I is read that article and to me they are not on the cusp of anything revolutionary. I don't know much bout chip engineering but I studied quantum mechanics when I was sprogging up. I think you can be resting assured that nuclear fusion reactors will be commonplace before we say a mass produced quantum computer and fusion proponents say we are at least 50 years away from that. The D-wave chip sounds like to me that it is a classical machine with no quantum entanglement, just look it is one inch square and only has 512 gates. A simile would be water has a very quick knack at solving optimisation problems whenever it runs down a valley, nothing quantum about that, but wtf do I know.

Of course; however, this deals in new information. Check the article.

What new information other then maybe who the suckers are......Huh

They have not even proven that this thing WORKS yet.

From the comments:

Just more crackpottery from D-Wave. The CIA is just bluffing and Geordie Rose is a sociopath who once said ”I’m not okay with losing at anything, at all.” He'll never admit to being wrong and he'll keep at it until he drops dead. If this technology was based on any kind of sound science, the entire world would be conducting QC experiments as I write. As it is, it's just superstition about some pseudoscientific nonsense called superposition.

Do we have an algorithm to go to if this effort to make quantum computing a reality is successful?
