There are:

- Fingerprints... basically the FULL length code, in this example: 0x6694d8de7be8ee5631bed9502bd5824b7f9470e6
- Long "Key ID"... the last 16 chars of the fingerprint: 2BD5824B7F9470E6
- Short "Key ID"... the last 8 chars of the fingerprint: 7F9470E6

Clear as mud? Tongue

The KeyID stuff is explained quite well here: https://davesteele.github.io/gpg/2014/09/20/anatomy-of-a-gpg-key/ (scroll down to the KeyID section)

Thanks Hardcore Pawn its clear as mud now Smiley

Thank You Ninja
and I go on https://electrum.org
and check the ThomasV sig and it sends me to this page:

http://keys.gnupg.net/pks/lookup?search=0x6694D8DE7BE8EE5631BED9502BD5824B7F9470E6&fingerprint=on&op=index

I notice the Search results for '0x6694d8de7be8ee5631bed9502bd5824b7f9470e6'
its different from the 0x2bd5824b7f9470e6
that i have seen in numerous threads and screenshots on here.

Is that normal? Did he change something?

which of the threse should i be inputing in Kleopatra?:

0x2bd5824b7f9470e6

7F9470E6

0x6694d8de7be8ee5631bed9502bd5824b7f9470e6

2BD5824B7F9470E6
AFAIK, it’s all the same. Take a look at the last digits of the big string: They all match. The small ones are just a simplification of the big one.

Hello so I downloaded:
gpg4win-3.1.5.exe

I ran the CertUtil -hashfile function in Command Prompt
and got the string
675b2261029ba54486eac08c9ac0fe09c7f1626c

It corresponds with the on site value.
I guess im just asking for somebody to also confirm it here to be 100% sure before I install it Smiley
Im 99.9999999% now Tongue

Thanks guys.
