I guess in general i was just looking to mine.  I figured the monetary side of things wasnt going to pay out that much but just wanted to know if there was any mining software that would utilize my CPU instead of GPU.  I had seen a few adds and most were saying GPU so i wasnt sure if i could use my computers at all since my graphic cards werent up to par.

You can mine with your CPUs and GPUs, depending on the algo. Some algos can only be mined with a CPU, some with both,
some with only a bigger GPU. You just need different software for CPUs and GPUs.

As you said you won't make anything substantial, possibly less than you electricity costs

So I've got 2 systems.  Both have an 8 core cpu but the gpu isnt that great in either.  Will the mining software be able to make use of the CPU cores and will they calculate a comparable number of blocks in relation to a GPU?  I believe one system has a 750 Ti and the other a 1050 Ti?
These are weak cards, and you probably have weak CPUs too...
With these systems, you can only mine 2nd - 3rd tier altcoins (people call it shitcoins). Forget about profitability if you live in a standard electricity cost area.

Generally, CPU for cryptonote coins, and since you have Nvidia, it performs better for equihash coins.

You have to provide us more information, it's not clear what you want to do

But CPU and GPU are two different things, you can mine with both, but with different miners

For example, you can mine in the same rig or pc: Monero in the CPU, and Ethereum in GPU, or even better, you can use Nicehash: https://www.nicehash.com/download-center
With nicehash you can mine with both and it's very easy to start

750ti is very weak to mine, with 1050ti you can mine something, but it's weak too
Check this website: https://whattomine.com/coins
You can put how much you pay for electricity and see how much each card can earn

If you mean mining BTC just forget about it, GPU and CPU are useless no matter how many CPU cores or GPU you have.
