Claymore and Afterburner have same GPU index

It's easy to check ! lower the value of GPU speed in Afterburner, and you'll see the hashrate going low in Claymore...
Ok, but why does Claymore release notes for version 10 say this?

- new GPU sorting method for NVIDIA cards. Now GPUs are sorted by physical bus index (it matches AfterBurner list of GPUs).

That means, that previous versions of Claymore did have another sorting of GPUs than Afterburner??

Ok, thanks.
So ethminer sorting = Afterburner sorting. That‘s good.

But why the hell did Clymore have another sorting before version 10??

Not to try Claymore yet. But I've tested in EWBF, CCminer and CWIgm, they all the same sorting list with Afterburner.

Anyone who can tell about ethminer / Afterburner?

I have 8 GPUs each in a separate ethminer process. So I need to know, which one to lower overclocking settings, when for example GPU3 fails in ethminer. Then it also does not help me, to adjust the fan speed in Afterburner, cause I don't know which GPU it is in ethminer.

The GPU3 in miner is the GPU4 in Afterburner. Uncheck "Synchronize settings for similar graphics processors" option and lower clock GPU4 in Afterburner, It would be fine Smiley

I can confirm claymore and afterburner GPU indexes are the same on my rig. Im using claymore v10 and afterburner 4.4 beta 12. No problems at all.

I cannot however speak for ethminer because i dont believe ethminer has ever claimed to match GPU indexs with afterburner. If you are that curious, downloading the miner and running it on your rig should be no problem. It also shouldnt make that much of a difference because you can always adjust fan speed manually to see what GPU you are tweaking.

Hello,

can one confirm if Afterburner 4.3.0, ethminer and Claymore are using really the same GPU index?

So for example GPU3 is the same card in every program?

Is there a differnece between Nvidia and AMD? Cause in Claymore changelog of version 10 I did read, that the GPU Index for Nvidia is now the same as Afterburner!? I thought that was already all the time before like this!?

What‘s about ethminer and Afterburner? Are both using the same numbering? Is it the same since the beginning or only since a specific ethminer version?
