the Temp in general is around 30 C . A/c running.

OK, that shouldn't be the issue - most of my machines see that on hot days around here with just an evap cooler running in a room that I wish I could get a bit more airflow through.

It's almost got to be lack of airflow IN the case, or you're pushing them too hard when they have poor airflow due to being too close together.

How many gb of RAM you have?

One of my rig used to freeze because I only had 4gb of ram. I've upgraded it to 8 and no it's perfect.

Also another possibility could be your MoBo. AsRock H81 Pro Btc is one of the best mobo's I've seen for mining.

waste of money. see my other thread. all you need is H97 Anniversary edition by Asrock and a bunch of risers coupled with cheapest ram and celeron.

which other thread? H97 Anniversary not in stock in India

Whoa - how hot is the temperature in the room the machine is in?

I wish you'd mentioned the "in India" part in your original post.

The cards are running at 5000 RPM and are still at 80 C. What should I do?

You have them too close together, or you aren't getting adequate air feed TO the cards from outside the case - perhaps both.

It looks like your card 2 is having cooling issues causing it to thermally limit the clockrate and probably eventually crashing - and ALL of your cards are running a lot hotter than they SHOULD be.

Do NOT let the cards set their own fan speed, default fan speed curves from the manufacturers are NOT designed with 100% usage in mind like mining puts on a card and let them get WAY too hot.
KICK THOSE FANSPEEDS UP A LOT.

I usually use a curve that goes something in the ballpark:

 setpoint 40c    40%
 setpoint 50c    60%
 setpoint 60c    80%
 setpoint 70c   100%

Works well on every card I've used it on where I CAN set up a fan curve (my AMD R9 290s and R9 280Xs are running under LINUX and amiconfig utility only allows for one fan speed setting)

For perspective - on Ethereum mining my GTX 1070s (same gen as your RX 480s) pull pretty much the same power and hashrate, but run at about 60c with the fan curve I posted.

Thanks Sir , Can you pleaseexplain in laymens term what fan speed I have to set ?

You go into whatever software you're using to overclock the cards with, and set up the fan profile in there.

I dont know, I have not used that miner before. I would imagine they somewhere in a readme or help document from nicehash.

If you are using claymores miners you can control the each GPU target temp and fan.

After the "MINERNAME".exe you can put -tt 75,75,75,75 that will make every card try and stay as close to 75 degrees as possible.

Also you can use the command -ttli 85,85,85,85 which means the miner will automatically throttle back the GPU performance and cool down if it reaches that temp.

Full Example:

"Claymoresminer".exe -tt 75,75,75,75 -ttli 85,85,85,85 stratum etc etc

Might be worth a shot Smiley

using Nicehash miner are the config same?

I just set up a mining rig with Conf :

- Intel i3 - 6098P CPU
- Asrock - Z170 Extreme 3
- AMD Powercolor RX 480 GPU - 4 gpu
- Kingston 120 GB SSD
- Corsair RM 1000x PSU.
- windows 10 Enterprise x64
- Ram DDR4 HyperX Fury 2133 Mhz

I have overclocked my gpu :

Memory Clock : 2200 Mhz

Other settings remaining Unchanged to AUTO which sets other settings to :

1.) GPU

- GPU : 1100 Mhz
- Fan RPM : 4118 RPM
- Temp : 87 - 89 Celsius (Avg.)
- Activity : 98-100 %

2.) GPU

- GPU : 787 Mhz
- Fan RPM : 2688 RPM
- Temp : 83-85 Celsius (Avg.)
- Activity : 98-100 %

3.) GPU

- GPU : 1190 Mhz
- Fan RPM : 3309 RPM
- Temp : 87-89 Celsius (Avg.)
- Activity : 98-100 %

4.) GPU

- GPU : 1050 Mhz
- Fan RPM : 2950 RPM
- Temp : 87-89 Celsius (Avg.)
- Activity : 98-100 %

Voltage is AUTO for all.

After Some indefinite time interval (sometimes 3 hrs and sometimes in 36 hrs. or maybe more) my NICEHASH miner 1.6.1.4 along with my PC freezes. and GPU fan runs at full capacity.

Than I have to restart it again directly and when it restarts all the GPU again goes to Normal Setting and any one of them goes to 300 Mhz clock speed.

Can Anyone Please Help me .

Edit 1 - Also Can anyone say what will be the life of my Gpu if it runs overcloked with proper settings?

Kindly Help .

Thank You
