You might not agree to my own way of thinking things through but I believe that everything I am about to say are not wrong...

We have wars because of religions, and it's the fastest way to controlling the audience, that's why the culture of every countries are better if we go deep into the differences, I will like to use my country as an example if you aren't a Muslim here you are a total alien, you are the one that the devils will reject and even the heavens won't accept, those Muslims make it look so.

The Christians are also doing the same thing, like you are unloved if you are not a Christian, and the hate between these two sparks a lot of civil wars and it affects the great grand children too, so my answer to OPs is that anything that has something to do with money through religion I don't believe in it.

Some people are claimed to be prophet of God and great seers on Youtube are calling coins like Shiba inu the ultimate and last currency for humanity and that those who buy Shiba in 2022 will become the millionaires of tomorrow, like this is so disgusting.

There are now too many fake Gospel preachers in the world today, I have read my Bible and hardly have I seen one that walk in the ways of Jesus Christ, they appear to do so but they aren't.

A good world should have freedom.

We don't need a centralized power in Bitcoin blockchain as the only mean for transaction, trading, wealth storage and like we can not live without Bitcoin blockchain and bitcoin. Like we don't want to be forced to use only the US. dollar or any fiat currency.

Choices, we need choices and Bitcoin can not eliminate all choices globally. We will still have fiat currencies, soon CBDCs and altcoins, together with gold, other metals, and other things can be used as currencies, commodities etc.

Such world with only Bitcoin exists in memes and no where else.

You are right...but the thing is that Bitcoin might naturally become the single currency that is widely accepted - while altcoins are the "alternative means" or provide alternative use-cases.

Memes are thought viruses that can very easily turn into manifestations. While a world thriving on Bitcoin and altcoins might seem like a meme to you, it is very realistic in the future.

Why? Think about it...the US, Europe, Oceania, Russia, China and other countries are never going to politically concede to each other and mutually use the same currency. Bitcoin on the other hand is permission less, does not belong to a single society and therefore, is very realistically a denominated currency for all of these countries. Then, they compete for its ownership rather than crush it and accept that no one can take power or ownership of it.

Of course, theories are theories, and my theory is no stronger than anyone else's...I can't help but feel that it is at least possible for this theory to ring true in the future though.

In order to navigate the complexities of the world, the presence of control is essential. A natural system emerges where someone or something takes charge of various aspects, ensuring stability and order. Consider the role of government in our lives; without its governance, numerous issues would arise, as people would have unrestrained freedom. This demonstrates the necessity of control.

Bitcoin, as a decentralized cryptocurrency, challenges this established pattern. It operates outside the control of any single entity. While this offers advantages, such as increased transparency and autonomy, it also presents limitations. The absence of centralized authority prevents Bitcoin from becoming the sole global currency. Existing power structures are resistant to such a shift, as it would disrupt their control over the currency and economy.

Nonetheless, Bitcoin may eventually achieve widespread usage on a global scale. However, fiat currencies will continue to coexist. Governments will strive to maintain control over their respective currencies and economic systems. This ensures stability and facilitates effective governance in the face of evolving financial landscapes.
Bitcoin may indeed become widespread in the world, but for sure it will not be the last currency in the world. I doubt that BTC will retain a currency function at all in the future, because I assume that it will further transform into an investment vehicle along with classic technology stocks. Which, in principle, has already partly happened.

Also, there are doubts that there will ever be only one currency in the world. There are many countries in the world, each of which has its own government with its own views and interests. Each of which wants to print their own money, and the inflation tax will be the beneficiary of this process. This and a number of other reasons will push them not to abandon local currencies, which in turn creates a confrontation towards the creation of a single and final currency.

In short, I don't expect the emergence of a single last currency in the world and don't expect bitcoin in this position, even if it could happen. But the nuance is that no one knows the future.

I have been planning to create this thread for more than three months but today I decided to drop the thread.
When I was a little child, Missionaries like Jehovah Witness Brethren and other Pentecostal Church preachers who was preaching the Holy Bible says, time will come in the whole world that everyone will use ONE CURRENCY and anyone who refused to use that currency can not buy things in any store. And the way BITCOIN is, it is accepting by the whole world. And Bitcoin is growing step by step.

I don't know in the last step of Bitcoin everyone will only use it and no any other currency will exist again. So I like to hear from some Biblical Scholars in the forum to tell me more on this topic. This thing that I said is inside the Holy Bible but I can't recall the scripture but it is in the book of "Revelation".

I think you mean the Revelation 13:16-18 which states that no one can buy and sell without the mark of the beast. It’s not a currency but something that was implant or tattoo to people in able to make a transaction. While the world will have a single currency to transact.

I doubt that this is Bitcoin since it's decentralized while the currency being mention in the Bible shows a centralization since there's someone controlling the people to use it. I think it will be the currency of the super power nation in case world war 3 happened or CBDC since this starting to be implemented globally.

I personally think that a currency will emerge and become a global currency!

I don't know if there is some bitcoins prophecy in the bible, but all I know is wealth is just a trail in this world, and bitcoins are no exception; if you cannot use it for good, it will end up against you because it won't be blessed at all, just like these crypto scammers who are using bitcoins as their props to fool people with their money instead of making the best of it as financial freedom. Most likely, there will be more currency in the future and bitcoins are just the start of it, like a domino effect because paper money is not really good because it could be easily fake, and people will continue to improve it as the years pass.

The purpose behind bitcoin is to fulfil the common people's need as the centralized fiat have failed to do it. Over time we will come across more technology as well as new invention that are superior to the one that is already in usage. I'm not a biblical scholar, based on few of the response it looks like the Bible verse had indicated something else and not the currency.

Even if the currency is the mentioned one, I don't think world will get unified under bitcoin and all other currencies go unused. Everything is all about choice, people look for choice and bitcoin is one amongst. As people are getting much adopted to the technology we consider bitcoin as the thing whenever some discussion arises related to bitcoin.

Are you talking about the time when the evil dominates the world that without the mark of the beast you won't get anything not even the right to buy food?  It looks like your memory betrays you.  There is no such thing mentioned in the bible that Bitcoin will be that currency.  and there is not even a mention about the currency in this verse: Rev. 17-18.

Again I do not think that the thing you are stating is all about one currency but rather it is all about the mark of the beast.  I also agree that Bitcoin won't be the last currency of the world let alone to be the sole official currency of a nation.

Bitcoin is not planning to replace the current fiat system, but I think it is an alternative.
So the idea that Bitcoin might become the world one currency doesn't look feasible.

Theirs some certain things that we know that can not come into existence because we know that Bitcoin is new currency that's not up to thirty years for it existence and other currencies has come to board before Bitcoin but they could not stand so i know that fiat currency will remain the captain of other currencies, from my understanding concerning Bitcoin I have not think of Bitcoin of dominating other currencies because it's a technology and a higher technology can come up today and pick up and dominate bitcoin technology, so for now fiat currency still number one.

are only assuming it from your own understand. Bitcoin is something good that is transparent and don't allow its users to be oppressed by government and the banks. Therefore, bitcoin can never be used as the currency of the apocalypse.

Only one currency will be forced on the people to use and anyone without the mark of the beast wouldn't be allow to use that currency. Bitcoin is open to everyone and it gives privacy too. No one can know who own a bitcoin if you store it in your private wallet, bitcoin will never be the only currency to exist in future because the government rules the world and every country has their own currency that was designed by their government.

Symbols, my friends, speak a different language to everyone, weaving a tapestry of diverse views. Bitcoin, too, exists in this interpretative kaleidoscope, especially when viewed through a religious lens. Passing a definitive "Halal" or "Haram" verdict on Bitcoin? Not so fast. The blockchain, its backbone, holds untapped potential that transcends the norm. A beacon of change for global finance, it promises transparency, efficiency, inclusion.

But Bitcoin's dark ties with activities deemed "Haram" in Islam, like gambling, needs reframing. View it as a transactional tool or value reserve, not a speculative plaything. Drawing connections between Bitcoin's core tenets and religious context is intriguing. Yet, we must differentiate Bitcoin from its use-cases. This, I believe, will foster fruitful discourse with the scholar you mentioned.
Exactly, that's what I have tried to explain, BTC is just a current like any other current and the factor that will declare it halal and haram is it's usage. Like how we are using our money (BTC).

If we are using it in bad things which are prohibited by Islam then we should not use our money in those prohibited things too. But I think your intentions were to reply on my last statement which indicated that BTC and Religious points are of great importance while you just gave the simplest explanation.

But the point is, in Islam a current must have 4 factors in it and BTC hold all three but one is absent, which is the currency must not be volatile but BTC is and if we look any other currency like Us dollars and any national currency that is also volatile and we as Muslims are using it because one of the factor is if currency is being adopted by huge amount of people then it became halal and fair to use.

I hope you understand my point here.

As for technology it is actually filled with technology. From the message of the savior that is said to be received by everyone around the globe in "what they hold in the palm of their hands" (sounds a lot like smart phones to me) to the advise to preparing whatever military technology you can in Al-Anfal:60 to description of what sounds a lot like fighter jet (flying above clouds) carrying bunker busting missiles (breaking strongholds and the mountains in half).
Not to mention that سیف in Arabic and in these contexts isn't the literal definition of "sword".

In any case, linking these things to bitcoin sounds very silly.
Thanks for the correction dear, as i mentioned i am not an expert and I even asked another scholar about it but made a mistake while writing the name. But the idea of no technology at the end of the world was shared by the scholar to which I also not agreed 100% because this was just an assumption from the symbolic words which becomes a problem among different peoples.

Because one takes the meaning of one word as like "X" and the other takes the meaning of the word as "Y". And I think this is what happens here now. But this conversation is going to take a long I think because I will share your reply with him and then let's see what he has to say and in this i will get to learn about it too.

And you are totally right about linking BTC to religion but I think it is fair to some extent like once I was stuck in deciding either BTC is Haram or Halal because whenever I started something new I always prefer to ask some scholar and the scholar always told me it is haram then I tried to search it on my own and I came to a point that different activities like staking, gambling, and fixed APY, etc. are haram in Islam but the point was at that time many also said the topic is not related to BTC because BTC and religion have nothing relatable but I think that's not true.

Well, I've gone through the Bible myself, i don't think there is any portion that describes your elutriation, the only thing that is close to what your saying is the Mark of the beast, which talks about the coming of the antichrist.
Hence bitcoin is far from what you're saying or even imagining. The Bible is explicit in its explanations and it's adviced you apply wisdom while reading the Holy scriptures because wisdom is profitable to direct.

So in answering your question, bitcoin is not the last currency in the world.

Am not a Christian and i know nothing about the bible so i don't know if what you said is true or not, but if its true i don't know maybe it refers to bitcoin, because even the creator of bitcoin didn't create it to be the only currency, he created it to be a alternative currency, and with the way things are going, am very sure it will be difficult for bitcoin to be the only currency. Am sure with time government wont have choice than to adopt bitcoin but i don't think bitcoin will be allowed to be the only currency, the government will do everything to stop that from happening. The only thing we are even fighting for currently is for government to accept bitcoin so that it will be used as alternative currency and not the only currency.

OP did not include this on his thread but those two sects of religion do not have a full understanding of Cryptocurrency, they just concluded and preached that Bitcoin is the one being mentioned, but it's unlikely that it is because no government is controlling Bitcoin it used to be a computer chip or ATM in the past, but now with the growing popularity of Bitcoin they connect it to that verse in the Bible, this is one of the things that hinders the development of Bitcoin.
If this is true that some sects of religion are doing this then we should call them out to enlighten them about Bitcoin and ask them to explain why they have to connect to Bitcoin that bible verse.

The US dollar is widely accepted. Far accepted than bitcoin.  What's to say that isn't the one currency you're talking about. Bitcoin isn't accepted nor is it used by the whole world and even if it is adopted by every nation later in the future, bitcoin is most likely not your one currency that the Bible talked about.
I think if such a currency would exist and to be used as a world currency, don't you think the currency would be in paper form.

we all want Bitcoin to grow and gain more popularity and usage but I don't think that the world can be subjected to just one currency.
The holy book did mention this,  but I won't want this to sound like we are in a biblical school. Something like this may happen on the last day but I will suggest that we dont bring religion here.

Sounds cool right? But it's never going to happen, every countries will have their own currencies and the reason for this is many, a country can be friendly with another but a country can't be friendly with every other countries, let's start from cultures, every countries have their own cultures and also rules too, I am saying this prove that countries can't be friendly to all countries, let's say that Russians are spending same money with Ukraine now, would that have prevented the war? I believe the answer is no or don't you think? Some countries also have resources than the other and there are some trades in deals going on between two countries or even more, dollar is topping for a reason.

I had to read through to see things for myself as there are lots of explanations as regards this particular scriptural verse by many. To my best understanding, I do not think Bitcoin is the last financial evolution that could or would take place on Earth. The way bitcoin emanated, so it is others will come and go and it continues that way till the appropriate time as it was written in the bible. Bitcoin like one of the posters said is solely dependent on the internet and electricity and not everyone could afford it that way but rather fiat could and if that last currency could emanate, I believe it could be fiat not digital because there must have to be a medium whereby everyone would be on the same state of transferring and accepting such currency.

       -  Well, I honestly thought that before, and other religious scholars even thought that the CBDC would be the last resource for people around the world to use as a digital currency, but I doubt that. Because I strongly believe that Bitcoin can be the designated currency to be used because it is digital.

And now that we are gradually moving to this digital payment system, it is very possible that paper money will no longer be needed, but this is just my assessment and opinion on this matter.

We all have these preached during teenage and as a Nigerian it was that common then but nowadays I don't find it where churches do talks, preach about one currency to be used in a time to come. Although I can't say churches have stop teaching it but I will say churches today are more of prosperity and wealth creation teaching, Deliverance ministries allover.
But lets come to reality it would be very had to channel this thinking into bitcoin because it is a digital currency, although who knows if there would be changes time to come whereby all bitcoin would be printed as paper money which I know is not possible to happen. I believe if talking of general currency to be used at the end time then it must be a currency that is not channeled on power consumption rather paper money, let us not forget that Gospel of Christ real.

However this post can moved to  Economics section since it talking much about religion imo.

First of all, I don't believe that they're preaching with those statements above especially with Jehovah's Witnesses because what I have noticed is that they're preaching the good news in the God's Kingdom based on the Bible. There's no specific sentence in the Bible that say we're going to use one currency.

Anyway, If the time will come that we the whole world use one currency, I don't believe it's Bitcoin. Because what I have observed is that the government usually hates Bitcoin since they can't control it and they don't know who the person really is who made a transaction. If they're trying to hold a group of people who are hiding for buying foods, Bitcoin is their life saver.

If you remember what happens to WikiLeaks before, the government blocks them for receiving a donations from visa and mastercard, because this is what they can control. That's why WikiLeaks find ways for receiving a donations that can't be controlled by the government, and that is Bitcoin.

Bitcoin was made for us against the government who are trying to stop us from doing things they don't want to.

So if ever the world is going to use one currency, I believe it's not Bitcoin.
I find your stance intriguing, yet I am compelled to disagree. While Bitcoin's decentralized nature challenges governmental control, this is exactly where its beauty lies. Bitcoin symbolizes our strive towards cooperative independence, marking a creative disruption in our financial system. Take the WikiLeaks instance. Bitcoin proved to be an effective tool against censorship, ensuring financial freedom. This isnt about undermining the government but advocating for the individual's rights.

Government's apprehension towards Bitcoin is not a fatal flaw but an indicator of its disruptive potential. Yes, Bitcoin's creator is unknown, and transactions are anonymous, but isnt that part of its appeal? Admittedly, the journey towards a single global currency is filled with roadblocks, skepticism, and pessimism. Bitcoin, however, has already transformed the way we view money. So, even if the future universal currency isn't Bitcoin, it will be something that inherits Bitcoin's spirit of decentralization and freedom. After all, the future isnt something to be predicted - it's something to be achieved.

So after asking from one of scholars in Quran, i came to know that, at the end , there will be only one nation and thus there will be one currency but at that time there will be no technology. Because those who are muslim they do know when Israel (issa) will came into this world as a human (not prophet) then he will join imam Mahdi against Dajal and the fight will be fought using swords and such related weapons not with new technological weapons which also indicates that at that time, the chances of technology are zero which also indicates that then there will be no blockchain thus no BTC.
I'm no expert but there are a bunch of mistakes in your comment here. First of all Isa is translated to Jesus in English and has nothing to do with Israel (a geographical region that can be anywhere).

Scammers can abuse the reputation and promising future of Bitcoin to raise donations for their benefit, not for charity. We see it sometimes with bad people who run their religious facilities. Religion can be good but the operators are bad. We don't know and should not trust them.

I agree, don't connect Bitcoin with religion.
and incidents like this have happened many times, using anything to make money under the guise of religion will benefit them.
All religions are good and the evil ones are the people.

So if we discuss Bitcoin by mixing with religion it is irrelevant.
In fact, it will deviate from things that are not important and can even be depressing for some users who are not in line.

1.The Revelation of John doesn't mention anything about ONE CURRENCY. It mentions a thing about the mark of the beast(or the ant-Christ).
2.I'm not religious and I don't believe in the Revelation of John. It's a pretty interesting book to read, but do you really think that the Apocalypse will happen in the same way that is described by the Revelation of John? Four horsemen of the Apocalypse? Armies of crickets?
Weird beasts with seven heads wearing seven crowns? Maybe all of this is a metaphor, but I just don't believe that it will happen.
And NO, Bitcoin has nothing to do with this prophecy.
Maybe "the mark of the beast" will be some sort of CBDC in a wallet that is implanted under the skin as a microchip. Grin

The way that I understand this is that the anti-Christ will implement something that will wear the mark of the beast... example "666" and they will force people to use that. You will know that it is the mark of the beast and you will have to make a decision if you are going to use it or if you do not use it, then you will starve.

We have had Bitcoin for several years now and I have seen nothing that resembles the "Mark of the Beast" as stated in the Bible. So I reckon it will be something that will still be developed in the future. (One world currency)  Roll Eyes

So far Bitcoin is accepted as legal tender in only El Salvador, and many countries completely banned the usage even holding of Bitcoin so I don't think that Bitcoin is the one which is mentioned by the Bible. We don't have to connect dots everything to the religious perspective and it's not even that clear cause it's only created by fellow humans after several centuries of Jesus birth.

So far, not too many countries have banned bitcoin altogether. Over time most countries have gradually accepted bitcoin, but they only allow us to use it as an asset, a commodity to trade, not accept it as a currency. But I also don't believe that bitcoin will be the world's final currency, and it will never become the world's global currency. Our world is evolving, and it won't stop, so in the future, we will have something better than bitcoin, which is bound to happen. Honestly, there's so much exaggeration around bitcoin that it's unnecessary.

Though i grew up a christian, but I gradually lost interest in studying the bible. I just feel like everything that's written in the bible today is man made and revised version of what really was the content of the original bible before. I feel like it's made to make everyone confused and as a result there has been a lot of religious group coming out of nowhere these days.
Well, what you've said might happen in the future, but I don't think fiat currency or government made money are going to be eradicated. But such thing for bitcoin to discuss today is kind of exaggerated reaction to the booming global bitcoin adoption.

One world government and one currency system. We are starting to see signs of the "mark" particularly in Sweden right now, with the chip in the palm to be used as your pass and payment for just about everything.  The "mark of the beast" is said to be shown on your right palm or your forehead, and it is said in the bible that you cannot purchase goods or services without it, and if you don't take it you will be persecuted, but we are not quite there yet. Bitcoin could definitely be used as a means to implement this 666 mark. Motorola believe it or not actually was among one of the first to develop this palm chip technology. I believe that we are surely very close to end times with everything that is happening in the world, but surely people were also saying these same things during WW2 any many other crazy times in history...

You are not completely right, I mean youve not said it exactly the way it was said.. I will correct you..

It was said that in the last days, the governments of the entire world will come together to create a currency which will become the only currency through which any body in the world can buy goods with, could be food or anything, and before you are given access to that currency, you must receive the mark of the beast(666), without that mark, you will probably starve to death cus there will be no money for you to spend for food..

So with the above in mind, it's already clear that that currency is not Bitcoin, Like we all know, Bitcoin is not owned by any government, Bitcoin is completely decentralized and can not be censored or controlled by the government, so clearly, that currency, which I call currency of the beast, is not bitcoin.

As stompix said, better keep religion out of this.
There will never be continuity if you connect Bitcoin with religion.
Same like trying to educate Bitcoin in religious facilities and perhaps raise charity donations via bitcoin.

Nope unless we are going to have an apocalypse which can end the entire earth in next 100 years, bitcoin is definitely not going to be the last currency. I am saying this because we all know quantum computing is already a threat to bitcoin not in next 10-20 years but definitely in next 100 years and once it's a threat bitcoin will not be that secure and that useful and ultimately we'll have some other currency in its place.

You do realise quantum computing is just as big a threat to fiat, right?  If it reaches that level, it can crack any current bank's encryption just as easily.  And if I were some sort of financial terrorist with access to a quantum computer, it would be clear to me which target would cause more disruption.

That said, security can be upgraded.  We know what the threat is, we can see it coming and we likely have ample time to make preparations.  It's not like everyone is just going to sit there and watch while it happens.

This kind of topic seems to be a bit sensitive, linking Bitcoin and religion.
Is it an exact correlation or is there some compatibility as described by the OP?

Bitcoin is a modern digital currency that should be suitable for everyone or all religions, there is also nothing specific about Bitcoin in any book.

Seriously!!!! Let's keep religion out of this!!!

I believe you're referring to the end times, to the end of the world, which I don't believe will happen anytime soon.

I certainly don't subscribe to any religious superstition, but I don't doubt humankind's ability to end both itself and the world.  Some would argue we're already on the brink of doing so:  https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-64390663

If something is used as the last currency of the world, it will be gold and nothing else.

Circumstances may dictate otherwise.  In some post-apocalyptic future, maybe we'll resort to using human teeth as currency.  Or maybe it'll be a utopia where we pay for things using time itself as a currency.  It's honestly baffling how we, as a species, hold the potential to swing so easily from one extreme to the other.  But the fact that something as antiquated as religion is still as ubiquitous as it is doesn't fill me with confidence that we'll end up with an idyllic outcome.

I'm not sure how this could be referring to bitcoin as a global money. According to several indications, bitcoin will not be adopted as the global currency to be utilized globally anytime soon. True, adoption is expanding, and there is a strong likelihood that more countries will follow suit. But when you talk about using it as a worldwide currency, I believe you're referring to the end times, to the end of the world, which I don't believe will happen anytime soon.

I don't think it was Bitcoin they were referring to by saying that the world will use one currency, because it doesn't look like any time soon, Bitcoin is going to be globally accepted by the majority of countries that have not yet accepted Bitcoin to be freely used by citizens of their country. But I really think it is going to be good that Bitcoin can become globally accepted so that our transactions are not recognized by our identities and we can just make any volume of transactions without being detected as the ones carrying out the transaction. I still remember in the olden days, in the time of our forefathers, when there was no money, everyone relied on only one means of transaction, and we cannot go back to those eras where one currency could be used by everyone. I don't think that's possible.

I do not even know where to start to give a response to your thread but I'll try to start somewhere. the first question I'll throw at you is what is the "ONE CURRENCY" you are referring to is just a metaphor? Well bitcoin is not is any way near what the HOLY Bible is referring to or implies. It is not even accepted by the whole world, the possibility of global adoption is very low.

I think we should take it easy with all these analogies about bitcoin and all. Would you rather have bitcoin and be free than have government heavily controlled and manipulated fiat and be in bondage of poverty?

Question is religious so mostly i try to avoid such discussions because at some point one doesn't like the idea of other. And i am also not a scholar of bible book because i am a muslim and i have knowledge in Quran Majeed (Book). And your question is really excited me to learn about it. Because bible is an old book and the last book was Quran (which covers almost all the topics covered in bible and other books). So, i do know that if this topic is present in the Bible from the start then there must be something relatable in Quran too.

Note* this reply based on my religious beliefs so i hope in some way it could be of help for you or atleast give an idea to you.

A currency to fulfills the requirements of the prophecy has to be a centralized one, because that is the only way it can be controlled by a single party or institution which will enforce it to the whole world. And as we see, centralization's enthusiasts hate Bitcoin, due to its decentralized nature, as it guarantees freedom and privacy to its adopters. Bitcoin isn't accepted by most governments and businesses, so it's definitely not going to be enforced the other way round.

I believe the currency mentioned on the prophecy has something to do with the subversion of Bitcoin. That is, governments corrupt Bitcoin's nature and technology creating their own cryptocurrency following BTC's model, but in a centralized format. The "Last Currency" must be a kind of CBDC, although so far we have no idea of when it's going to happen and who is going to propose it.

OP, you aren't alone in that conception. I think it was a scriptural teaching that was loud in our country while we were teenagers. It's the ecumenical movement. Notably, such teaching has been overtaken by the lure of modern material appeals that no one seems to care anymore what happens next. People are getting less godly and to the point they're less concerned about rightful living.

Well, to tell you the truth that the "one-currency" spoken off (if it ever gets to that point) won't be Bitcoin. I say that with confidence because Bitcoin depends on the internet for its workability. Sadly, there are nations of the world that don't have steady electricity supply let alone internet facilities. How are those nations going to assess the "one-currency" then? So, obviously it's not Bitcoin.

I don’t want to be a breaker of bad news but this won’t happen. What makes us think that Bitcoin will be the last currency? Why there won’t be any other genius like Satoshi who is already making something bigger than Bitcoin (technically cryptographic space) and we will see more revolutionised way to transact. Obviously all of this is as hypothetical as the theory of preacher and there is only one way to prove it all, wait and watch. Smiley

Lol no! I don't know the religious background of your statement but if you are thinking Bitcoin will be the last currency in the world, you are surely over-thinking. Bitcoin can't be the only currency used in the world. It can neither be the reserve currency of the world. Bitcoin can't handle such huge affairs. The network has a limitation and Bitcoin can play well within the limit of its network. Anything beyond its capacity will destroy the network.

Bitcoin is a great option for people who want financial independence.  However, it's a downright terrible option for centrally-planned economies.  Nation States rely on fiat because debt-based money allows them to set interest rates and unlimited supply means they can create new money from nothing in emergencies (or just in the event of irresponsible handling of the economy in general).

As such, fiat currencies will continue to exist for as long as the concept of money itself still exists.  But who knows?  Maybe one day we'll attain that 'Star Trek' level of enlightenment and do away with money altogether.   Cheesy

I haven't heard of this before, so I decided to google it. This seems to be a great article because it overviews what the Bible actually says, referring to specific fragments that can be interpreted as relevant to the matter of one government and one currency. As one can see, there's nothing specific about a single currency there. Also, keep in mind that we're talking about the apocalypse here, so thinking that Bitcoin will be that single currency isn't really giving it a good reputation, considering that it's supposed to be the world at its lowest moral point, pretty much.
Only some of us are Christians, so to many these interpretations and prophecies don't matter at all, but those who are Christians must remember that there are very different approaches of religious hermeneutics (interpretation of texts): some believe in the literal meaning of the Bible, others advocate allegorical (figurative) meaning, and some argue for the double meaning. You don't need to take the Bible literally to count as a Christian, and you surely don't need to commit to far-fetched interpretations like that there will be only one currency at the end of the world, even if you do believe in the prophecy overall.

Many Bible scriptures cannot be taken literally, as their interpretation often goes beyond the surface meaning. This becomes especially relevant during the period commonly referred to as the "rapture," when it is believed that Satan will assume control of the world. The interpretation of these scriptures extends beyond mere words and encompasses the profound implications of such events.
The ops failed to cover this part of the article and he just narrow it down to current happenings alone, even though the ops is much a was that only a few per cent of people know about Bitcoin and even when Bitcoin attain national legal recognition,  just like in El Salvador it will still not be used by everybody and that applies to others nationals.
So Bitcoin is far from being a global currency and a tool to be used even if this passage interpretation plays out because I am sure that there won't be Bitcoin if rapture takes place.

Also it causes all, both small and great, both rich and poor, both free and slave, to be marked on the right hand or the forehead,  so that no one can buy or sell unless he has the mark, that is, the name of the beast or the number of its name. This calls for wisdom: let the one who has understanding calculate the number of the beast, for it is the number of a man, and his number is 666

You're telling me that Bitcoin is a sign of the coming of the Antichrist?

Besides, if you're a true believer of God you should refuse the mark, so you're making it look like all Bitcoiners have signed a pact with the Antichrist and all the no coiners are martyrs.

having Bitcoin as the only one currency in the world, would be something impossible per say because most country has their own monetary system and local currency plus it's value depends on the economical state of the country.
