Realistically nobody is going to get much for reselling their polaris cards, even the higher end ones.  If you're building a polaris rig you should be planning to mine on those gpus until they become one with the force.

I found this to be true. I have been picking up used Polaris based cards (570 & 580) for $180 - $220 USD on craigslist for the last 30 days.

Go for option 2. You don't really need the extra cooling fans and "old system" will be fine unless you are living in a tropical climate or where the ambient temperature is really hot. All you need to do really is to increase your fan speed and you should be fine. 60-70 degrees is fine and 90+ fan speed is fine.

hey guys. so by now I have my 2 videocards rx570 gaming by strix and my motherboard prime h270 pro connected and powered by bequit's the purepower 10 psu.

i have fund a really nice blog on ethermining and was doing step by step what is said there but am having difficulties. Also some opinions by professionals on the blog would be good to know that I am going the right way. So here is the blog

https://mining.help/2017/12/10/windows-10-mining-guide-for-amd-gpus-12-gpu-supported/#comments

Now when doing step 6 I have had several attempts and failures.

I first of all plugged in one GPU
installed the adrenalin driver 18.2.1 from amd official website on it and did the change in the settings (computing)
turned off the rig, plugged in the second GPU and turned it back on and after a while both GPU's were up to date
then I continued with the GPU-Z tool and I have a Hynix Memory type 4 gb GPU  the BIOS is from 18.04.2017

I have problems when I plug in second GPU and try to apply bios and driver changes. now even both GPU's are not recognized, help me out please.

I changed my motherboard and now the prime h270 plus is working just fine with the gpus.

by now finally it started doing the work it was supposed to do, thanks a lot

what you think about it and did i miss something important? also any sugestions on how to save a little money?
at this time, your spec has been ideal, if you want to save a little money, that spec already appropriate. next, you only do what some member suggested. when setting your RIG have the problem, you can back report. and some member sure help you.

Risers:Yikeshu 16x PCIe PCI-E 8X 4X 1X Powered Riser Adapter Card with 60 cm USB 3.0 Extension Cable, 6 Pin PCI-E to SATA Power Cable Gpu Riser Adapter – Ethereum Mining ETH - 40€
RAM: Crucial BLS4G4D240FSE Sport LT 4GB DDR4 2400 UDIMM Memory Module, red - 48€
MOTHERBOARD:Asus Prime H270 Pro Gaming Motherboard Socket 1151 (ATX, Intel H270, Kaby Lake, 4 DDR4 Memory, USB 3.0, M.2 Interface) - 115€
CPU: Intel Celeron G3900 2.8 GHz LGA1151 2 MB Cache Boxed - 36
additional cooler:
1. be quiet! BL044 -8€
2. be quiet! Pure Wings 2 - computer cooling components (Cooler, Computer case, Black) - 11,50€
3. DeepCool XFAN 120L/B Case Fan - 5€
4. Corsair Air Series AF120-LED 120mm Quiet Edition High Airflow LED Fan - 13€
the rig Construction I will do myself with aluminium pieces from local shop.

Total 470€
ontop comes the videocards. where i still am searching cheaper ones. but as I understood it here there is not much difference in the cards if i choose between the RX570 (1250MH or 1300 MH) on hashrates for ETH etc.

cards 6 of them about 370€ each right now is 2220€

so TOTAL : 2700

Like the others have said just get what you can for cheaper.

Resale is better for better spec cards though so keep that in mind

Polaris cards are most tweaker friendly for mining. The memory size of your cards ( 4 or 8 ) will give you gap 2-4 mhs if you are mining in daggerhashimoto.

this is a few ability you need to have (learned) for best result in building GPU mining Rig:
-Optimizing Cards (bios modification and overclocking).
-Calculating power consumption for every hardware that you are using.
-Power Scheme that you will use for powering your rig.
-System Optimizing...etc

An extra 2-3 mhs is an extra 4-6 dollars per month under current conditions.

In general, for amd buy the cheapest version of the card you can find..........
.......................................
People overpay for the high-end models.
if its problem is a price difference between device, it's true

When properly configured, the hashrate isn't that different between the highest-end model and the base model.
if you have a logic like that, it's not true. why some miners or a web of review have given a compare between GPU.

example:
 RX 480 4GB Hashrate 24-25 MH/s without OC,  28+ MH/s stable (OC).

RX 580 8 GB Hashrate 26-28 MH/s Modded only, 30-31 MH/s stable (OC).

you will need to buy new ddr4 ram,  ddr2 is not supported by the celeron G3900

videocard: 2 x RX570 - 800€
mainboard:1 x Z270 gaming - 130€
fan: Be Quiet BK008 Cooling Fan - 25€

power supply: Inter-Tech Combat Power CP 750W Plus - 50€
storage: 500 gb HDD - old system

cheaper option:
videocard: 2 x RX570 - 800€
motherboad: https://www.amazon.com/Biostar-Motherboard-N68S-Socket-Support/dp/B00413P3TU/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1518976851&sr=8-3&keywords=amd+motherboard+am2&dpID=51BaPWV0lOL&preST=_SX300_QL70_&dpSrc=srch

power supply: Inter-Tech Combat Power CP 750W Plus - 50€
SSD(your old hdd could be very slow, but willl not affect mining): https://www.ebay.com/itm/Durable-KingSpec-SATAII-2-5-inch-32GB-MLC-Digital-Solid-State-Drive-Disk-32G-SSD/162257532480?epid=2150410367&hash=item25c74d7640:g:YaAAAOSwTM5Y31j~
total = 882.21 Euro with your old psu or 932.21 with new psu
these items are on US sites.  you could probably find similiar items on uk websites

Do you have the motherboard from the old system?  You could try to just put the gpu's in your old system.  If that does not work just buy the parts above.

Hi,
the rx570 is a gold choice but the prices are too high atm for those vor other cards. With BIOS mod and tuning you geht about 28-30 MH/s in one card. The question is, who mich is your old PSU? You need a gold one or higher for 24/7 mining. For two cards 500W are fine but when you run Mord then get the 750W one.

Hey everyone,

i wanted to start miing and thought of doing so with first of all 2 RX570 rig, to which can be added further 4 cards.

My idea is
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Version 1
videocard: 2 x RX570 - 800€
mainboard:1 x Z270 gaming - 130€
fan: Be Quiet BK008 Cooling Fan - 25€
CPU: Intel Celeron G3900 2.8 GHz LGA1151 2 MB Cache - 35€
RAM: 3GB DDR2-RAM - from old system
power supply: Inter-Tech Combat Power CP 750W Plus - 50€
storage: 500 gb HDD - old system

1035€ total cost version 1

(I am not sure whether I should use my old cpu from my desktop computer and also the DDR RAM from it. I have an i3 CPU in there. The fan could also be extractet from there and I would use the box , so I do not need to buy a rig.)

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Version 2
videocard: 2 x RX570 - 800€
mainboard:1 x Z270 gaming - 130€
fan: - old system
CPU: Intel Core 2 Quad 4x 2,50 GHz - old system
RAM: 3GB DDR2-RAM - old system
power supply: - old system
storage: 500 gb HDD - old system

930€ total cost version 2

what do you think about the configuration, and what experience you made with the RX570 videocards?

I am thankful for any constructive feedback.
