I second what Twingo Said.  It's amazing the problems that can be solved by pointing a big fan at hardware.

GPU needs some theraflu. Can be picked up at local pharmacy.

use afterburner to increase the fan speed manually, I have same problem with my 7870 and manual speed solved the overheating problem.

overclock too high for the card and/or voltage not hight enough to support those clocks.

Have you tried Reaper under GUIminer?  If all else fails, you may need to lower the overclock.

I have a Radeon 7670, and when I overclock it to its maximum using MSI Afterburner, Which is Core Clock: 800 and Memory Clock: 1000, after mining with GUIminer and CGMiner it tells me the card reports itself as "SICK" and it won't mine anymore, unless I restart my computer. MSI Afterburner then displays both clocks at 0MHz and a 0% usage of the GPU. Can anyone explain what is going on?
