A quality 600-650W psu (OCZ, Corsair, Antec Earthwatts) can handle a 5850. For crossfire 750W psu.

i was considering Wins 7

which is better Ubuntu or Vista or 7.

be careful video cards swap informatoin from main system memory instructions aren't written directly to it. it's rarely a good idea to have less system memory than video memory

what do you mean?

i'm just using this computer just for mining.

get linuxcoin, put it on a usb, and boot!
would a high-end graphics card like that work on 512MB?

i got a spare computer running Vista.

i gonna put Ubuntu 11.04 on it so it would run more better since it only has 512 RAM.

What do i need to do if i get ATI 6990 or ATI 5770 and start mining.
