As an extremely new user to bitcoins nobody has clue about escrow etc. With paypal sellers will still have some fear, lot of bitcoin sellers scam people who dont know much about bitcoins.

secondly, i got a private mail and skype invite by another guy trying to scam for bitcoins seeing my post here saying he wanted to help.

If paxful can ban user and show status as banned, why dont u guys just ban a fellow and show on status as banned, that way it would have been much easier to know or put a status as risky below his profile picture

You jumped in blind and got burned. Rather than understanding how you got scammed, you'd rather blame the technology. You're saying bitcoin is not to be trusted, on a forum where hundreds or thousands of transactions take place successfully every day. I can understand you are angry, but ranting like this just makes you seem foolish - the perfect target for scammers. Consider yourself lucky that you only lost $35, it could have been much worse and maybe bitcoin isn't right for you.

Dude...

If he asked you to fullfill  his credit card balance instead of his bitcoin wallet, you could have been scammed in the same way. What's the difference? Why did you pay him first? If you don't use escrow, obviously someone has to pay first. That's why you need to use escrow. You were careless, that's all.

Golden Rules to survive on this forum without getting scammed :

1.Escrow,no matter how negligible the amount is.Escrow every damn dime.

2.Avoid dealing with newbies and members with self moderated threads.

3.Read the untrusted feedbacks,always!

OK GUYS,

First of i am sorry i was referring to wrong thread  because he used that info in thread to mislead in skype and and i will be careful in future while doing bitcoins

this is the guy who i purchased from:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1622563.20

Skype: emothewarrior
bitcointalk id: dazzarules.

He uses above info everywhere in all profiles like paxful and other forums and he has made some shady posts in bitcointalk like this:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=printpage;topic=1621484.0

As I can see others have also reported him for scam or opened paypal dispute in bitcointalk, I will be more careful in future.

Since I wanted to purchase bing account quickly he took advantage of that and also since i wasnt aware of bitcoins much.

As u guys say bitcoin did what i asked it do,cant bmale it and i should have read the sticky escrow post before

It's totally your responsibility here. I could've say It's not If you got scammed by Hero or Legendary members but he is a low rank, you should've expected that coming. PayPal is nowhere from being safe , people could open disputes even If the reason is not valid and could win with fake proof.
I can only suggest using escrow in future transaction (even though they are kinda useless when It comes to reversible payment methods).

Leave no FUD unchallenged
Sorry to say, but Bitcoin didn't do anything wrong.  People are not to be trusted.  Bitcoin did exactly what you told it to, which was to send an immutable and irreversible payment.  There is sadly no way to recover your funds.  It's like handing a complete stranger a handful of cash and letting them walk away without giving you what you paid for.

Perhaps the Marketplace subforum and each of the child boards could have a warning on it in red text or something.  There's a stickied thread in the Goods subforum, which could have prevented this situation if it were a little more visible.  But the bottom line is, don't hand money over to strangers without a trustworthy escrow.

//EDIT:  Damn, too slow, heh.  There was only one reply when I started typing.

All I know is that I know nothing.
Okay ur right, but we buy without trust in paypal too, i am myself a seller where people who dont know me buy from me all the time in faith paypal will help.
then continue using Paypal if you are satisfied with the chargeback it has and you are not one of the millions of people who have been scammed because of charge back of Paypal.

Where will somebody from bitcoins help if it goes wrong?
bitcointalk is just a platform that allows people to connect to each other and i don't think they are required to vet everyone that comes in.

I didnt read escrow option but its all complicated I think for person who starts.
just try to learn from this mistake and next time educate yourself before using something new whether it is bitcoin or any other thing you use.

He told me to buy bitcoins from paxful and send i to him and thats what I did.

If somebody is not trustworthy in ur forum, better delete profile of person if he is risky else people coming from organic traffic like me siffer,
well, scammers will be tagged eventually as a warning to others and worse cases i suppose they will be banned if proven.

but the solution is very simple. you use escrow!
you find someone who is trusted and tell him to hold the funds and you make the trade if it went through you tell the escrow to release the funds.
better yet, learn about "multi signature" and use a 2 out of 3 signature with the escrow. in short, that means 2 out of 3 person should sign the transaction for it to go through, it can be either escrow and seller or escrow and buyer, that way you don't have to put any trust on escrow either.

I left this user a negative feedback to tell people to use escrow so I'm not sure why you sent a random untrustworthy person on the internet your money. Sometimes you have to take responsibility for your own actions but if you had of used escrow you would have likely had no problems (and Paypal is just another form of escrow at the end of the day).

Who will help when I sell something for Paypal and the person says their account was hacked or they never received the item so they get their money back no questions asked and I'm left out of pocket? Scammers take advantage of Paypal just like they do with bitcoin.

Hello,

I hope my post is not deleted by moderator.

I contacted a person from bitcointalk who was selling bingaccounts.

https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/selling-verified-bing-ads-accounts-100-working-1710457

He asked me to fund to his bitcoin waller around 35 dollars. After I funded his wallet and he has disappeared for 3 days

I gave him some benefit of doubt although he was not showing as online in my skype

When  I switched skype to another ID surprisingly he was online, so that means he had blocked me

On asking when I will receive the bing account he quickly blocked me again.

I though bitcointalk is a legitimate site with people selling bitcoins and not scammers

As such what is the way I CAN RECOVER THE AMOUNT FROM HIM? Is that possible at all?

If not then this seriously reduces my trust with bitcoins, IT CAN never be a safe form of payment for buyers.

Paypal is safe that way... atleast u can lodge dispute, how am I supposed to recover my amount?

I am also making this post so that others are careful not to purchase from him.

Also you can send while i am offline .. i will delivery the product immadiately when i am online.

It is not the forum or the bitcointalk.org who is at fault here. Being a victim of a scammer is not the sites fault it is the fault of the scammer and yourself. The site allows everyone to post their opinions and comments but to determine the trustfulness of a person is out of the capacity of the forum. It is the scammers fault since he use this site to victimize someone. But it is also your fault since you trusted him instantly without asking for feedbacks about him.

i am sorry to hear about your loss but trust system is put there for people like you to read: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=trust;u=926839

it is even written in red so you can't miss it. when opening the trust it says USE ESCROW

also why did you even trust an unknown random person on the internet and send your money to him without knowing who he is, what kind of history he had, or whether or not he is trusted?
