I don't know why threads like this keep continuing.
It's easy to see why these keep happening. First introduction newcomers get to bitcoin is reading news articles or wiki entries about how bitcoin is mined by CPU/GPU or dedicated machines - or was mined by CPU/GPU. The articles almost never go to the effort to explain that CPU/GPU is effectively impossible today, and even if they did try to explain it, people have a knack of glossing over useful information like that and only notice the initial part of the explanation and think "wow I have a computer, I should be able to make money using it." Fortunately the frequency of these is decreasing over time, but it's not like the articles are actually wrong, nor that they're obliged to present the information differently, it's just that people read into them what they want. Gold diggers used to mine gold with a hand held shovel and pan in nearby streams. No one presents that information today when explaining how gold is mined today, except in history lessons and when kids read the history lessons they think they can pan for gold themselves too.

I have a GTX 750ti that I have been running on Nicehash for the last two months with profitable results, If your electricity is truly $.02-.05/kWh you will make some profits by way of BTC, but based on my math your ROI will not be nearly as fast as running S7's in the current market. My *personal* advice would be to invest in used/new asic equipment if you're thinking about investing anything. As always, do your diligence on your particular situation.

I don't know why threads like this keep continuing.  GPU/CPU day's of ROI are OVER.  Yes you might make a profit over electricity if you have low electricity price.  But you will not be in ROI and pay off a nice CPU/GPU.

Everyone really is a few years to late.  The 90 day roi on that equipment just does not happen anymore like once did.

Hello all here i got 2 old videocards i want to test gpu mining on windows 7  to see how its ,im thinking to start in 25days a gpu mining project with loan from my bank i need tips guys thank you all

Loan from your bank to buy miners with of ANY sort right now is a VERY VERY BAD IDEA.

At your electric cost, if you pick your coin and setup carefully you probably CAN achieve RoI before the video cards die - but you're looking at a timeframe of over a YEAR today, too many other folks have gotten into mining and that has greatly diluted the profitability compared to how mining was 2+ years ago.

(the claims about Etherium and decred are VERY iffy, new coins that a lot of folks seem to be jumping on of late thus killing the profitability rapidly).

Hmm i saw sameon earning 8$ a day with 1x amd 7990 i through buy 3-4 of them will pay back .my country is poor we pay like 0.03$ a hour for electricity .

Again... you are a few years to late.  A few years ago you could ROI in 90 day's on GPU.... it was a amazing and great time.

Now your lucky to pay off GPU, I would be amazed if you pay off GPU and ROI. Making over electricity is not same thing as making a ROI.

You can try to mine some ethereum if your GPUs have more than 1GB.
Depending on the cost of your electricity you might make some profits mining ethereum or monero

if you want to stick with gpu mining, it's better if you look at the altcoin section not here

there are two very profitable coins for gpu that can make you roi in 3 months, better than any btc asic, they are ETH and decred

GPU mining only loses money, so please don't loan money from the bank only to lose even more money.

Very true sadly GPU/CPU mining is dead.... you might make more then electricity in very few cases.  But you WILL NOT ROI on that CPU/GPU.

The loan part... hurt  me to read that someone even things about that.  Do not invest more then you can lose, do NOT take out a loan for mining.
