That's good news because Google seems to have acknowledged the existence of Bitcoin, I hope this is a good sign of the development of bitcoin from year to year.

Everyone here did not see the btc symbol on the keyboard
We hope that they will do this because it will mean a lot to us
It is a good indicator of the adoption indicators we are looking for.

indeed this is very meaningful for people who have jobs in bitcoin but it is better not only on iOS but also on Android too because not everyone uses iOS. Maybe this is a breakthrough so that more people know about bitcoin.

I haven't seen anything like this on my phone, Maybe my google keyboard is not yet updated, Well I really think Bitcoin is very well known by Google and many people are using the word bitcoin that is why I think Google added it, In this aspect, we can really see that Bitcoin is very popular and many people are getting to know more about it and accepting it, And Google is innovating it to the fullest.
Man OP was very specific about the particular device with you can found the Bitcoin logo on the Google keyboard and he didn't not said on all devices that uses Google keyboard. Except if you are using iOS as op rightly said then you need to update your Google keyboard.

I am an iOS user but I don't see the Bitcoin logo appearing on my keyboard. Do I have to update the iOS software to the latest version?

Same here, not showing on mine & I’ve got the most updated software on my iPhone.

I'm sure if will appear to Android as Samsung recently said that the S10 will have a crypto wallet.  Grin

I don't know, but it looks like Apple might be cooking something new to rival Samsung latest release, so it's going to be exciting to see this coming September (usually Apple release new product around this date). Maybe we can see them integrating crypto or wallet support.
When they added Bitcoin as a symbol, it means that many people requested that. It is a good sign that massive adoption is happening through mobile phones.

CLEAN non GPL infringing code made in Rust lang
@cs_moderator member of "reddit.com/r/Bitcoin" published a picture from his personal phone explaining that Google's listing Bitcoin symbol "BTC" as the first cryptocurrency to be included.
It did not appear to me but it seems to have been added according to the comments in the link[1].
[1] Wow!!!!! I just noticed that the "₿" symbol is now the first currency when u long press $ on Google keyboard.

Took them long enough... the BTC symbol was added to Unicode in 2017, and if you are on Linux you can follow my guide to assign it to any keyboard key (or key combination):

Just checked. Seems like I don't have this option yet. What about you, guys? Do you see this symbol?
It is because bitcoin term was frequently used by the people and really began to a road as a crypto-currency and was a proven legit coin in the industry. I am actually using my iPhone but I don't see the bitcoin sign. I hope that Apple will also let us use the Bitcoin sign. They said that bitcoin sign in iOs devices shows but I think it really depends on the model. Let me check it on the Android device of my friends if it really shows there.

it's very positive to the advancement of bitcoin and crypto in general in terms of recognition that this technology is here to stay. Imagine the next thing will be adding an incognito mode of keyboard with shortcuts to put our crypto wallet/private keys in there, must be terrific.

Yeah, terrific idea. Really terrific!!!!

Everyone is advising not to share the private keys and keep them safely in physical or at least encrypted form in an offline state but you suggest to keep them on your phone, with an app having access to them and with the possibility to send them by mistake.

As I said, really terrific!!

ah yes, terrific for hackers/keyloggers i mean Grin Grin Grin

So adding bitcoin symbols to the Google keyboard is a step closer for the tech giant to support bitcoin. At present, Apple has not officially enabled bitcoin symbols. In addition to Apple and Google, other technology giants such as Microsoft are increasingly supporting Bitcoin. Microsoft products allow users to insert encrypted currency symbols by entering 20BF and ALT.

STOP SNITCHIN'
I have updated my android just a week ago I use google keyboard only instead of using Samsung's proprietary keyboard. Sadly, it is not appearing in my android device. I am using android Oreo in one of the latest smartphones from Samsung! Can anyone else confirm the same?

Same here. I also have Oreo on Android with Gboard fully updated. Looks like they haven't added this to the Android app yet, which seems like a very odd move for Google.

It's like they wanted to roll this out to as few people as possible.

Is this some kind of prank of Google? I don't know any Iphone users (who are my friends) personally who downloads a 3rd party keyboard on their phones let alone it being a Google Product, so why bother adding a BTC sign when your loyal Android users don't receive it on their stock keyboards?

I was just thinking the same thing. It almost seems like a joke...

Well it's cool but it doesn't really mean anything. Bitcoin is not as it was before when few people are aware of it. It's quite common now so it just makes sense that google keyboard includes it. Though i've tried with my android device and it's not quite showing yet.
