Well, I bought my 1070 at $480 and 1080 ti for $798 each, but it's brand new not used. Maybe Bill gator bought the card as used that's why the price is cheaper. However, if you bought them last year the price is really cheap compared this year.

And honestly, if you are mining with 1080 ti with the current situation the daily earnings you can earn in usd is $2.17+ (electricity cost not included)

Right now in my case, I'm living in a 3rd world country our electricity rate here is higher than the other country. So, I can only earn small amount after deducting the electricity cost in 1080ti. This graphics card is not good these days because it has higher power consumption compared to 1070 and 1070ti base on what I experienced. 1080ti gives me 700-730 sol/s and watts around 3.20/w in dstm

Unlike 1070 I can get watts around 4.5/w. It gives me more profit than 1080ti.

I stop using nicehash because I'm afraid to lose my mined coins just like what happened a few months ago.

If you wanted to wise what card is the best 1070 and 1070ti are the best.

Also, I heard that 1050ti are also efficient card so they are also the best choice, but never buy them because I save space for my future high-end cards.

The altcoin mining section is pretty gentle from my experience. They aren't friendly to scammers, but when you're just looking for information on how to get into the mining game they are pretty tame. All I use is NiceHash as well and I thought I was getting in over my head until I got started and it was way more simple than I was making it. I got my 1080ti for $700, like I said you can find very reputable and high quality vendors around here that will help you get your start. I'll admit that I probably got a better price than most people will be able to get right now, but I think your calculations are a bit off as far as ROI is concerned. A single 1080ti on NiceHash earns me about $5 per day after electricity costs. I expect to ROI in a little over 4 or 5 months if this keeps pace. Also, my "Rigs" are just desktop computers that can be used for everyday tasks, not just mining; I like versatility, the ability to use them for gaming if need be and resale value in my "rigs".

Posted here cause I’m a noob.  Other forums seem to rip you apart for not doing your own research if you ask any questions so the beginners section seemed like it may be a safe place to not know it all.

I guess there’s something I’m not understanding.  All I have is nicehash.  I don’t have a rig.

From what I can tell is 1080ti costs at least $800 and uses a lot more power.

Right now nicehash says $1.34 per per day 602 ROI assuming .12 kWh.

1070 for $650 ROI is 553 days.

How do you pay them off in a couple months?

I don’t know...maybe I’m in over my head

I'm not so sure this is the proper section for your question, but I'll do my best to give you the little bit of knowledge I have on the subject. I've just recently got into mining myself, so I'm not a wealth of information. For about $600 it seems like you might be overspending on a card like the 1070 for mining. I got two 1080ti's for $1400 total, or about $700 each. Granted, I bought them from a vendor around here, but they are very trusted with not a single negative review in sight. They took very good care of their cards and I do not expect their previous usage to have a significant impact on their lifespan/performance. I plan to ROI in just a couple months, but my main point is that it seems like if you look for your cards a little harder you could get a lot more bang for your buck.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=160.0 - Altcoin Mining section, might be better served to look for information there.

Also, I have a 980ti that I would be willing to sell for pretty cheap, definitely will help clear up some room in your budget while maintaining good power, it has seen very minimal usage. If you're interested in saving a couple hundred bucks on one of your card slots and buying it from me for your rig, let me know.

Wowza  Thats an expensive card.  About double what I'd like to put into one.  Thanks though.

1070 palit sjs is running fine to me on ethereum and zcash. you can get around 30-31 mh/s stable temp 55 at claymore and 450-470 sol/s temp 59c in bminer I'm getting lower hashrate with dstm miner.

If you can get the graphics card with samsung memory you can get better hashrate and low temp. But most cards these days are micron type.

I'm trying to figure out what GPU to get.  Probably going to start out on Nicehash.

Looking at doing a 6x GPU Rig if that matters.

Don't really want to go too far over the $600 range.

Been looking at Gigabyte 1070 Windforce OC but am finding next to nothing for info on actual output.

Anyone have experience with this card?

Other Suggestions?

Thanks in advance!!!
