, even though I know that there are valid points against it and even things that I find annoying. But I guess it's a force of habit to use it, and it's neatly integrated into Chrome, which is my go-to browser. I've been using Google for around 15 years, I guess, and I'm occasionally thinking of moving to something else like DuckDuckGo, but I also feel like since most people use Google, it's the best trained one and also I sort of want to see what most people would see.
What I would really like as an improvement is to get results in the language in which I'm writing. It's truly annoying to me, as a Ukrainian, that when I google things in Ukrainian, the top results are very often in Russian, from Russian websites. I'm fluent in Russian as well, but that's not the language I've used to google things, so that means I expect to get information that's local and in my own language, but Google just keeps pushing content in Russian.
Sometimes I even google in English but get results in Russian, even though Russian isn't even selected in my settings as a language in which results should be shown.

Google is a great company !
You can find flaws in their work, but globally - one of the most technological, quality, in terms of the level of services. They also have the widest audience coverage - from the search engine (the basic service of the company), to a huge number of additional, in-demand services ... I personally use a lot of things - from search engine and mail, to clouds, collaboration systems, and mobile platform itself

tbh, it isn't just the search engine, even the email itself has always been full of spam, we have never once trust the content on the internet, I had always advice people to not trust anything on the internet, the UFO story, the forbidden ritual to summon demon, voodoo magic blah blah, but you know what there is just more and more gullible people who would trust anything on the internet. Has anything ever change since the last two decades? Yup people are getting dumb and gullible and more and more entrusting the internet, do you see how tinder has revolutionize the dating market with just internet? As if woman today trust the internet and willing to date any stranger on the internet, more than real life dating, I can never imagine in the past people meet woman face to face and they think it is very cool.

I will share a few things on my thought of google.  First off, it's the best search engine to ever have been created by far and it's not even remotely close.  Google is at the front tier of tech and innovation, and they are very good at what they do.

That said, they are an evil corrupt organization just like many of their peers.  The allows for scams ( YouTube ad placements ), they steal information, will turn on your computers microphone to listen in to your conversations etc etc.  I despise who they are, but I acknowledge how good they are too.  It's a catch 22 IMO.

No, google is not my friend. In fact, Google is no one's friend. It's only necessary and widely available, which is why people use it. In almost every platform, and every browser it is the default search engine. So people don't take the time to change it to other services. That's why they are on the top.


It is impossible for me to know the exact time, but it has been long. Ever since I got my first smartphone, I have been using many services provided by Google. It's just the fact that there aren't many good alternatives to it. Now there are many but back in the day, google was the best.

Yes, Duckduckgo. I have heard that they don't collect data the way Google does. And it is very safe to use. They don't track your footprint and keep your privacy safe. Not sure how accurate that claim is but it is better to have an alternative to Google. No hate to Google but what the shit are they doing?

Google has been a friend and a partner. He has also been my teacher and dictionary. Without Google, I don't know how learning and researching would have been.

I can't tell the precise date but Google has been my partner for more than a decade.

I have not really used other search engines because Google have always given me what I want regarding general knowledge. But when it comes to scholarly research I have other search engines.

@Bitstar_coin are you carrying out a survey for Google ? The firm should have more local language versions and they should do more to promote privacy.

Happy birthday to Google, I have been using the Google search engine for a long time, I really like its interface and also the accuracy when we search for something from there, apart from that the other products that Google releases (YouTube, Gmail and others) are also very interesting, well they make me addicted but for I prefer to use Microsoft Edge for online reading, all news from around the world is summarized on the front page of Edge.

25 years!, how many here are 25 years old, , how many grew up assuming that the search engine was the "god" of information, it is significant then to say that many of us had the opportunity to live that transition, and it still rules 25 years later, although not as freely as before, the destinations of clic to concerns, doubts, learn etc..

It is still very "strange thinks" to think how the simplest page (UI and UX) on the entire Internet is the most important. 

I miss the days when "don't be evil" was their motto. Nowadays they know far too much about anyone, and the level of advertising makes YouTube impossible to use without ad blocker.
Let me put it this way: I liked Google much more before they got this big.

It's been a long time since Google has been able to help billions of people around the world, and it continues to help with all the questions we want to know. And not only that, it also gives opportunities to almost countless people who earn money because of Google, and one of them is the one who earns thousands of dollars by making content on YouTube. And even in other opportunities, they are able to work for the company as well.

Google is really a great help not only to our adults but also to all students around the world. It also helps in their studies; even those who have not graduated are also gaining knowledge because of Google, which, no matter what question you ask, will immediately provide answer options that match the answer you are looking for. I think I have been using google since the first time I used the internet, at first I really thought that Google is a simple database processing, which later on I found that it's really complicated. What really bothers me nowadays is that when I was trying to find a detailed information or reviews about a product like pc stuff, GPU, CPU or Keyboard or anything, the top search result is marketplace, not the official site, or some article/video about the product, even after I specifically add the word 'review'. Now when I want to find those kind of information I use Bing.

What other might search engine should I or can I choose as my default. I used almost all the Google tools so indeed Google is part of my eveyrday life i celebrate with them and also beleive one day i will be part of the Google team working remotely with them.

Google has been a friend, it's been there for me. (LOL, too cringe..¿). Anyways, I remembered this one time I was always on Google... I won't say 24/7 though, that's too much  . But all my questions and problems, I took it all to Google, since I'm not the kind of person who communicates that much.
I've been using Google for as long as I can remember, but can't pinpoint when exactly.
3. Lately, I've been using Bing more. Google sometimes doesn't give you straight-up answers, and there are lot of information there, you don't know which to trust. But for Bing, it's information is related and not scattered like that on Google.
4. As for improvement I'd say they try to fix the problem of not giving me what I want. People sometimes say " Google knows everything", I don't want to go there and become way more confused than I was before typing my questions.

Recently I saw the 25 substituting double O in google while searching for a picture of an Elephant today. Google has been great in optimizing the usage of the internet as a search engine. With its numerous security and privacy flaws on users, many switched to different and more private search engines. Yet they remain the best for marketers. Its numerous marketing tools like adsense, adwords, etc have helped in boosting the reach of potential clients for businesses and companies. Google is the mother of the internet, everything almost revolves around them, people use google chrome, gmail, google cloud services, keyword research tools etc to better their internet experience. And indeed, I can't be excluded among these users, which many of us still falls as a client in one of their multiple services. They have so much power and influence allocated to them on the internet. Site owners want to rank on google to yield traffic. Hence, google is our friend. I'd want google to reduce its updating speed and also make it easier for sites to rank on first page. People can't understand how the ranking algorithm work these days, whether through guest posts, high DA backlinks or top notch quality niche contents, these methods still may not rank a website in today's google ranking analysis.

At some point, not now, I'd switch to private search engines and leave google, because of the way it rough handles people's data to feed advertisers. If google is 25 I've been using them for 25 years too, lol. I don't know how long I've been using them, but its been quite a long journey using google.

Google has become my friend in finding the information I need. And I am satisfied with Google's search engine service.

Maybe from the start, I have used Google to search for information. But Google wasn't the first search engine I used.

I still use Google to look for information or something, but I also use the search engine if I don't find the results I want from Google.

Maybe the improvement is so that Google can filter the information we find from Google because now there is a lot of information that is not the result of what we want.

Google has been my default search engine for years, I don’t like to use anything Microsoft offers. There are pros & cons to everything but I just feel like my privacy is probably more compromised with Edge & Bing.

Google already did a lot in a long way and it definitely helps us in a lot of situations, probably the most popular company, and we can't deny that it is even used by a lot of companies.

For Sure Google is my friend since if I doesnt know anything probably the answer to it is Google, it just pretty much knows everything and could easily help you whenever you are if you just have access on it.

Been using Google for a very long time, dont really remember when but as soon as I learned about Google and knew what it could do, when I already had the technology like a phone google was already a thing, Probably when I was just on my elementary days I already using google.

I've been loyal to google even when the times when Yahoo was still popular I just liked the simple design of it and I really think that using Google Chrome was just faster than others.

For sure the technology was a long better than the past years and Google was already so big right now.

I have been using Google since my journey to the internet. Google can be compared to a kind of assistant who knows everything and always wants to help. Though Google can provide misinformation sometimes, it is the best search engine I have used so far. Bing and DuckDuckGo are better than Google if you want to get only the legit source of information, but they don't have a massive database like Google.
 

A big Congratulations to Google for celebrating 25th anniversary, and they have done great things in the whole world and many users have enjoyed their services to find solution to their problem. I started using Google some years ago to learn so many things that made me to be among the best students in the secondary school those days, because I always used Google to research some of the assignments be given to me. Google has been my friend till now because there are some strange words I will come across in the Bitcointalk forum, I will quickly run to Google to find the meaning to improve in that particular topic or comment.

Since 2017, whenever I've got my adblock off and google for Electrum official website it shows me a phishing link in the ads on top of the search page and no one gives a shit about the reports. So it is kinda doubtful if Google is my friend at the moment.
Currently, I'm even using AI tools for the search (perplexity is one of the favorite ones) and this is so much better than the usual google search.

Of course, Google is my friend if I remove its excesses, it's been more of a friend than otherwise. I've learned a lot of things through it and I don't think a day would pass without seeking information on it, and it has been easily accessible and helpful in almost all facets.

I can't remember correctly anymore, but it should be over 20 years. My only regret is that I didn't envisage the opportunities of earning therein.
 
I don't, and the reason is simple. There is no information needed that can't be found through Google, but there are many that can't be found in others.

There is always a need for improvements despite being spectacular. Google needs to stop the issues with sponsored ads where the true information will be pushed lower than it. Also, they need to fight the scam through their ads and reduce misinformation to its barest minimum.

Agreed with the search engine full of junk especially scam link topping the search results sometimes can be very dangerous. Many people have fall victim just by clicking on the wrong link and Google been a trusted brand makes it more easier for victims to fall. I think they should do more to filter that area of concern.

Some of their services seem very reliable notably email and teamview, cloud computing, but for the search engine it is totally full of junk, I had try to distance myself from it as much as possible, you do not know when it would pull a shenaningan on you like how Snowden Edward analogue to apple services. There is plenty of replacement for search engine, a serach engine is also a honey pot to mass indoctrination, pick a shady search engine you would end in tears too.

Yes, totally I use it from time to time since there's a lot of information need to search and google had all the answer regarding on topic we want to search. I believe all crypto users use google daily since they can surf a lot of information especially the current news then also the other more things they want to search.



Since High School days and until now which I participate in any crypto activities I still use this, maybe around 15 years if I remember it correctly.


I try to use Brave browser before when they launch it but I go back to Google since I think this is more convenient.



Maybe proper dectecting of phising and fake sites then block it on their platform. Aside that nothing else because google is already a good site.

Yes, google has been my friend for a very long time. A friend that helps you in every situation regarding time and issues and Google plays the same role. It's a trusted tool and I am updating myself through Google so I called Google my best friend.

If I am not wrong it has been a long time since I have been using Google since 2009.
I grew up with Google and I spend most of my time on it. In my school, I did my homework on Google and nobody knew this till now when I growing up I used it for my research and also for finding the best recipe because I loved cooking at that time. And now I use it for many purposes.

No, I do not prefer any search engine to anyone else because my experience with Google is better, and recommend it to everyone to use Google as it provides the best services from any other engines.

Not as such improvement but one thing that I desire that Google has to improve and that is to reduce the fake and unauthentic websites. In today's time if you search for something a lot of websites show which 3 or 4 is related to my question and the rest of the website are useless and are not the answer to my question. So if Google controls it and just provides the answer of what the keywords are searching then would be much better.
