Gone phishing...
As far as bang-for-buck is concerned, be sure to consider the notion of rig density.

Individually, 3GB 1060s appear to give you a better value than a 1080ti. A 1080ti will probably cost you over 3x as much for quite a bit less than 3x the mining performance (at least on ZEC).

However, to achieve the hashrate achieved by 8x 1080ti cards in your rig, you'd likely require a second or third rig with 1060s. This means you'd have to invest in additional mobos/cpus/psus/etc. for the additional rig, and more money spent on components that don't directly contribute to your hashrate reduces your overall bang-for-buck.

In short, a card with a higher individual hashrate makes better use of the slots you have available. (Sure, you could try to use splitters to run a larger number of less powerful cards, but A) those also add to your costs B) that many cards on one motherboard can be a real pain to get running, and even if you do, it puts many eggs in one basket (if your mobo/cpu/psu/etc. fails, all of your cards are down until you fix the issue)).

Miningcore
Just make sure to stay clear of the new AMD Vega GPUs for the time being. Hashrate does not seem to improve much over the older cards but power consumption has increased significantly. Hopefully it's a driver issue that can be fixed down the road.

Hi,

If you are not really into tweaking hardware, Go for Nvidia cards.
The Rx 570/580 5 Card rig was really Tricky to get going the way i wanted it...
The 3 gtx 1060 6gb cards were really easy and Type of set an forget.
Furthermore the gtx cards, If oc ed well, need way less power.
If that is an issue for yOu?!

Im a f***ng geek since my birth, bios tweak and all that stuff is not really a problem for me.
And power consumption is not really a problem.I have to pay for it but the amount of electricity bills doesnt matter always that is proffitable in my point of view.

Hello there BTCtalk. I was visiting this forum daily some months ago and the moment is here. I'm jumping into Altcoins mining and need some advise about what GPUs to get.
Please do not misunderstand me, I do my own research about Hashrates in different coins and algos,power consumption...but my knowledge is limited

This are my options right now:

-1080ti:709€-->846$
-1080:529€-->630$
-1070:439€-->523$
-1060:279€-->333$
-rx570 4gb:314€-->374$ (only can get 4,stock limits in store)
-rx580 4gb:334€-->398$ (only can get 4,stock limits in store)
-vega64:615€-->734€

I feel like 1080ti's/1070 can be a good long term investment due to the change of Ether to POS in next months, but now with 570/580s in stock I dont know what to do...
I plan to start with a 8gpu in a Asrock H110 Pro BTC+  and maybe upgrade with more cards in future.

Help pls.
Thanks in advise and sorry for my so little english
