I got crytonight running in ccminer. Temperature is no problem. GPU is running at 99% load with only 62 degrees celsius. And the outcome is really nice for the power consumtion.

I used to mine with a laptop ages ago, long story short it now only turns on and runs when it feels like it.

I do not mine with notebook any more as I cannot undervolt and there is no profitable coin. I should not upgrade the display driver.

How did you mine?
What miner? What configuration?

I mined with nVidia GPU in a notebook. It is too hot. We used to have tools to undervolt the GPU, but it is not supported by newer drivers.

Hey guys,

I have got a problem with my Bfgminer.

I use a notebook with onboard graphics and a Nvidia Quadro K1000M GPU.

But if I start Bfgminer I only find my onboard graphics and not the Quadro Sad

What can i do?

Honestly if I'm correct most mining software dropped CUDA support.
hopefully you are totally wrong  Grin

Now you should probably have a look at ccminer for mining with nvidia.
However mining with a laptop is a bad idea as it might destroy your laptop because of the cooling system which isn't powerful enough to handle the heat generated by mining...

I apologize OP I made a mistake, I lost track of which sub-forum I was in and thought I was bitcoin mining. The above is true for bitcoin but not altcoin.

Again, I apologize.

I already tried cudaminer.

And I selected the Quadro Card for the Cudaminer.exe... but it still took my onboard graphics... i don't know how to change this... even if I select the programm and tell the Quadro card to run it it will still take onboard graphics... don't know why  -.-

Pretty sure you want to use CudaMiner. There were a few releases that allowed the full line of cards, all the way down the 470x cards- I believe created by W0lf.

If you cannot find the posts in the threads, PM me and I'll see if I can dig up the original download/binaries/etc. I archive most of that stuff when I try it.

Cheers!

As I know know it isn't possbile at all because the Quadro GPU does only work with 3D calculations.
not really the case... especially for "pro" gpu... which are built to handle any kind of calculation.
but you would probably have to deal with optimus first, so it can let you choose which gpu to run.

ok basically it is a small kepler... and performance will be terrible if you succeed to get it to work... so it isn't worth it

I think the problem is optimus which disabled the Quadro card as long as it isn't used. Not the miningsoftware.

But I will try... and therefore I need your support...

Try searching for terms like  CUDA Miner etc..

You may find more info that way...

I haven't mined with a GPU in a very, very long time.
