what is this "brake pedal" you speak of?

about the only part that will wear is the fans.

mining is actually better in some ways as its temp remains constant. constant temp is good for electronics because of thermal expansion and contraction. and power off/on cycles is worse than leaving it on 24/7.

just keep it cool, dont go crazy overclocking it or messing with the vbios. and use a GOOD psu.

Hard to tell. Has anyone ever really mined a GPU to death? Cheesy

I am mining 24/7 with some old 7990s which came out AGES ago.. and they still perform perfectly. What CAN be killed however is the fans. They will probably not last as long as the card itself.

You will most likely be done with mining before it burns out...

I recently started mining with my GPU (altcoins), and I wondered is it possible that mining with a gpu is harming it ?

I heard two opinions and now I am not sure

Opinion 1)
Yes, of course

Opinion 2)
Only if operated over 90°C, so if cooled properly -> NO

for nvidia better to stay below 80° for amd below 90° was with old gpu new gpu have lower nano processing therefore better to stay below 80°, use additional fan to aim for this

The GPU will most likely decay faster than the one used with light gaming, but you're looking at a few years worth of time if you keep them at 50-65 degrees

Ty, I did plan on doing that temperature, and i won´t have tem running all the time
