We can't stop google from doing that. We always use their services and because of that, they can now what we are doing or watching. Well what we can do to prevent that is nothing.

Do you know that Facebook is spying on you too if you have Facebook app installed in your Android device or iOS device they can record your voices . No need to login to an account just installed app does it all . So be aware .

Wow I didn't know of this. Do you have any actual proof of this? It would be cool to have exploited this.

Well it was the head line on news channels for over 2-3 days .

Do you know that Facebook is spying on you too if you have Facebook app installed in your Android device or iOS device they can record your voices . No need to login to an account just installed app does it all . So be aware .
Having an evidence of this is great because if this is just a rumor I might get fucked up if I tell my friends.

I guess you guys don't watch news ?

If the APP is installed they can hear you they can listen to your private conversations , That is why i use Facebook on my laptop or computer.

Yes, maybe in some ways like if you type in your name in google then all the sites that you are member of or the topics that you commented and all your accounts will be reflected.  But who cares, I mean, not all the information on that particular data will be revealed only those that are publicly posted. There are nothing to be afraid of if you are not belongs to a syndicate, a very rich person, a superstar, or a celebrity.   Wink

You do not care because you are not grasping the issue at hand or are to far down the road of thought policing.
This issue will slowly sway public action and dictate what people know about any one topic.

Welcome to the modern world my friend  Smiley This is nothing new, it's been happening for centuries. For as long as there'll be a tiny group of people in control of the whole world, the masses will be herded like cattle. The only way you can avoid this is by making your own way, separate from the world's.

These other search engines basically redirect to Google for answers and queries and search tabs. I don't really see any point in it. But yea, thanks for the note.

How does https://duckduckgo.com/ "redirect to Google for answers and queries and search tabs"?

It uses the Google API to do a search indirectly and forward search results while stripping your personal identifying information. It does not ensure you privacy, but it is a worthwhile step to increase your privacy that is very easy.

I agree on this , it is the scope of google ,Google is the browser of whatever we search on so it also the example of browsing history its records from time to time it is not on spying ,also when we download of visit a site that is a malicious or any virus something like that they're warn us .

Ithink if you want some privacy just do browse in incognito mode .it doesnt record any cached or browse history.

Microsoft to crack down on content promoting extremist acts
http://www.reuters.com/article/us-microsoft-terrorism-idUSKCN0YC00X

Quote
With the world growing more concerned about attacks by militant groups on civilians, Microsoft Corp on Friday outlined new policies to crack down what it called "terrorist content" on some of its consumer services.

Thought this goes hand in hand with the issue of spying even if it is for a greater good.
It does not explain at all how they data mine information to achieve this goal besides stating hopefully users will report such issues. Think it will go a lot farther than that and most likely change little in the fight against these radical users but a step closer to more invasive procedures into our browsing and activities.

Why is it so important that someone is able to spy? I guess people overestimate themselves thinking that someone is really interested in wasting time exploring smb's life
To make internet a safer place ? I could literally jot down 100 reasons why they're are "able" to spy but I will leave the rest of the research to yourself.
Ever heard about data analysis or big data ? Have you ever searched a product on internet and have the same product for sale on your facebook page ? That is more of spying, isn't it ?
It's a bless and a curse.

Google had some kind of sneaky spy shit that got urls from my browser that did not exist yet anywhere else. I'd create a page and mysteriously google would crawl it almost the moment it was created.

It's to do with the safe-browse feature on most browsers. It is owned by Google and basically everytime your browser tries to look up an url, it checks it against a database of urls, and if it is something it doesn't recognise, it crawls it to check.

Google rules the internet, nothing is illegal for google. Like it or not, Google will spy you wherever you are, wheter you are shiiting or surfing doesnt matter. All you can do is to live an internet free life, which I dont think is poossible for anyone...

In fact, everyone spying us, not just Google.
Our browsers collect info about our searching on the Internet, sites we visit also collect info about us, our Internet providers, company websites we visit etc.
Even offline companies do this, so I don't see any reason for surprise here, it's common knowledge and practice.
Ask Snowden how much our governments spying us and US government is on the top of it.
If we want to avoid spying only solution will be to come back in the stone age or live in the forest Smiley

Really we stand up now for the next generation, its to late for any current generation as they have been fed a narrative that you give up certain aspects of freedom for the greater good. If the next generation keeps with the agenda,it will not be long till our fridges release on a timer and box of food slides out for our portions with a side cup of medications.
The whole attack on what we do in our lives is to push us a better product but that feels like the mask issue and the real issue is to get us more reliant on their product to control us more and more.

This is bad.
In my country for example. they listen to everything we say and write the phone

If you talk to someone on the phone and pronounces the word "bomb" "War" "manifestation" in a few minutes the police are at your house to ask you.

Yes, and so does facebook. You have to block their cookies individually.
Block all cookies from:
google.com
google.de

Add top domain level from every country where you travel.

TOR wont protect you from tracking, it will only anonymize your IP.

Isn't anonymazing your IP is the same as protecting you from tracking? I mean because they wouldn't know whom they are tracking?

Also I have a questing about what's wrong with using gmail?

It depends on what type of tracking you mean. The short answer is no, it doesn't. Your browser fingerprint can be tracked via things like the addons and extensions you use, the fonts installed on your computer, and other factors which make a fairly unique marker to track you with. Each computer processor also has a unique identification number embedded in the hardware which can be used to track your online activities. As far as what is wrong with using Gmail, it is a Google product. Using any Google product or service pretty much guarantees you have no privacy or anonymity because they go to great lengths to track you and collect personal information.

You're good  Smiley

That helps, but things like browser fingerprinting and other hidden tracking mechanisms for example like Verizon uses still allows them to track you. To be sure you are anonymous on the internet now days you pretty much need to buy a computer with cash from a retailer that doesn't have cameras, use it once for one single purpose use, connect to a public open wifi connection (again without being on camera) using a double VPN (in and out) paid for with Bitcoin and that does not keep records, use a proxy, and then never use it again. Most of the big companies (not all) spy on people that use their services, so does the google too, they even spy at our emails if we are using gmail or other google services.

Is there a article about them spying on emails as well? Would not doubt it but would like proof as well.

E-mail is about the internet equivalent of shouting over your fence at your neighbor, all someone has to be doing is standing around to hear it. Unless you use encryption you can pretty much count on everyone who wants a copy of your e-mails having one.

Starting to think I am to behind the 8ball to be able to figure out how to protect myself properly. Guess I just need to learn how its done to understand the issue. For some reason I need to always be able to see the full scope before it sinks in.

If these app games are any example of how willing people forgo their privacy, think the majority have no issue living in a world where ads are specifically made for them based on their searches. When you have conversations with people that are ok with little privacy you really can not sway them because they think they can do nothing wrong in the eyes of the law due to conforming to every step. Tend to think you can not reach them till its to late.

You can call it spying but people are leaving that data behind by there own. They just easy grab it and use it for personal advertisement and better search results. Just try to leave not that much information about your self on the internet.

This is true, the harder you can make it for them the better. However they are making it harder every day for people to maintain their privacy.

I DO block them, which is more than 98% of the people on the internet bother to do. However if you don't take this step, using other search engines IS completely pointless, because they already occupy or own the vast majority of websites on the internet that people use most.

You can use yahoo mail or microsoft mail instead of Gmail.

You can use DuckDuckGo as a search engine instead of the Google search engine. For those who don't know, DuckDuckGo doesn't track you. Here's the link:

https://duckduckgo.com/

Google has its scripts on about 80% of every page on the internet. Even if you use a script blocker, a lot of sites like Cloudflare + Captcha REQUIRE you allow Google to even access the site.

Even so - the more you block them (and don't use their services) the more difficulty they have tracking you. Do you know why they have such a dominant position? Because people say, oh well they are everywhere so no point using any other search engines.  Smiley

These other search engines basically redirect to Google for answers and queries and search tabs. I don't really see any point in it. But yea, thanks for the note.

DuckDuckGo doesn't redirect to Google. It really is a separate stand alone search engine with it's own search engineers. But I guess people don't want to try it out because if the mighty Google fell, who would they have to moan about?  Smiley

Google illegally spying on people on the internet

Actually you are spied by anyone that can spy on you.
If you use Windows (especially Win10) it's Microsoft. If you browse the internet, then it's at least Google, but actually there are 100s of sites, some of them older than Google (Yahoo is one of them and that's one of the reasons it worth that much), but all the sites handling banners do spy on you. Then there's the antivirus/security solution you use. Then there's your phone. Then the TV tells forward what channel you prefer (some smart TVs were caught sending away even the discussions from your home "to improve voice commands" lol).

So yeah, it's not only Google. They are only more visible.

it all depends on the policy of the company google. but I am sure the company classmates and amounted google will not do this. they are strong and big as it has the trust of its users. Google will never betray it. if this is true, Google will lose popularity and then drowned by itself.

well logically google can do that but I don't know if I care or not  Roll Eyes
also I don't know if maidsafe coin project about securing the internet may help in these cases , it's like a decentralized network

Not caring is why these companies nibble around the edges of personal information till they get push back. They take a step back and move forward again once the heat cools down.
We have police cameras now on every corner of our downtown and that was passed with little issue a month ago. Flashback 10 years ago and people where screaming bloody murder about losing personal privacy! So what changed? End of the day they keep coming at the public till they wear them down or they change the wording. Best option if to take a terror attack or virus/hack to push the agenda home.

If people continue to not care it will mean we will be in a complete police state with no privacy. The people pushing it do not even realize that is the end game because they usually are stuck in the issue at hand and unable to step back and see the ramifications down the road.

I saw a lot of news about this. I admit google is king on the internet. and anything can be done .As we currently use google search engine. then google search activity also must record that we do.

PERFECTLY agreed.. google is the ruler of the internet. so of course it will keep our personal information.. if someone dont want to be spied , dont use internet then..

that is not right GOOGLE is the main browsing server that give you all information about any topic.
and when we are confused that which is the good site to search we search in google and it give you all in formation
but yes in some aspects it is like that but not 100% true.

It is 100% true. Google is in everything. Get yourself a script blocker plug-in for your browser and tell me how many sites you see connect to Google. Here is a hint - nearly all of them. That means almost every web page you connect to, Google knows about it, even if you didn't use a search engine to get there. Every site with a Google ad, every site with a Google app, every site with Google syndication, every site with a Google captcha, and more. Don't forget they own Youtube, Android OS, Meebo, and for when they get tired of paying around in cyberspace they also own Boston Dynamics when they want to build the terminators for the Skynet they have built. They use your cell phone to track your every move and to record your every word spoken in its presence, and that is just what is public. So yes, it is that bad and more.

It is highly more likely they will just find more subtle ways of collecting the info. Or try to entice them into using it out of school where it can be monitored. If you will spy on college students , you will spy on anyone.
P.S. I'm sorry, but you were using GMAIL for goodness' sake. What did you expect?
