hey my hmo here .... as far as I know and I've reading and trading outfourm with Paypal there are 3 ways in chargeback payments

1- Account was log in from a different location and made a transfer if Paypal is able to confirm that you haven't made the transfer they will reverse the Payment. * Most of the times this happen if someone pished your account details or keylogger you*

2- You made a Payment with certain Credit Card and you call you bank in order to " Chargeback an unauthorized transaction "

3- Met someone who works in PP to help you.

If you have been really scammed OP maybe this help you.

Thanks for this info. 2 and 3 are not applicable to me since the funds were send from Paypal balance. As I said 1 is a 50-50 chance. Depends on the reason you give I believe they will contact the receiver of the payment asking for some proof.

You don't have to worry then you can apply a chargeback with paypal, the thing is you have to wait some time and only if you sent the funds with not friends or family if so then you can't do it. And you should leave a negative feedback to the accused also.

No one accepts payments as goods and services while sending though PayPal. As I sent as F&F, the only way to get it is by saying the transaction was unauthorised. But its a 50-50 call since Paypal will investigate and decide.

What happened:: Following his thread and trust I decided to exchange $50 Paypal for BTC at 15% without escrow(big mistake) and sent him money to his Paypal. He told me he would send it within 30 mins. But never did. As it was late night I went to sleep hoping to get the BTC when I wake up in the morning. But no! I contacted him, for which he replied he was waiting for the BTC to get confirmed in Coinbase and would send it to me thereafter. If wanted he would refund my money right away. I asked for refund and till then no reply.

Also now I believe he has multiple accounts with which he posts on other threads and gives trusts to himself. Also he might escrow himself using other accounts. These are just my speculations.

Hope some DT member sees this and will help other members from not getting scammed.

Amount Scammed: $50
Payment Method: Paypal
Proof of Payment: http://imgur.com/1ZBXR9p
PM/Chat Logs: http://imgur.com/FqtylVh
Additional Notes: I have opened an unauthorised transaction case in Paypal asking to refund my money. If I get the BTC promised I will drop the case. But I highly doubt he will respond back

Yes, huge mistake not using escrow. But still one shouldn't be scammed.

1-the screenshot are only of his messages to you.  It's more helpful if the entire conversation is presented.
2-The user was just on at 3:42 and changed their email address (most likely because you have posted it in this scam accusation-Lord knows if this mofo tries to say they were "hacked" blah blah would be total bullshit)
3-As I said the messages are 1 sided.  The last message says he will refund you.  I do not see a message from you about that?  Please post that.  IF it is not done, the refund/BTC then yes this is a scam.

I have updated with my replies. My last reply was giving him 1 hour to send the BTC but never received any response.

The user has been online even after my reply was posted. I was tracking this the whole day. So there is no way his account is hacked. And look at his trust. I believe he has multiple accounts. Even today he got a feedback that too after I sent my messages.
