What? let's see if I got this right: You're respecting the privacy of a thief who stole from you  Huh

Was thinking the same: You need to put this assholes username in headline of a topic, so his name come up in google search. You where scammed, no mercy man.

Exactly! Know his real name? Try to contact his family and employer and inform them of the situation.
I really don't think this would be very effective. Without proof that will do very little good except possibly get an innocent person in trouble.

I have seen many scams here in this forum, believe it or not, I have also seen many cases of people getting their bitcoins back. Many of the scammers here are armatures, so they leave traces, and as soon as the heat goes up and personal information start to be putted on the table, then will the scammers in most cases give the bitcoins back.

I seriously doubt that the personal information the scammer has on you is good for anything, especially now that you are under age (and most likely live at your parents). Seriously? what is he gonna do? Travel across the country to steal your bike?

My suggestion to you:
Make a new thread, put all the information you have in the OP, put up a bounty (e.g. 50% or 100%of the recovered bitcoins). Then let this scammer feel it.

This is a matter of principal, we CANNOT as a community let scammers get away that easy, this is properly the one single problem that is preventing bitcoin for going to da moon, people associate bitcoin with scammers and drugdealers. It has to end.

okay okay i understand where you guys are coming from, in the skype logs it shows his username, which is mystery.lsx, all i know is 1) thats his skype 2) he is a 19 year old male
also i think he stopped using that skype. Sorry for coming off snobby, just didnt want anything to happen since he has my address. Anything else you guys would like to see?

No need to apologize... you don't know what you don't know Wink

What's this secret forum... and what's his username there? Someone from this forum might be able to determine if he's a member here.

Since this is under "Scam Accusations" who is it that scammed you? It would be nice to know what guy to avoid, even though it was on a "secret forum".
yeah it got moved to here, i purposely tried to avoid it since the scammer wasnt on this forum but i dont wanna give out any details even though i have his skype and such... not that type of person haha hope you understand! if it was someone on bitcointalk i most definitely would have but il respect his privacy haha

Exactly. As far as I'm concerned, this is just an excuse to beg for more coins. What's your youtube channel? What's the transaction ID? You're good with PS and computers... take a screenshot of the forum convo, it's not hard to redact info so we can't identify the secret forum.

I'm calling you out OP - provide proof or else you'll be the one considered to be scamming.

~ Has anyone confirmed this is a 16 year old? Skimmed through OP's post history... can't say I even buy that.

what you wanna see my microsft transript to while im at it? lol is that enough to suite you Chris?

Don't get smart with me, lil man. You're the one who's protecting a phantom scammer. So I asked you to prove this took place, that's all. And that chat log btw, is completely useless - no date, so we can't prove it wasn't done yesterday? I'll take looksie at the other stuff you posted - so I'm not done yet.

well ou dont know how it feels? i get scammed and as if thats not bad enough im accused of being a scammer myself? what else do you want from me? how can i prove im not the scammer? the skype chat doesnt have a date becuase skype doesnt show it! i cant help that!
also the reason i dont wanna give up his skype username even though i already did now is because he had my address and my name...

Okay, ok. But look at this from our perspective... All we see is you trying to protect a scammer's privacy. Here in this community, we lay it out buddy. What we don't want is for this scammer to get away with scamming someone else. Does that make sense?

And this secret forum where you met him... I'm sure people here are familiar with it. Hell, he could be a member of this forum, but we don't know because you won't give us that info. And if he is a member of this forum - WE WANT TO KNOW. You never know... if he's found out, he might give you his back - especially if he's someone who has an established rep.

Pretty much what Lucky Cris said. We want to know who it is that had scammed you. This would prevent him from continually doing it in the future.

Protecting the identity and rights of the scammer, something does not add up.

Perhaps OP is the scammer, and this whole thing is a setup for a greater scam.

Proceed with extreme caution.

Dang, that sucks for you.

Always remember to use escrow, no matter how good their trust rating is!

And just reveal his info. He's a scammer, it doesn't matter that much.

You should out him by posting as much information as you can.

He will keep on scamming. People Googling his details may find this thread and you'll prevent further scams - or even better: potential employers might find this thread too and you can bet he'll regret scamming you if that ever happens.

cheap lesson. I got scammed a couple years ago, I "purchased" 10 tablets for what was then 900 us dollars, but btc was 7 bucks, so while I only lost 900dollars then, if you put it in todays dollars its 76k dollar lesson.. It sucks to get scammed, but it was a very cheap lesson, use an escrow next time...

Interesting story... many believe that early adopters are all rich today. But what gives bitcoins value for me is that you can spend them, I can buy merchandise around the world with them. So if you have/had many bitcoins, then are you likely to spend some.

The true winners are those who are early adopters AND and went away from the community and forgot all about their wallets, and then retrieved the bitcoins much later.

"It was a great deal and i couldnt resist"

that was the alarm bell.

but dont look back, learn from that lesson!
75 bucks are maybe much money for you now but when you get older its not that much.

when you learned your lession, 75 bucks are pretty cheap  Wink !

Absolutely, $75 is a really really cheap lesson in the world of scam.

You might avoid a e.g. $1000 scam later in your life, because of this "investment".

I trade both with and without escrow, and sometimes I even use escrow with people that have good rep.
It is nothing personal, its business.

Dont know if this is the right section but anyways...

So im a 16 year old right? Im big into technology, Microsoft and adobe certified, the whole thing. So no surprise that i like phones. I got an iphone like a year ago... terrible desicion. I liked it at first but it was just like everyone else and it was boring and stuff haha. So i sold the gpu out of my PC to buy a lumia 920 which i have been using for the past 6 months or so. I loved it and still do, windows phone is great! But now i really wanted ti try android out again (previously i got a moto g sent to me from a company to review on my youtube channe but had to send it back after 2 weeks). I really liked it so i decided i spend my BTC on getting something decent. Im a member of another forum (not gonna say the name). Anyway someone was selling a Moto X for $75. It was a great deal and i couldnt resist. Of course i looked and the guy had positive rep. He was pretty trusted. With my luck he ends up scamming me and another person and got banned from that forum. So now i lost $75, which is kinda a big deal for someone like me. Dont really have that much money or bitcoin and that was a large chunk of my remaining BTC. but i just couldnt resist. Pretty upset because i was really looking forward to getting a nice android phone to use! Either way i bought an amazon gift card with gyft with my BTC and that how i payed him since i dont have paypal. Long story short the dude stopped answering skype and now im pissed. This was my first time getting scammed  Cry Dont wanna come off as beggar but if anyone could help cut my losses i would seriously seriously appreciate it. I could even do some work for you if someone would pay me back the BTC i lost. Like i said im very good with computers so let me know. Just wanted to share. Thanks

Why did you not use escrow? I know it sounds like a cliche, but seriously, why run the risk? With bitcoin has escrow never been more easy.

yeah i should have! but the guy had very positive rep, and plenty of people vouched him legit! Didnt think i would need to worry about anything!

"It was a great deal and i couldnt resist"

that was the alarm bell.

but dont look back, learn from that lesson!
75 bucks are maybe much money for you now but when you get older its not that much.

when you learned your lession, 75 bucks are pretty cheap  Wink !

I am so sorry to hear about this. It's awful to get scammed especially if you do not have much in the first place. Best way to look at this is to not trust everyone especially if they have a good rep, sometimes reps can be faked just to make them look good. It may take some time but I know you will get this money back eventually it's a shame you had to lose it in the first place. I would stick to legit genuine sites for any other purchases.
