I want to build a mining rig. I was wondering if i can mix GPUS (1080tis) from different brands... Is it fine if i have 2 from Asus, others from MSI, EVGA, Gigabyte and what not.
Does this cause a problem? If not, Will i have to have different software for each to monitor them?

No issue, and you can monitor all of them with GPU-Z or afterburner.
