We are so busy with The two title header in Rolly Romero against Isaac Pitbull Cruz and Tim Tszyu against Fundora that we forgot another title fight is going on

Zurdo Ramirez uses his ring generalship to beat Arsen Goulamirian to win the WBA cruiserweight title he is now a two time World Champion having been a super middleweight

With a smart and disciplined display, Gilberto "Zurdo" Ramirez became a two-weight world champion by dethroning WBA cruiserweight titleholder Arsen Goulamirian via 12-round unanimous decision at the YouTube Arena in Inglewood on Saturday. All three judges scored the bout 118-110 in favor of the new champion.

FIGHT HIGHLIGHTS | Arsen Goulamirian vs. Zurdo Ramirez

Yeah, I think we might have overlook this fight as it was in my feed, however, the weekend fight of Romero vs Pitbull and then the anticipated fight of Tim vs Sebastian which is one of the bloodiest fight in history takes place.

At least Zurdo is back on winning again, back to back and now a champion after his lost to Dmitri Bivol. But this division is not known to many boxing pundits, but I have seen a familiar name in Badou Jack that Zurdo can fight to unify the belts in CW.

But the other Mexicans did not miss this fight based on the attendance, Zurdo is the first Mexican to win a Cruiserweight title and he is closer to the heavyweight division, only Andy Ruiz is in the heavyweight division who knows if he has a good run here in the Cruiserweight he will decide to transfer in the Heavyweight and join his fellow Mexican Andy Ruiz in the heavyweight campaign or even face each other on who is the better Mexican heavyweight.

I'm sure Zurdo can do it he is getting better and he has the skill to do that, I'll lock this thread now but will definitely follow Zurdo's career path in boxing.

I don’t know much about Goulmirian. France isn’t known for producing many champions. Goulamirian has held the WBA belt for many years despite not having defended it for almost 3 years between 2019 and 2022.
Ok, I thought it was just me not familiar with the name of Goulmirian. Been following boxers for years and so even like you as a hardcore boxing fans doesn't know much of this boxer and it's because he is outside of US and European boxers seldom goes to USA for exposure.

Ramirez is technically the smaller fighter because he has fought mostly at super middleweight and light heavyweight but he is very tall and has decent enough power to hurt cruiserweights. Being more active and having fought better competition will make him the favorite. I am expecting Ramirez to win by decision.
His length and height could be enough for him to go to distance and not engage Goulamirian. Sort of like frustrate a knock out artist, and so doing, he might lost focus and that could be a good chance from Zurdo to extend this fight into full 12 rounds and win by decision.

Yep, typical of a European boxer, just like the Japanese, they just want to stay and fight in Germany or any other European cities that embrace boxing. And it seems that he is a champion in recess and so this will definitely affect him, first time in the US and then the ring rust that might affect him.

I think Ramirez is huge and that's why he really has to go up in weight from super middleweight to now cruiserweight. But I don't think he can have power in this weight class. He just have a decent power and so he might not carry that and could be just another a regular fighter in this division.

Goulamirian is a 3:1 underdog as per crypto sports bookies.

3.35 on Stake which is very enticing. But it's also insane that the bookies see Zurdo as the potential winner here even when it's his first time in the class.

Yes, it's very attractive him being the underdog but with power in both hands. Perhaps odd makers hasn't seen Goulamirian raw power and he is not that stateside fighter and this is the first time that he will be fighting in the US. And usually boxers who had their first fight in the US is really motivated to see their talent. So let's see if he can beat the tall Ramirez here.

It might be good if this is going to be a slugfest, and not a snoozer fight. Ramirez should go early on Goula test him if he really has what it takes to take over the CW division as this division doesn't get that much love to the boxing fans.

They underrate Goulamirian for being slow as we can see on that highlight video and surely give the younger fighter the significance in the fight. Maybe the bookies are right he can win this fight. But if Zurdo isn't going to use his footwork to avoid slugfest with Goula, he is going to be the one down the floor.

After Zurdo’s disappointing fight against Dmitrii Bivol, it’s evident why he would choose to go up to cruiserweight where the level of opposition is much easier. Despite his talent, Zurdo has always been content with fighting low level opponents and hoping to land a Canelo payday eventually. Now fighting at cruiserweight, it might be harder to get a Canelo fight.

Here are the highlights of Arsen Goulamirian.

One scary dude, and that power, once it find it's target on Zurdo Ramirez it might be night night for him. But at least Zurdo is not backing on the challenges, he might have failed before capturing the belt, but this time he will be looking for history on his side.

Goulamirian is a 3:1 underdog as per crypto sports bookies.

This is risky for Ramirez, it's his debut in the upper weight and he is looking to fight a champ. His camp got crazy when he could just wait until Goulamirian turns 40 and rusty in the ring. It's what boxers do these days, waiting for their turn to reign as the ranked fighters get old.

Ramirez is just 32. He is in a hurry to get a belt he is diving this massive fighter Goulamirian who still 36 and very skilled.

I have to check Goulamirian to see how good he is he fought like Mike Tyson but does not possess the power of Mike Tyson, Zurdo is a more technical fighter and he can last the full fight, Zurdo had a lackluster performance against Bivol but I'm sure he learned a lot from this fight and he is ready to take on Goulamirian the fight is very even on this fighter but given that Zurdo has well experienced compared to Goulamirian, this fight is very interesting to watch I have Zurdo winning by decision and he will use his experience to neutralize Goulamirian power.
Same here, I'm not familiar with this weight class to be honest, never heard the name of Goulamirian before. But for Zurdo, surprise as well that he move up in weight, maybe it's one reason why he lost to Bivol, not saying that he  could have won, but I guess when boxers are trying to make that weight cut, they are bound to lose as their money will have a hard time trying to squeeze that weight in their frame. And in boxing, it's a brutal sports, you really need to be healthy at fight night. So let's see how Zurdo does in this new weight class. Only name that I'm familiar is Badou Jack, the WBC champion.
